Four of us went to «Roaming Dee’s Pub and Grill,» formerly«Cobber’s By The Creek» for lunch yesterday. We were very disappointed in that the menu has changed and that our favorites are no longer on the menu. There are NO healthy choices on the menu anymore. We would always get the personal pan pizza, tacos, soup and salads. Don’t look for these on the menu anymore, because they aren’t there. We were happy to see that our regular waitress was still there. The front dining room has changed, in that it no longer has booths. There are high tables and stools, and low tables which is where we sat. Our food was good we has the chicken fingers which were huge, and looked like ribs on my brother’s plate loaded with Bar-B-Q sauce. He was only able to eat one, and a few french fries. He said they were very good. Two of us had the Roast Beef on Weck which was very good. I had the chicken sandwich which was on a Wheat Roll, and that was good as well. Our only complaint is that the options on the menu have changed, and it is basically just bar food. We have been here numerous times, and honestly, I’m not sure that we would return. :(

This is my hubbys favorite place for seafood chowder. They use a roasted red pepper base with a nice amount of seafood chunks. This is a sure thing if you come here. If you ask hubby this place gets 5 stars just for the chowder. Good thing he is not writing this. The sweet potato fries are excellent. They are covered in honey butter already and still nice and crispy. I licked my fingers clean, embarrassed the hubby in the process. That was just a side benefit :) The have a small menu but a good variety. We had the chicken quesadilla and the chicken finger sub. It was bar food. Not much else to say. Bonus if you are a golfer… You can play inside and out here. They have a small bar area as well where you can people watch golfers like me who should stick to putt putt.

Cobber’s got its name because local corn-on-the-cob fanatics wanted a watering hole that was all their own. Other bars were themed after sports or fancy cars, but no other bar had a corn-on-the-cob theme. Until now. Never would enthusiasts of the world-famous delicacy«COTC» as it’s colloquially known, have to be forced to intermingle with inferior, less interesting, less attractive, non-COTC enthusiasts(aka«mere mortals» aka«the unlightened.») Cobber’s is a pretty cool place with good food and lots of very good looking Buffalonian Elma-ian clientele. Some of the best looking women in the area, I’ve seen at this place. In fact I suspect that the owners are actually paying good looking women to come to this place, just to give the impression that the best looking women in the area come to this place. Which tells me two things. One, the owners have more money than sense. And two, that I should come here. Oh, and it’s always absolutely packed especially when Sahlens Sports Park. So if you want to be around people… lots of good looking soccer players(which goes without saying really since they are soccer players)… you totally need to go here. I’ve been hearing a lot about the food here. I’ll be editing my review once I try a few things on the menu.

Cobbers has really become the late night spot to be in Elma the last year or so. Close to Sahlen’s Sports Park so it’s a good place to have some wings and some cold beers after soccer. The beef on weck is the best in the area and you can even get it with wings or fingers. Speaking of fingers they are huge! Whole chicken breasts that are flattened out, coated in panko, and deep fried to a nice golden brown. I’m not one for golf but in the summer it’s nice to grab a beer and a bucket of balls and use their driving range. In the winter the cyber golf is the only place in WNY that has simulators to practice your swing. A large selection of bottled beers makes it a great place to watch hockey or even bet on horses with OTB.
