Better than most and an extra star for a stellar mailing list that doesn’t over-saturate me with too many emails but offers great deals. Not my first stop when I’m ready to just wander aisles looking for something(that would be Rays) but since Wine Cellar is closer to home and the liquor store situation in Stallis is weirdly pathetic, they fill a good niche for me. The staff is helpful without being pushy and well-conversant in wine in a way that isn’t snobby or obnoxious. The whole place is just open and accessible and makes me want to buy some bottles and have a glass.

If you want anyone with any knowledge wait till the owners get there. They have one not very pleasant employee who never seems to know anything.

As random as it may sound, I found the Wine Cellar of Wisconsin through buying baseball tickets from the owner, Joel, via Craigslist. Who said non-creepy things didn’t happen on CL?! With Joel’s assistance, I purchased a bottle of 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Kendal Jackson Grand Reserve and a sixer of New Glarus Spotted Cow. Thanks to the purchase, we saved money on a couple $ 8 ball park beers and also numbed the pain of a pretty boring baseball game.

My favorite wine store in the area. Good selection, good prices(in fact, I believe they will match any local competitor’s advertised price). The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful, and have given me several thoughtful recommendations on wines over the years. In the last year or so they have branched out with a craft beer selection. I’m not a beer drinker so I don’t have any feedback on that aspect of the business. **TIP** Sign up for their email newsletter. They send alerts about email-only specials on wines at amazing pre-release prices. You can buy by the bottle or the case, which I appreciate(I mean, the not having to buy a whole case thing…). I have discovered some of my own personal favorite wines through these email newsletters. And it never hurts to have a few extra bottles around to bring as gifts during the holidays!

Wine Cellar is always my first stop! Once a month they have fun tastings for only $ 5 and they always have a great selection! The men that work there are so nice. I have been trying to track down a Zinfandel since late 2009 and they always have suggestions of things that I might like. The best part? They really help cut deals for their customers. This way you get the best price for the best wines! If you are into beers, they have opened up a new(er) section in the back with a really interesting variety. It is nice to check out even if you are not that into beers.

A pretty good wine store, located in the same strip mall as Takara. Wine Cellar has a decent stock and very good prices. They really try to compete with Rays but the selection just isn’t as deep. The stock tends to favor domestic producers and will suit those with Robert Parker palates(think big, juicy, oaky wines). I’m more of a simple, earthy, dry drinker who favors European wines so this isn’t my first stop. However, if I lived in Brookfield and didn’t have to pass Rays to get here, I’d probably stop more often. They are really friendly & helpful with recommends if you want them.

The Wine Cellar of Wisconsin is by far, the best place to go for a great selection of wines of all price ranges. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. In addition, they have a fantastic selection of beer and the sales are off the wall! Highly recommended!
