I went to this Ruby Tuesday facility in Elkton, Maryland for lunch. Neither less to say, I was very very disappointment with the level of service I’ve received. To summarize, I did not get my meal — Avocado Turkey Burger(which was wrong) for almost 30 minutes, the waitress did not mention the delay until after I motioned to some else for assistance. She was having lunch with other co-workers while on the clock to serve customers, and did not even remember to provide napkins or utensils. This is one of the worst Ruby Tuesday facility I’ve ever visited for a meal. The level of customer service is so horrible, I’ve decided to forward a complaint.

When I walked in there was no one at the reception stand. After looking around the waitress came from the other end of the restaurant. I ordered an ice and it was given to me without a straw I ordered a soup and salad. The soup was delivered without a spoon. I had either wait or get up and find someone to get me a spoon. Really how do forget a spoon with soup. This was all service related so the tip will be less than 20%

I loved the old Ruby Tuesday. The new corporate image is trying to be a gourmet place by replacing lamp shades, adding table cloths, and changing the menu. Trouble is there isn’t much on it I care to eat now. If you’re not in the mood for meat, you’re SOL. Your two choices are a little serving of penne in tomato sauce with the salad bar… or just do the salad bar by itself. Salad bar is ok but the choices they give feel to me like it’s incomplete, as in you almost have to order an entrée to feel satisfied. Service was ok. The place seemed clean. It is often empty, so the good news is there is rarely a wait for a table. Be warned that currently it’s in the parking lot of the long-abandoned old Walmart, which means it’s this little island of nice pavement & landscaping surrounded by dirt piles and construction debris. The last time I was there the little driveway between their lot and Rt 40 had flooded quite a bit because the rest of the lot was torn up and not draining right — making it almost impassible for motorcycles and really low cars during rains. Hopefully the messed up surroundings will be resolved in a year or two(it’s been years since the old walmart property was abandoned). Bottom line: the price/value just isn’t there. The chain doesn’t have the feel for fancy or fine-dining. And it’s trying too hard to be fancier than similar places such as TGIF or Applebee’s. I personally just don’t get the new image. And the menu items I’ve tried have been acceptable but nothing I’d go out of my way to want again.

I know! Ugh, bleh, chain food. Blah blah! Seriously though. This place is never crowded. They’re building the area up so perhaps that’ll change? The Salad Bar(I refuse to call it the garden bar, that’s just stupid) here is always well stocked and fresh. The food is pretty good for chain food. We were in the other week because I had a free burger coupon for my birthday. Let me just say– YUM. It wasn’t quite slap my grandma good but definitely push her around a little. Burger was cooked exactly as ordered, incredibly juicy and delicious. I got some sort of bacon, cheddar, BBQ sauce, onion ring burger. The tomatoes were bright red and delicious(I despise mealy pale tomatoes, I have no idea what magical tomato hothouse planet they got these from this time of year but… awesome!) Also, they put mayo on the burger too– with the BBQ sauce– which was kinda weird. Still though, good food for a chain. One of the best burgers I’ve had at a restaurant. Even better with a coupon. This location is one of the better ones.

My husband and I often go out on Friday nights for a quick dinner. It’s always a difficult choice to find some place with good food, not to pricey, and have the menu we both like. We had tried Ruby Tuesday’s when it first opened, and were disappointed, so we had not wanted to try it again. However, since there in no smoking no longer allowed in Maryland, we decided to give it a try. We were both pleasantly surprised, things have changed a bit. The service was very good, and the food was excellent. I think we will continue to make Ruby Tuesdays our go to wined down place.

This is the place to go if you want fresh, healthy good food. Great variety of foods, salad bar, and separate bar area. Hip décor, drink specials, and free WiFi. Since I have to be conscious of the type of food I eat, this is the place I love to go day after day whenever I visit Elkton. Wish there was a Ruby Tuesday in Nevada!
