Shaw’s-Osco

If I had to choose between here and the Hannaford right up the street, I’d keep driving to the Hannaford. If you are headed out of town towards bangor, the Friends and Family market is a great shop local choice.
This Shaws is just an average big box grocery store. More often then not, lines are long with few baggers.
I shop here when there is a sale for a targeted item or someone gives me a gift card, otherwise I keep driving.

This is a great shaws supermarket! With great things and just being great. This is a great supermarket!
When you enter the area. You see the appealing looks of the store. Like the iconic tan color. And blue in the pharmacy! And the decorations are quite nice! Like the unique tree in the main room. And the encouragement photos near the bathroom! And the staff is great! They’re really chatty and polite!
My only complaint is that the pulse checker is quite iffy! When you start the pulse check. It binds way too tightly around your arm! It even hurts it! And the check takes so long! So the pain ensues! And the results were inaccurate! All of my friends got results like a pulse of 64 and 42. And we all got
prehypertension!
Overall. This is a quite decent grocery store! If you want a great place for shopping. Go here!

A few of these around… A good grocery with longer hours than Hannaford’s. Not as maw and pop. Hope the continue local foods… I like the local Co-​ops but there is much more here.

I really like this grocery store. It’s good-​sized but not overwhelming, well-​stocked, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Like all Shaw’s, most things are discounted with the card, so make sure you ask for one, or just ask them to swipe one for you so you can get the discount, which they’ll be happy to do. Much like at Safeway, you can typically save about 20% that way. They also offer free samples some times. Most recently they had samples of some really good chocolate chip cookies. This is my favorite place in the Ellsworth-​Trenton-​Bar Harbor area to do a big grocery shopping, both because of the prices and the shopping experience.
