Average wings(although crispy which I liked) but the owners are borderline rude and seemed burnt out. They should hire someone to run the business that’s focused on customer service. It seems the food has potential(lots of other reviews that love the food) but the owners attitude is off putting. Not looking for anyone to roll out a red carpet or anything just basic, friendly service without complaining about long hours.

This place is like a hole in the wall and back off the hwy. It looks like a small little sports bar inside. I spent $ 80 here and the best thing I had was the bacon ranch wings… let me tell you they are good! I wasn’t a huge fan of the salad or the other style of wings I had but, I will most definitely return for beer and bacon ranch wings!

I’ve seen it mentioned in numerous reviews, but the owner is rude beyond belief. My family and I tried this place over the weekend and as we were walking to the door, some grungy looking man serving the food yells at us «Are you staying or are you leaving?!»… apparently we were in his way. Fine. We order some drinks and my cousin(active Marine) notices that there is a 20% discount for active military in uniform. So we start chatting with our grungy server about the discount as it is against the Marine’s policy to wear uniform off base and he wanted to know if his government issued military ID would suffice. His response«$%^* no! No uniform, no discount…» Keep in mind, the conversation was pleasant and civil up until this point so we were completely caught off guard. Turns out HEISTHEOWNER and it’s his rule which he refused to accommodate based on a technicality. Fine. If it says«in uniform» and you want to be a stiff about it, we will manage. But the reason I’m giving a 1 star, he came back to take our order and HE brings it back up talking about how he hates customers like us that try to abuse the rules and that he should kick us out like he does with other customers. So that’s when the less-than-civil exchange of words occurred. He cursed at us and then eventually kicked us out of his restaurant. In 30 years, I’ve never experienced such an awful dining experience. I don’t give two craps about how good the food is(I wouldn’t know since we were excused from the joint before even trying the food) if I’m treated like a pile of trash. This scumbag should be nowhere near the service industry let alone owning a business in the industry. If that’s his perception of customer service, you can only IMAGINE what his standards are behind the counter. I’d be scared to touch that food…

The owner is a mediocre fellow looking for a reason to kick you out of HIS establishment(which he rents I’m sure). The waitresses seem very nervous and tormented about making a mistake which is what I call a REDFLAG. Been there a couple times, maybe he was have a bad day but been there enough to see a pattern. Won’t be back.

What a piece of crap the owner of this joint is! My family and I go in here and order a bunch of food to-go. We are sitting at a table minding our own business when this guy jumps up yelling in our face about watching our children and that he owns the place so we are to do what he says! No lie! Being in the food-service industry myself, I have never seen or been treated anything like this on my life. It was unbelievable. He has absolutely no customer service skills nor do i think he cares about it. Needless to say we got our children and left. Do not take your children here. Definitely NOT a kid-friendly place. By reading some other reviews we weren’t the first ones hes chased off. I feel sorry for the girls that work for this clown. No wonder he’s single. And have you gotten a look at that get-up he wears? What a joke! I will warn everyone I know about this psyco.

Pulled into town for the first time and needed to just grab something quick cause it was late. Saw the reviews on here and decided to check it out… Boy am i happy we did. Great people and great wings. Got a to go order but sat around and had a few beers while I waited. The other guests(who were all regulars) we super nice and they and the staff made me feel at home. Would definitely go again and recommend. Great food and great atmosphere

If you’re going for customer service, don’t. If you’re going for garlic parm wings, don’t. My husband had medium and they were really good. Probably going to say the best wings I’ve had since I moved here. Next time I will just try a different flavor.

Myself and a co-worker visited due to the high reviews but were disappointed. We ordered 50 wings, some for us and the rest for co-workers upon our return to the office. The wings were average with some different styles that didn’t blended well together(avoid Blackened with Asian Zing). The House style or Hot style were our preferred. The ODD. Be prepared when you go, the owners are present and working with a Northern«NOSOUPFORYOU» mentality. While we were there they drove off a family of 5 because the daughter, probably 5 years old, was playing with the salt shaker. Additionally they talked about driving people off regularly. The extremely ODD. Half the time we were eating the owners were talking to us and about odd topics: — How some customers are just not worth serving because they are @$${oles — How this business sucks and they should just shut the doors — How they purchase their food daily and prep daily and how it takes too much time — How their freezer went out and how they have no space For people who do not like to hear people complain, they sure do complain a lot. I suggest you search a little harder on Unilocal and find somewhere else to eat.

I can’t believe they use the name wing house for their restaurant. The wings by far are the worst I have every ordered. First, my wife and I ordered hot wings, meaning spicy hot, and there was not even a little kick to the sauce. We asked the waitress to make them on the crispy side but that request blew threw one side of her ear and went out the other. The wings were mushy and just warm, like they were sitting for over an hour. We recently went to Beef O’Bradys on 301 and I must say the wings were pretty good. Avoid this place, there are plenty other places in the area that you can get at least half decent wings.

A must visit. The house sauce is awesome and the Cheese curds aren’t far behind. My son and I just had dinner and as usual left on a full belly. My family love this place.

If this place is the best place for wings in the area, I feel sorry for the poor people of Bradenton/Sarasota because you guys are missing out on what good wings really are. After reading reviews, we didn’t bother calling ahead, we figured we would just go, order there, and take it home. We drove a good distance because of the reviews that Chumlee’s has received. My wife went in to order and while waiting, a decent size party came in and ordered their food. As my wife was waiting, their food came out and was served to them. They walked in 5 to 10 minutes after my wife ordered and got their food first. After receiving our order, we drove home excited to try our wings. What a disappointment. First of all, My wife ordered 20 wings for me and they only gave us 10. Also, I like my wings med to hot and after trying the sauce in house, ordered medium. My wings weren’t even close to medium. They were swimming in FAKE butter(Google«whirl butter flavored oil») with little streaks of hot sauce here and there. Disappointing in every respect. We will not return.

Great wings and great service! The owner is always there and very spirited. The place is small, so be ready to make friends! We always have a blast when we go here!

We got take out. I wanted to eat there but my boys(the chihuahuas) were a little stressed from our drive. These were so good as take out, I can’t imagine how great they would have been if we ate there! If you are in the area, you love good wings, you gotta stop by!!!

Let me start by telling you how much of a wing snob I am. I try wings and any and every restaurant, bar, dive, or other buffalo infused hole in the wall. I am ALWAYS disappointed. I think I put the wing on a pedestal. Well folks, this is the real deal. These a wings. These are real wings. These are great! I was down from the Midwest visiting friends who insisted that this would cure my disappointment. They were right. Chumlee is a character who some may not appreciate. But if you don’t like him, wear ear plugs and eat. The house wings are the best wing I’ve ever had. I ate 20. I also tried about 8 – 9 other sauces and was not disappointed by a single one. These aren’t the wings that your local bar drenched in store bought buffalo sauce; these are fresh, delicious, and clearly made by someone who has pride in what they do. Bottom line: if you want a real wing, with real flavor, this is what you strive for. You will not be disappointed.

Found this little spot through Unilocal and I was very pleased. When I first walked in I was hesitant as to how I would be treated because believe it or not racist folk still live in America. NOTHERE! The owners are so friendly and entreating. They made us feel at home and the gentleman owner sat and talked to us the entire time — good and interesting conversation at that. Okay I’m sure you want to hear about the food too. The chicken and sauces are AWESOME! Fried just right! They will allow you to sample the flavors prior to ordering. Their chicken is purchased fresh daily. I’m from Delaware and we make it our business to eat everywhere – chicken is my favorite food when cooked right and this was a top five for me. Great service plus great food equals another customer. We will make this a «must visit» whenever we return.

This review is after giving them two visits. The wings are decent. I will give them credit for the fact that they are juicy and fresh tasting — not overcooked, nor were they dried out like you find in so many wing places. The owner says he shops daily and that he chooses not to own a freezer because he doesn’t believe in serving anything that’s been frozen. For that, I also give him kudos. Unfortunately, the wing sauces need some work. The flavor of all the sauces we tried really was just OK. Not bad, but nothing to amaze your palate. The Becky’s Fries — also just OK(sorry Becky). Butter and french fries don’t work well together in my opinion and loads of butter is the secret sauce to these fries. The marinated chicken sandwich alone cost them a star. Yep, this would have been a 3 star review had it not been for the chicken sandwich. When you hear that they marinade their chicken for 24 hours before cooking, you’d think you were going to be in for a treat of very flavorful juicy chicken. Quite the contrary. The chicken was very very dry tasting and to make it worse, the chicken only covered half the bun that they brought it out on. I literally cut my bun in half and turned into a half sandwich to make the proportions correct. I really think the $ 0.93 beer is why this place is so highly rated It’s certainly not the flavor of the food getting high marks. Someone else gave Chumlee’s a bad review for not answering their phone. Believe it or not he admits to not answering the phone and almost seems to pride himself in the fact that he ignores the phone. He says he cares more about the customers that are in the store right now than he does answering the phone, so forget this place for take-out. He only wants your take-out business if he has an empty restaurant and it’s convenient for him. Bad business if you ask me. Oh, one more — get this — he charges for ice! Are you kidding me? $ 0.75 per cup! Next time we’re in Bradenton/Sarasota looking for wings, we’ll head on down to Wings N Things on Lockwood Ridge. Now those are some good wings!

Stopped by Chumlee’s on a weeknigh a couple months back while visiting friends in the area. They are regulars and love this place so I agreed, although I’m not a huge fan of wings. Place was packed but we managed to snag a table outside as a party was getting up. Chum himself came out and took our order, which came out pretty quickly. He explained as my friend had already that the reason people love this place is because he gets up super early every morning to hand pick the chicken he uses or something like that. Made a believer out of me either way as the wings and sauce were delicious and I will definitely return next time I’m in the area.

I was visiting my family here in Bradenton. They wanted to get wings at their usual spot. I suggested we try Chumlee’s based on the positive Unilocal reviews. We arrived 20 minutes before closing. The owner said they closed early and do so often if business slows down. Make sure you arrive at least an hour before closing or you too could go home wingless.
