Someone brought in a dozen donuts from The Donut Palace to my work. I had never heard of Donut Palace, but I overheard someone say it was their favorite. I tried the chocolate topped with mini M&M donut, and it was spectacular! Far superior to Dunkin Donuts, though I would personally rank most donuts above Dunkin. I haven’t been to the store, but their donuts are fabulous.

This is probably the only donut place I know of in St. Louis County that is worthy of going up against the little city donut shops. It was Saturday morning and they were busy and filled with plenty of inventory. They had donuts topped with sprinkles, gummy bears, cap’n crunch, oreo, etc. I even got one with maple icing and bacon crumbles. My co-workers thoroughly enjoyed them. I will be back. Everyone knows if I show up at work on a Saturday then there will be donuts.

They’ve been making fantastic donuts for a long time. Still one of my top donut spots in St. Louis. Their cake batter donuts are all great and rich. Long johns and custard filled are our standard sunday purchases. Usually a busy place in the mornings but the line moves fast. Take it from a guy that knows donuts. Man do I love donuts. You can’t go wrong at this place.

Comparing to the other donut store in town, the donuts are smaller and more expensive. The nice part is they do take credit and the drive up window is extremely nice. There was a slight language barrier with the girl working there this morning. Taste is up too you, i prefer Schulte s but to each his own.

I am really disappointed. I just purchased one dozen mixed donuts. Old fashioned was stale and had an after taste as if it was cooked in spoiled greasy oil. Blueberry with glaze had a good flavor. Kids liked triple chocolate. Overall average donuts that are no different than the ones sold at local grocery stores.

My family were all bakers, my aunts & uncle, my grand-parents, and great-uncles & aunts… I Know Donuts. That being said, Donut Palace is a great place to reach back into my history and enjoy delicious fresh donuts! I especially love the chocolate long johns… they are long and not-too-crispy with a delicious smooth chocolate icing! The lines can be long on the weekends, but they move quickly! Stop by!

I’m a donut snob and these were top notch. The customer service was great. My daughter wanted a donut with fruit loops an top and I didn’t realize that they gave me fruity pebbles until we got to the truck. I went back in and they gave me the fruit loops and let me keep the fruity pebbles. Good people and great donuts…

I love this little palace of donuts!!! Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to come here but then again… it’s probably good that I’ve been ignorant. I’ve been 3 times in 1 week and had dreams of them the other 4 days. They open at 3:15am for you late night owls and extra early morning risers. Take a gander but when you’re ready to place your order let them know how many donuts you plan to get(they grab a box special for your #) They also have samples on top of the counter so be careful not to spoil your appetite grabbing too many of these teeny delicious moist decadent treats. What I’ve tried and in order of excellence: 1. Chocolate Long John 2. Blueberry Cake 3. Glaze(yeast) 4. Maple Bacon 5. Caramel Glaze(yeast) 6. Double Chocolate(cake) They have specialty options such as the new hot trend of Fruit Loops, Fancy Sprinkles of M&M’s and all that jazz but I wasn’t in the mood for anything strange. I wanted goos old fashioned well crafted donuts. The palace did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly, the interior nice and clean and roomy for dining-in. Coffee, napkins, condiments, cookies, cupcakes and frozen treats were also available. I promise to use restraint but I honestly can not wait until I can cheat and have another one of the Palace’s sinfully delicious Chocolate Long John’s.

After living in Ballwin for several years, and driving by several times, I finally made the trek to The Donut Palace today. After a trip to Lamar’s Donuts in KC a few weeks back, I’d been craving a great donut(specifically a white iced long-john) ever since, and wanted to do the mom/pop instead of grocery(Schnucks, Dierbergs) or chain(Krispy Kreme, Dunkin). I’d say my experience and donuts were average, at best. I made the mistake of not pricing my order before choosing, and was very surprised when my order for two donuts(apple fritter and long john) was over $ 6. Put another way, for another $ 1 – 2 I could have gotten a full dozen donuts at Schnucks. As other reviews alluded to, the apple fritter is very large. Not doubt about it. Would be ok paying $ 3 max for it. But it must have been $ 4. Decent taste, but not the best I’ve had(Donut Drive In in South City has them beat, easy). The long john was a little tough and not exactly what I’d been craving here lately. I ordered around 7:40, so I don’t think they had been sitting out for too long… but it sure tasted like day olds, or day before donuts. I would probably try them again if I could find the coupon I read about in other reviews. I felt a little stupid for paying over $ 6 for two donuts that were average at best. If you have a local(read: delicious) donuts craving, drive to Donut Drive In or Old Town Donuts. I think The Donut Palace is just going through the motions — nothing unique, special, or inviting about it. At least this location.

Excited to write my hundredth review about such great donuts! Loved the classic counter and friendly hospitality in ellisville! The blueberry cake was awesome, and the caramel raised was not overwhelmingly sweet. All very tasty! Will definitely come back next time I am in stl. Great prices and no fancy flavors needed. Just good donuts!

I visited a second time to see if I went on a bad day since other reviews were so over the top positive. This was much worse of a visit 1. Service… hire someone that doesn’t hate their job, the girl behind the counter was rude and obviously didn’t want to be there at all. 2. Over priced compared to competition in this area 3. Donuts are average, dierbergs bakery is every bit as good, these are not special or stand out in anyway 4. Fritter, I didn’t try again, it was delicious on my 1st visit but at $ 4 a piece no thanks. 5. Jelly filled still nothing special, just massive amounts of filling that is just bland average filling, if it was fresh made filling this would be amazing but tastes like the standard jelly pumped into everyone’s donut. I’ve had voodoo bakery so i might be harsh in my judgement of this place but if you go to Denver Colorado and eat a donut there you will not give this place 5 stars … no comparison lol

Size does really matter! Especially when it comes to donuts. Well The Donut Palace is totally packing with their Jelly Donut, Apple Fritter, Long Johns and any other filled donut you may find in their display case. Not only are some of the donuts produced at the Donut Palace massive, they are exceptionally tasty as well. For instance, the Jelly Donut: there is so much jelly in this donut that you need a pack of wet wipes to clean yourself up after your finished eating it. It is otherworldly. The apple fritters here are the size of the state of Texas! This fritter is a large blob of deep fried sweet doughy apply yumminess. Sharing one of these with my husband is the only way I can indulge in this and not feel too guilty to live with myself. Eating one of these babies is an elevating experience.(especially when you step on the scale the next day) My daughter likes the chocolate long johns which have the dimensions of a brick. You can also have them filled with custard or cream if you desire. I cant say much about any of the other offerings here because I cant get past the above mentioned items to try anything else. They do have a lot to choose from with donuts containing sprinkles, candy toppings & the basic glazed & cinnamon slab. There are also a variety of decorated sugar cookies to choose from. This place gets really crazy on the weekends so be prepared to come in, take a number and wait it out. It moves quick though and is totally worth it.

By far the best donuts in the area! They have your basics covered: glazed, cake: plain, glazed, chocolate iced, vanilla iced, cinnamon, sugar, caramel, coconut… OMG I can’t list them all… plus big«fluffy» long johns that melt in your mouth, cinnamon rolls, twist, jelly filled… oozing with filling and APPLEFRITTERS! Service is always quick and courteous. These people can move a line! Knowing what you want is a bonus. If you are getting for a group have them choose, they know what people like when it comes to donuts. I thought I might as well have a coffee while I’m there. It is brewed to order… how cool is that! Hot, fresh and one of the best coffees I have ever had!

This place is pretty close to my homestead but I hadn’t ever stopped by. Some months ago there was a snazzy coupon for it though, so I went there, loved it, and have been going back since for my doughnut needs. The doughnuts are delicious, and the raised/yeast glazed are my favorite – although the more exotic specialty ones are fun too! The coffee is tasty too and with a good deal of seating you can sit and enjoy your doughnuts if desired, or get a dozen to go(for a great price) if you are in a hurry. The employees are very nice, always happy to answer any questions I might have about the items. Plus, as they don’t just have doughnuts but carry cookies too they will eagerly discuss what neat cookie flavors they have that day(I’ve had a snicker doodle before and it was cool). The location is pretty accessible – just a bit off Manchester – so you have no reason not to go and experience the best doughnuts in Ballwin!

Another success visit. Service is excellent. Friendly. Patient. Wrapped every one of my filled donuts. Thanks! They have blueberry cake with no glazed for those that don’t want the extra sugar. It’s really tasty without the glazed. They also have the blueberry cake with glazed. The filled donuts are always a hit. They truly have more filling than any other donut I’ve had. Amazing flavors too. Not only delicious raspberry and lemon. They have chocolate crème, custard, and the white icing. Also got two apple fritters and they were delicious as always. Not hard like others. I even got to use a coupon from the cowbell race! Awesome donuts!

I could not help myself — got up at 6 a.m., to make sure I could get apple fritters. Four apple fritters($ 3.83 ea) fit into a box that’s meant for a dozen doughnuts. That gives you some understanding of how big these things are. They had samples of the cinnamon roll, so I got one of those, too($ 1.67). Otherwise, in the box went: two chocolate long johns($ 1.17 ea) one vanilla long john($ 1.17 ea) four old fashioned($.86 ea) two devil’s food chocolate cake doughnuts(($.86 ea) one raised chocolate frosted doughnut($.86 ea) one raised vanilla frosted doughnut($.86 ea) And a cup of coffee. Sitting there with my cup of coffee and two boxes of sweetness, I ate ¼ of an apple fritter, enjoyed the coffee, and that was as far as my sweet tooth would go. The apple fritter was spectacular. Everything else went home, and I never saw it again. I’d call that successful.

Best donuts I’ve ever had– hands down! I’m a huge donut fan, and I’m picky. But these fit the bill in every way. Favorites include: long john(I like vanilla best), Apple fritter(it’s huge!), blueberry old fashion, and donut holes to top it off!

Yummy goodness. Donuts the size of your head. While this was a quick in, quick out kind of trip, my mouth was salivating all the way home. I wanted to eat the box before it made it home. The jelly filled is where it is at. So much more jelly then other said jelly filled. The long johns are good as well. Really, there isn’t a bad donut in the bunch. If you are in WC and get a hankering for some donuts, and it is before 2 pm(or noon on Sunday) stop on by! You won’t be sorry.
