I don’t live over the bridge. So I am not a Ben’s Store patron. I don’t come from the neighborhoods near the elementary and middle schools. So I am not a fan of the State Street Market. I hale from the Bayside where Mikes Store(est. 1897) is king. What is there not to like about a convenience store where the oil stained wood floors have been providing goods to locals for over 100 years? This store has something to offer patrons of all ages. While in my single digits I remember biking or walking with friends to Mikes with 50 cents in my pocket to raid the penny candy and take a quick glimpse at girly magazines(after viewing I would often times be very confused about what I just saw). In my teens I loved ordering one of their amazing pizzas and chugging down a Pepsi Big Slam. Now its as a good place to grab a six pack or the local newspaper. Word of warning. If you wish to purchase smokes or alcohol and you have an out of state license you may not be able to buy your favorite adult products.
