Guest House Int’l

For lack of anything else, my family and I reserved a room at the Guest House. The best thing I can say is that the wifi was strong and the carpet was new, everything else was weak and worn. That, however, is not my biggest problem with the Guest House; the fact that upon check in, they scanned both my driver’s license and credit card is. For anyone aware of credit and id theft, this is a *huge* problem. I asked what is done with the information and was told it is only kept for the length of stay. I have written to the corporate office to verify this.
Beyond that, this is a typical Florida motel. The carpet and some of the furniture had been replaced, but the bathroom tile was horribly cracked as was the tub insert. There was a soap wrapper on top of the shower which made me curious about how well the room was cleaned before our arrival. The ceiling had huge patches to the plaster which leads me to believe the renovation was a requirement.
There were 3 conventions and Spring Break happening at the same time so the alternative was to sleep in the car. My 12 and 15 year olds can’t ride in the car and maintain civility so this was the lesser of two evils, but I won’t do it again.

Cont breakfast skimpy but good
Room smelled like a dog had been in there. Guest in room next door had a dog that barked a lot. Did not know it was a pet friendly hotel.
Pool had debris in it
Jacuzzi broke & full of bugs & debris
HBO advertised in the room but not available on the TV
TV so dark you could barely see the picture. Really hard to watch anything on it.
WiFi restricted — cannot access iTunes store, Netflix or HBO go.
