True to it’s rating, this place is alright. I’ve been here twice now. Both times were just okay not great but not bad. Both times I received drink recommendations that were either boring or not good. I really liked their pork belly and polenta! But seems like they change their menu often so it wasn’t there the second time I went. I ordered the pork belly dish, pinwheels, and fries. All their food came out barely warm. The pinwheels were essentially just bread. Tasted much better when I took them home and nuked them in the microwave because then at least it was hot. Their fries were really good the first time I went, super crispy and really worth the price. But the second time they were soggy and disappointing. So it seems like their fries are hit or miss. Their old bay wings are pretty good though! If I didn’t try these the second time I came, I probably wouldn’t come back.

I’m really surprised at the poor reviews White Oak has gotten at points. My wife and I have gone here regularly for the last year, and we’ve never had anything but good to great service. The food has always been very good and very fresh, albeit with a limited selection, and I’m not a fan of their ketchup. The beer selection is terrific, and we love their brunch options. One of our five favorite restaurants in Howard County.

Just had dinner at The White Oak and it was pretty darn delicious. Five of us: Blue Cheese Burger, Potato and Parsnip Soup, Thai Chicken Soup and two Muffalettas. Who names food«Muffaletta?» Oh, and chicken wings to start, perfectly prepared. We had somewhat of a doofus for our server but he was well intentioned. He messed up burger order but manager had it fixed super fast with an apology but not with a discount, which I would have expected after a mess up. The place is hopping on a Saturday night and a live band was just starting to set up before we scooted. The décor is very nice, lots of wood and leather, plus some big screen TVs with the filthy rotten Yankees on the tube. Craft beer menu is pretty nifty, as well. All in all, a good place, good food, nice experience.

Just got back from the white oak tavern, waitress was nice and attentive. Food eh lets just say maybe less than mediocre for me. My husband enjoyed his burger, but I ordered the chicken nugget salad since I don’t eat hamburger. My chicken nuggets didn’t seem like chicken tasted almost like a pork/lamb sausage mix. I understand they are homemade chicken nuggets but no chicken had to be in it. That was my only complaint. I was expecting white breasted chicken nuggets.

I have been to this brewpub a few times and have not been disappointed. First of all, their selection of craft beer is vast and would satisfy any pallet. Plus it is constantly changing. They offer you even more incentive to show up with their Mug Club, giving you benefits for trying new brews. Your first 25 beers gives you $ 10 off on your next visit. Why not join? It’s free! Last time I was there I had the Harpoon Camp Wannamango, which was delicious and a new favorite of mine. Their food is something to brag about as well. You might at a glance say that it’s nothing out of the ordinary bar and grille food. However after reviewing the menu you will find that they switch things up often, and draw influences from different cultures for their dishes. It’s very fun! Most of all, every time I sit at the bar or have a meal there, the staff is always so inviting and outgoing. They seem to make friends with everyone there. Last but not least, they have a great happy hour! $ 4.50 all beers on tap! You must go!

Since brunch, we’ve been back four more times, and it’s great. Farm to Table in my book deserves a second chance, and White Oak Tavern does not disappoint. You can taste the difference, plus you’re supporting local farmers. I love that the menu is seasonal — change is a good thing. The stellar standouts are their burgers. Juicy, tender, flavorful, with handmade fries and home made ketchup. The egg on the Southwestern burger not overdone, just runny enough to compliment the beef. The brisket is flavorful, as is the homemade BBQ sauce. Tuesdays is «pint night» $ 5 pints of their featured brew, AND you get to keep the glass. They also have a ‘mug club’ where you can get a discount on certain nights on mugs of beer. Stick with what White Oak does best — microbrews(and they have a LOT to choose from) and their burgers. You won’t be disappointed :) Positives: *Everything” is made fresh in house, including their bacon and condiments. Farm to table — huge plus in my book. Microbrews — lots of them, with informative descriptions — all the waitstaff were knowledgeable about the extensive list, and recommended appropriate brews for our palates — big plus! Changing menu — yeah variety! Negatives: Small dining tables in the dining room. Party of four normal sized people ordering drinks and appetizers and entrees will feel cramped and crowded if you like elbow room. Sit instead at the bar or in one of the booths. Menu is «hit or miss» unless it’s a steak or their signature burger. The pasta dishes I’ve had have been underwhelming. Tip: Sit in the bar. The waitstaff there are very knowledgeable, attentive, and quick. Seating there gives you elbow room, plus you can watch a game. The noise level in there though, can be a bit higher than in the dining room.

Went here for brunch on my birthday food was good, I had the French toast. Also they have bottomless mimosas. Prices were very decent. Very nice chill soot.

The White Oak Tavern is truly a hidden gem, in a hidden strip mall. This place is great, rustic décor excellent food and drink. They have tons of beer options and they change frequently. The new Spring menu is heaven, I tried the drunken noodles and it was the best I’ve ever had, basil spicy and delicious topped with pork belly! Yum! My hubs got the short rib, it was tender and perfect!

Great beer list! Very interesting small plates — the broccoli I and braciola was tasty. We went for the burger and it was really good.

I’ve gone back and forth on this one, but the experience I had this past week was poor. I have heard that White Oak is a good restaurant, so I hope this was an aberration(I used to come to this location all the time when it was Jilly’s). My family and I arrived around 6:30, and the dining room was only about half full, with another table or two seated outside. The restaurant had three servers working, and the waitress covering our table appeared to be covering two(maybe three) others. As you might have guessed, the complaint coming is that of slow service. It took nearly 25 minutes to get drinks for the four of us(we all got draft beer, so it was not anything complicated). It took about a full hour to get our food, which consisted of various cold sandwiches and one burger. To add insult to injury, the waitress said that a manager had seen how slow our service was, and he wanted to give us 10% off of our next visit. She then handed us the coupon. If the manager had truly seen the slowness of the kitchen and waitstaff, then he should have come over and greeted us himself. Ultimately, the food was lackluster and the service was terrible. The one bright spot is the beer. White Oak has a large beer list and an interactive menu similar to Frisco. I would come back again for the beer, but probably not for dinner.

Food: 3.5 Ambiance: 3 Service: 3 We’ve been here a few times for lunch and dinner, and finally came for brunch on a Saturday. The Tex Mex scramble was interesting — eggs with chunks of pork and bacon, swimming in a sea of refried beans. Overall not bad, beans were tasty, but the jalapeños that came on top were weirdly sweet. Mr Beffrey got the breakfast sandwich with housemade sausage(fennel-y and delicious) and swapped out the baguette for a biscuit, which likely doubled the calorie count but was well worth it. The pancakes came in a huge stack and were large enough to share between two people. The place was entirely empty when we came for brunch — people are missing out! This was a solid option especially for the suburbs. Ambiance is nil, it feels like a barebones bar first and foremost, but we’ll likely be coming back again!

We have been here several times, and on our latest outing the waitstaff was able to accommodate a request that they certainly did not have to. The food is seasonal, local and delicious. The beer rotation is great and local. It is a little loud, as I have noted in the past, but if you go a little later, and it is a little less busy, it is quieter(not surprising). It has become my go-to place in EC now that I have had to walk away from Ellicott Mills Brewing due to their inconsistency of food quality. It doesn’t have the charm, but you can only do so much in a strip mall. (I’ll be back Ellicott Mills Brewing, I want to believe!)

Wanted a good brunch so I checked this place out… results perfect! Ordered the White Oak burger and is was really great. The meat was juicy and flavorful. The onions were almost too sweet but worked with the meat. I opted for the lamb chili over the fries and o-m-g it rocked. The flavors with were good, I could eat that chili all day! The server seemed overwhelmed and took a while to greet us. Even with that the experience was pretty good. I will be back to try more, esp. the $ 10 bottomless sangrias on the weekend!

We came to the White Oak Tavern based on the reviews from Unilocal! We came for brunch on a Sunday morning. It was not very crowded which was a plus and the beer menu looked really good as well. Maybe 10:30 was too early to drink but when there is a good beer menu you can’t pass it up! The brunch menu looks solid when coupled with the beer menu. They do the bottomless bloody’s and mimosas as well. I went with the pastrami hash topped with dat egg and a side of french fries. We also ordered a side of bacon. Pretty delicious. The fries were nice and crispy as well. The food overall was good. The service on the other had was a bit slow, awkward and non-attentive. Maybe she was having an off day. Who knows. I will continue to come back here because the beer list is outstanding and the food was quite delicious as well. I would definitely recommend hitting this place up in you are in the area.

Had dinner here with my wife one evening. We were out for ramen and stopped by uma uma on rt. 40 but they couldn’t make it without mushroom to which I am allergic. So we stopped here, having heard they also serve ramen. Turns out they also can’t make it without mushroom in the broth. Seems these places all use pre-made broth and can’t vary the recipe for the unfortunate souls that can’t eat certain foods. So, my wife got the ramen and I got the White Oak Tavern burger. That burger! The beef is really good and this thing is big enough to satisfy any appetite, including mine, which is saying something. This is a burger they can be proud of. The ramen… Well, they call it ramen but it’s closer to soba noodles in salty water with A1 sauce. The chashu was a thick slab of porkbelly that could pass for a 10x thick piece of bacon. Well, they tried. It’s an oddity on an otherwise purely western menu. I have to hand it to the service and management though. They really did an outstanding job of trying to accommodate us. They won a good chance of our return for another try of other items on their menu. I’ll update my review after our next visit. For now, since we came to try the ramen, they get 3 stars.

I love er thing about this place from the locally sourced foods to the $ 10 all you can drink brunch to the mug club! This place has something for everyone starting with the fact that their menu changes seasonally so they ensure that you are getting the best tasting foods in the area! I personally love the small plates menu because there are tons of things to share — a bucket of bacon or roasted beets, they have something to tickle your fancy. Their bar isn’t terribly large but they have enough tvs to suit your Sunday football needs. Their ketchup and sauces are homemade so don’t expect them to taste like what you buy at the store, they are so much better!!! Overall, a great place for a date or brunch with the friends or a family gathering!!!

I can’t endorse this as above average. I like the idea of White Oak — pub food elevated a step above beer nuts and limp fries with a broad beer selection. It falls short. The food needs some serious work in execution. The fries are deeply browned — burnt outside but thick cut so the inside has a soft core. They are salty. The Banh Mi sandwich is 50% bread, 40% bland, oily chicken sausage. If you pick chicken sausage for that sandwich, splitting it lengthwise with the meager amount of other fillings in the sandwich makes this a chicken sausage sandwich. There were about three jalapeño rings, a sprinkling of cilantro and carrot strips, with a swipe of the aioli on one side of the bread. You barely tasted anything other than bread and oily chicken. Side salad had more dressing than I liked but it was just a heap of greens with dressing so that’s all I can offer there. The pastrami went mostly uneaten. The brisket inside was declared tough. Seems almost improbable. The smoked turkey sandwich, even with the duck bacon, earned a shrug and half of it was eaten. Our server was gracious about letting me taste a couple things before settling on a drink, and I have no concerns with the staff or quality of service while we were there.

White oak tavern… Solid food, good vibe and decent prices. White Oak Tavern is located in a strip mall off of rt 40. The location has a good sized bar and dining area, so groups are welcome and even at peak times you don’t feel stuffed into a box. I have been here 3 times now and have enjoyed each and every time. The service, food and prices are all spot on and worth coming back for. I have come here for brunch, dinner, lunch and even just to drink. Some of my highlights are below. Food: Fries — Their fries are great and the ketchup and aioli are good sides. I did not like the garlic/parmesan fries because they were covered in cheese and super oily, whereas the reg. fries were nicely done and the portions were decent as well. Egg sandwiches: The White Oak Tavern makes their own muffin and the muffin is great and fit about 2 eggs. With that you, one can make their own egg sandwich so you can customize any which way you want! You feel spicy add the harissa or if you feel salty add the bacon or corn bread. Blackened Catfish: The Blackened Cat fish sandwhich was great. It had great flavor, texture and feel to it. From the start to the finish I enjoyed every bite of it! Mac and Cheese: The Mac and Cheese is stellar, it is only found on the kids menu but it is so cheesy and yummy that one needs to order it, even if you are a kid on the inside! Service — For each visit the service has been great, always helpful no matter the size of the party. So points for that! Overall I highly recommend The White Oak Tavern, their prices, food and services are on point and well worth coming back for more! Please note, their beer selection is pretty decent and worth looking into along with their Happy Hour Specials. So drink up!

I have been here a few times and they never disappoint. I stopped in today to meet up with a friend who canceled on me after I got there. Oh well no big deal, I decided to roll solo and have a beer or 2. I ordered a beer flight and a small plate poutine at the bar. The bar tender was very friendly and attentive. The beer flight was reasonably priced runs from $ 10.00 to $ 18.00 depending on what beers you choose. They always have a new selection including a lot of the local micro breweries like Heavy Seas and Flying Dog. My food came quickly and was pretty good. Their fries are great fresh cut and lightly seasoned. Everything is locally sourced and it shows in the flavor of the food. Bar area isn’t that large but the whole place is in the small side, but that’s part of the places charm. There are plenty of tvs around to watch a game. I will definitely have to come back to check out there pint night. They also have their own app that will get you a half off discount on a small plate.
