Bar Bill has the best beef on weck hands down. Large portions and very tender beef. We also love the chicken wings and think they are the best around too. It gets rather busy at times but is worth the wait.

Prepare for a long wait and cramped quarters. Those are generally game breakers for me when choosing a restaurant, but I am pleased that my girlfriend kept bugging me to go. We arrived at 2:30 last Saturday and were met with a line out the door. Fortunately it was a rare 48 degree day in January so we hung out. Around 3:20 we were seated. The drinks came quickly, they have a decent beer list. The beef on weck is hand sliced behind the bar and is excellent. The wings are justifiably famous. They were crispy and the sauce seems hand painted on the wings which keeps the crispy. I like hot food, but was convinced by the waitress to only get the medium hot as their sauces are hotter than normal. I am glad I did, as they are significantly hotter than most places especially when you oder the wings extra saucy, as I did. The sauce was amazing, I could taste the peppers in the sauce, it wasn’t just Frank’s and butter. It was also thicker almost like BBQ sauce, Delicious. The honey BBQ was also good if you don’t like heat. Would I go back? Absolutely, but it will be an occasional visit during off hours.

The best place in the world for wings. I don’t eat beef on weck but if I did I would also get one of those. Get there early as the place is small so going with a big group is tough. The fries are delicious as well. Love the medium and honey butter BBQ sauces. Also check out Aurora brew works next store or 42 north Brewer which is down the street.

Omg came here last year and the wings are good size and so crispy. Love the sauce medium. And had a nice kick to it. We split a beef on weck. the beef is so tender and prepared as you order. Meat piled high. We also shared an order of beer battered fries.fries. I had the Founders Ale. found wasn’t too fond of it. The place is packed and limited seating eat and go and yet u do not feel rushed. Def will be back

Hands down, the best wings in Buffalo. I like the Sicilian and their famous spicy barbecue wings. It gets a little packed especially on Tuesdays, but it’s worth it! I highly recommend the Bar Bill. It’s a great place to take out of town visitors that want good Buffalo wings!

Cash only. I hate that. BUT this time we had the funds to cover a $ 70 lunch tab for 3. Beef on weck sandwiches, waffle cut fries, an order of wings and a couple of beers. Surprisingly this place elevates the idea of bar food. The menu is not extensive — in fact there are no burgers(at least not on a Sunday). But there are delicious wings and very good beef. The beer list was ample, certainly enough to satisfy different tastes. They do a few things well, and that always makes me happy. Despite reading about other diners’ bad service, I experienced just the opposite. Great waitress.

Went on a busy Sunday night with a group of 4. After getting a table, some waters, and a few beers, we all placed our orders. I ordered 30 wings split 2 ways, extra crispy AND extra saucy(along with a beef on weck). I know that it takes extra long to have wings made extra crispy, and I was doubtful that with how crowded the restaurant was they would show up exactly how I ordered. I was wrong! After about 40 minutes our wings arrived and they were easily some of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly crispy and extra saucy, exactly how I’d ordered. Full of flavor, a little heat, and the sandwich was phenomenal. I’ve eaten a LOT of chicken wings all over the Buffalo area, and these are right there at the very top, I can’t say enough good about them. The only thing holding this review back from a perfect 5 stars was the service, we had to wait and eventually get up and find our server to get the bill. Cash only too, which can make things a little inconvenient.

The food at Bar Bill is good. The wings are good and the beef on weck is good. There are better versions of both in WNY but its still in the top quarter I’d say. The problem here is that because its a very small place, and busy, if you go around dinner time it is intolerably packed. More than half of their tables are within 6′ of the bar, and are low top, standard tables. So once you do get a table(expect a long wait, no call aheads), unless you get one in the front room, you can look forward to having many standing bar patrons butts in your face and bumping into you while you eat. Imagine a bar that is too crowded to try to walk to the bathroom, and then sitting down in the middle of it to eat. Its a cool place, but go at lunchtime or in the afternoon.

Visited Bar Bill with a large group on Christmas Eve. The waitress handled our craziness very well, checked in on us and refilled drinks before anyone could realize they were in need of one, very impressed. Our group ordered several double orders of wings. Myself, I greatly enjoyed the Sicilian, because really, can you go wrong with anything topped with fresh Parm on top?! Being a fan of «fats versus flats» the wings were quite meeting and nicely flavored. In addition, I enjoyed a side of the vanilla sweet potato fries, excellent flavor, nice and deliciously flavored. I will definitely visit again when out this way!

I instantly fell in love with the Bar Bill. Being from the Southern Tier, my husband and I will make this our stop on the way to a Sabres game. This place is as authentic as it gets. Service is always friendly and hands down the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. I don’t know how they do it, but the skin is so crispy and sauce is the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Like many old school places in western New York, be sure to bring cash. They don’t accept credit or debit.

We were forced to travel to East Aurora on this lovely Wednesday afternoon due to our cats needing to get fixed. So naturally we decided to go to Bar Bill since we have always talked about going but never gotten a chance to. We came in and walked to. Small high top table where the menus are already shoved into the condiment rack. The bartender came over and took our drinks fairly quickly and brought them back out. She also took our order and informed us since we ordered the wings hot that they are hotter then normal… Which we appreciated. We ordered a regular beef on weck split in half and order of ten wings, half hot and half cajun. We waited about 10 minutes for another round of drinks and another 10 minutes after that for our food … The service wasn’t exactly fast but it was pretty busy being lunchtime and all. Our beef on weck was very tasty and the ju was flavorful. I don’t normally eat sandwiches but I felt the need to get this here today … I made the right choice. The wings came out looking perfect since they so paint the sauce on them and all. Perfectly cooked, perfectly sauced and just plain perfect. The hot were definitely not your normal hot … It’s the kind that catches up with you … Very good! The cajun were bomb with the dry spices and great flavor. I probably could have eaten twenty by myself if this hadn’t been lunchtime. My BF and I both agreed these were in fact our new favorite wings … Too bad we lives about 35 minutes away … Casual ambiance, friendly staff and amazing food! I even got some swag … Two koozies and a t-shirt! So after the swag, ten wings split sauce, reg beef on weck, two draft beers and two soda waters … Came to about $ 68 … And with that my friends, we will be back!

While Christmas shopping in East Aurora a couple of weekends ago, we decided to stop in for a bite to eat at Bar Bill based on the good reviews that I had read on Unilocal. I decided that we would go earlier in the afternoon versus going around dinner time knowing that it would be crowded during that time frame. We arrived around 3:20PM and the hostess told us that it would be at least 45 minutes for a table. Yikes! Not wanting to wait around, we went over to Vidlers(Yay Vidlers!) for a bit and then returned around 4:30. Still almost an hour wait for a table, but at this point, I was determined that we would wait it out in order to try their wings. Keep in mind that this place is relatively small, so chances are good that it is always going to be crowded during a weekend visit. After viewing the photos of the Sicilian wings on here, I knew that I had to try them, despite the fact that they are not listed on the menu. The Beef On Weck looked very tempting, but I had to go for those wings. Sig other got ½ an order of Honey BBQ Butter and ½ Teriyaki. I give them extra credit for allowing us to split the order at no extra cost as I know other places that will not allow it, or they want to charge you for it. While I won’t go as far as to say that these are the best wings in Buffalo, they were certainly good and lived up to most of their hype. Given the fact that we ended up with a table right next to the kitchen door, I found it interesting that the staff coats each wing with a basting brush versus the traditional«sauce shake-up» in bowls. I thought that was cool as well as the nice presentation of them all laid out in the serving tray versus them thrown into a big messy pile. The Sicilian wings had a tart, garlicky kick blended with the tang of freshly cut Parmesan cheese. The Teriyaki were a mess of sticky goodness topped with sesame seeds. All wings were nice and crispy on the outside, while meaty and juicy on the inside. The only minor disappointment for me(besides the lengthy wait to get a table) was the Honey Butter BBQ wings. These seemed lacking quite a bit in the flavor department, but then again, I prefer my wings either X-tra hot or packed with lots of flavor. This flavor would be recommended for someone that prefers a much milder wing. Other side note: They make their own bleu cheese dipping sauce. It was okay… I’ve had better and worse. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and our meal. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs despite the heavy crowds. We had at least three people wait on us, although the first waitress did advise us that her shift was nearing completion. I would give Bar Bill an A for their friendly staff, an A for their food, and a B for overall cleanliness(I felt that the men’s bathroom needed some slight TLC).

This is my favorite place for wings. Though the drive is a bit far, I assure you any driving and wait time is worth it. These are the best wings you will ever have. Be sure to order extra sauce, their beef on wreck is also quite amazing. There is limited seating, you cannot get take out or call ahead majority if the time. Though they have a very small menu, I think it helps with the exceptional food time and time again. ALSOBRINGCASH! It’s a cash only joint but there is an atm on site!

Wings are out of this world! The beef on weck is my favorite in Buffalo and this place is in such a cute location on Main St. in charming East Aurora. Don’t let the tiny space get you down, the food is definitely worth it. Don’t forget to try the blue cheese too! Not sure what they put into it but it tastes amazing!

These are my favorite wings in the world. The wings are crispy and juicy, crunchy; I think they bake and fry them, not sure how they do it but they are the best for sure. The beef on weck is alright, not as flavorful as Charlie the Butcher’s but still worth the original label. This place is friggin’ amaziing. Just a heads up it gets packed during the weekends and the bar is pretty small. I’m a big dude and have a lot of trouble fitting there. I have to literally bend down to get to a table so I don’t hit my head. I still don’t care, the wings in my opinion are the best in Buffalo. Best wings in Buffalo: 1. Bar Bill 2. Duffs 3. Elmo’s 4. Gabriel’s Gate last. Anchor bar

I realize that East Aurora is a bit of a drive for many people in Buffalo. I’m telling you right now– This is worth the drive! I loved everything about Bar Bill. The food, the bar, the casual atmosphere– it was all exactly what I was looking for, not to mention very reasonable prices! I went with a group of four friends for dinner. Instead of ordering one thing each, we decided to order a bunch of different meals and split them. Everything that I tried was out of this world– Buffalo’s specialties at their finest! My favorite wings were the Honey Butter BBQ– simply mouthwatering! I also loved the Medium wings(Buffalo sauce with extra spices. This sauce is in a league of its own) and the Sicilian wings(garlic sauce and Parmesan cheese). I have been told that the Cajun wings and Spicy BBQ wings are very good as well. We ordered a side of the Bar Bill Fries. These were not on the menu. They were recommended to us. I am so happy we got them! They are thick potato wedges topped with bleu cheese and Bar Bill wing sauce– delicious! I also had a bite of my friend’s Beef on Weck and it was perfect! They carve the roast beef right at the bar. I really like the layout of the bar. The lighting is very low with several neon signs on the walls. There is a large bar in the middle of the restaurant. They have seating in the restaurant and on the outdoor patio. There are tons of fun Buffalo and wing-themed decorations throughout the restaurant. They’ve created an effortlessly cool atmosphere. I like that Bar Bill recognizes its specialty dishes and sticks to them. They don’t feel the need to have a ten-paged menu. Bar Bill makes fantastic chicken wings, beef on weck and fries(of all varieties). If you don’t like any of those, then I would recommend going elsewhere for food. However, if you are a fan of ANY of those three things, Bar Bill is a MUST! I already can’t wait to go back! Tip: Bar Bill does not take credit cards OR reservations. There were seven tables ahead of us when we put our names on the waiting list. We didn’t mind the 30 minute wait at all. We killed time sitting at the bar and drinking Blue Moon.

This place is without doubt THE spot for the best wings in the Buffalo area. We got traditional medium sauce and it was incredible… and the wings were perfectly crispy. My boyfriend and I also got a roast beef sandwich and since we got there at 10:30am(yes, they serve super early! Perfect after a late night in Buffalo) we got the first cuts. We both agreed that this may be the best roast beef sandwich in western NY. Their bloody marys are also to-die for. This place may seem like just another dive bar, but you are truly missing out if Bar Bill’s isn’t on your Buffalo itinerary. It’s certainly worth the 15 minute detour from city center.

Best wings in Buffalo. Best wings in the world. I’ve never had a bad wing. Always hot. Always perfectly crispy. Always delicious. Their sauces are the best buffalo sauces I’ve ever tasted, and they’re all unique. Each hotness level(mild, medium, medium-hot) has a totally different flavor than the last(along with being hotter). Each flavor is so robust and vibrant, I get a different one every time I go. Warning: ‘medium’ is pretty hot, ‘medium-hot’ is VERYHOT, by the time I tried one of my friend’s ‘hot’ wings I couldn’t taste anything. Aside from the wings, all of their food is delicious. The cheddar jalepeno poppers and their pizzas are simple, yet amazing. Bar Bill is cash only. That is the major downside. They’re probably not losing business over it, but it’s an inconvenience. They also don’t split checks — at all. So not only do you have bring cash, you have to play the«who owes what» game with your friends. There is an ATM, but to avoid fees and to get smaller bills, I just walk across the street and do cash-back at Rite-Aide. The other downside(in a way) is the building/seating. It’s a bar first, restaurant second. There is very limited seating, if you get there after 5:00pm, you’re gonna have to wait a while. It’s always packed. Since it’s always packed, the food takes forever to come out because they have a very small kitchen. It takes a long, long time to see your food. Be prepared to wait.

We were back, Again driving to an AGS Conference, this time in Westfield, MA. We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday instead of dinner. Much less crowded. So the service was fairly quick. Had the Beef on Weck again as I so enjoyed it the last time. Did an order of fries which were good, The beef is sliced so thin, by hand, This amazes me. The sandwich is made perfectly, it does not fall apart, tyhe roll is nice and get the au jus and try some horseradish on it! I stop by when we pss through East Aurora at meal times, it does not fail!

4.5 stars… I searched out the opinions of many native Buffalo residents on the best place to go for the classic buffalo wings and beef on weck and Bar Bill Tavern just south of Buffalo in East Aurora kept coming up. Not only are they one of the best places to go for either dish but they’re one of the only places that does both equally well. Beef on weck($ 10) for those not familiar is a regional favorite. It’s a basic sandwich comprised of roast beef on a salt and caraway topped roll(which the top of the roll is briefly dipped in the beef’s au jus) and often topped with horseradish. Thankfully the horeradish is sitting on the tables(or bar) so you can choose your level or lack thereof of it. In addition to the classic buffalo wings they also have other sauces such as BBQ and garlic parmesean(aka«sicilian» for $ 1 extra). You can get the wings($ 10⁄10 or $ 19⁄20) all in one sauce or you can divide it up for $ 1 more. Options for the classic buffalo sauce come in mild, medium, medium-hot, hot, and extra hot. My girlfriend wanted to order the medium hot but after a warning from the bartender ordered the medium instead which ended up having very little heat. Medium hot would have definitely been a better choice if you want to feel the heat without the pain. The beef on weck is hand sliced to order at a special station behind the bar was absolutely amazing. The meat could have been a little more pink but it was perfectly tender and juicy as it was. My only regret is splitting the sandwich. It would have been nice if the chips that came with it were better than your classic Lays but otherwise I had no complaints. The wings which took awhile to come out of the kitchen were delicious. Possibly the best I’ve ever had but not drastically different than other great wing places I’ve been to. They were perfectly crispy and we loved the honey butter bbq, the garlic parmesean, and despite the lack of heat, the medium as well. The buffalo wings weren’t drenched in a sauce like the other two sauces were but were still incredibly flavorful and the blue cheese sauce that came with them was better than any blue cheese dip I’ve ever had. The one thing I’d advise is that the place is tiny, just the bar and handful of tables, so keep that in mind, especially if you’re considering coming during a busy time.
