Excellent selection and reasonable prices. I found everything I was looking for here. Friendly and helpful staff. I’ll definitely be back.

To all those that do their drink shopping at Pine Orchard Liquors on Route 40 you may want to take your hard earned money elsewhere. I will never ever step foot in that store again nor will I give that greedy owner another dime of my money. Today I bought a 4 pack of beer that was labeled as 10.99. When I paid for everything and got to my car I felt like I had paid too much. Turns out they charged me 16.99. The lady who owns the place said no it is 16.99. I said mam there is a sign up that says 10.99. I went and got the sign and showed her. She said I don’t care it 16.99. I said you don’t honor your posted prices. She said no people get spoiled by her great prices, it 16.99. I said, wow you won’t honor the 10.99 even though it was your mistake. She said no it 16.99. I said I would like my money back and that I will never be shopping here again. She said I don’t care you are a joke now here is your money and get out of my store. I have never been more embarrassed and humiliated. Don’t shop there if you can avoid. BTW, she doesn’t give back to the community either. She wouldn’t help out a local elementary school for teacher appreciation week last year. Another store gladfully did. I will shop there for now on.

As soon as you walk in you’ll notice Pappy Van Winkle bourbon sitting behind the counter at 10x over retail price. Their other products were also marked up way over retail. There are plenty of other great stores in the area, please don’t patronize stores that gouge their customers.

Drove quite a way to visit this place because I heard the selection was great. Turned out to be true. I found some things I never expected to see on the shelves and quickly snatched them up. Will definitely be back.

I know, I know… Pine Orchard Liquors doesn’t look like much from the outside. It’s this old-looking wooden building. But inside is another story… This place has a HUGE selection of wine and spirits. I’m not really a connoisseur of either wine or spirits but I know enough to know that they carry some hard to find items. And by hard-to-find, I mean… the last time I was there, I actually saw a few bottles of the extremely rare(and pricey) Pappy Van Winkle bourbon whiskey! If you’re looking for beer, the selection isn’t as extensive. If you’re a craft beer snob, you’re probably better off going to Petite Cellars or Perfect Pour for your beer fix. It is a little cramped inside and service could be better at times, but Pine Orchard Liquors is really a hidden gem in the Ellicott City area!

They have a great selection of wine and spirits. Whatever you are looking for, they prob have it. I was looking for 18 yr old jameson and icewine, and some places nearby were charging up to $ 130 for jameson. The prices here were great. It would have been nice if they had more experts working on the floor to recommend wines, but you can ask the owner who works behind the counter– she is super nice. Be sure to check out their website– they often have coupons which is going to make your already low priced deals into steals!

I used to go here to stock up on my regular wines but the staff service has gone to crap recently so after years of going I won’t be going back. If you have never been here before just note that this place is packed with anything and everything in no order whatsoever. They have bottles in rows in the floor. Some have been there for months on end collecting a thick layer of dust. Some bottles has discolored price tags taped to the bottle on the floor. Basically, you better know what you want when you go. Some of the staff are helpful and some quietly stare at you annoyed when you ask a question. Flip a coin. Better bet is Petite Cellars in Marriottsville in Turf Valley. They are more organized and much much cleaner. If you don’t mind the drive, the best places in the area is Total Wine & More in Laurel or Beltway Fine Wine in Towson. Both are operated by the same company. There is also the Costco in DC at the end of 295 which sell wine AND liquor.

Great store with a great selection. The aisles are uncomfortably tight but that just means that they have every liquor/beer/wine imaginable. Make sure to go on «dollar days» but make sure to go very early. Oh and my dad works in the beer department, so say hello to the guy with the mustache!

as much as i hate to admit, i do shop here. i’ve heard all the stories about the owner, but i still go and sometimes find what i want in bourbon. the prices of the super hard to find stuff is laughable, but if you want anything else, i think the prices are great. i believe it is on purpose to be cheaper than the other guys and that sometimes gets my dollar, but i mostly shop where the service is friendly even if the cost is higher. it is crowded by people and merchandise and i have to go in with the mindset of being annoyed. but the check out line always moves very fast regardless of how busy it is.
