Prior to all of Gap moving to the ground floor of Queens Center Mall, I had some good experiences. But the past few times at the new Gap location has been horrible. Like most people have mentioned, there is a limited collection, lack of employees and insanely long lines. My experience today was 5 minutes of shopping for some socks and 30 minutes of waiting in line to pay. I started waiting when there were four people in front of me and it was going well for ten minutes until a lady was trying to pull up a coupon or email on her phone. There were only two employees at the counter. One was busy on a phone call and some papers(seems like a manager) and the other was occupied by the coupon-seeking lady. The line was held up for a good 15 minutes because no one was available to help us. Everyone was getting impatient because the line was getting longer and longer but the employees didn’t seem to budge. When the manager finally got off her phone call, she proceeded to fold clothes and ignore all the glaring stares from the customers. There was another associate on the floor fixing clothes near the line and she didn’t seem to care either. They finally got a confused employee from the other Gap department to come over to help. And as she came along, the manager walked away. Even the employees were upset that the she didn’t help out. I don’t understand how a store like Gap can’t handle the limited amount of customers on a Monday afternoon. Either hire more employees or train them better. The moment the employee was held up, she should’ve called for other associates to assist. The manager was the most ridiculous, trying to occupy herself with clothes-folding duty, ignoring the long lines and walking away. I definitely saw a few customers walk off the line and put their items back. I think this is a problem with this specific Gap location as I’ve had better experiences at other places. It shouldn’t take me over half an hour just to buy a few pairs of socks.

For some reason the selection seems so small at this location. I love the Gap, Inc. but I need more of a selection to choose from.

Always seems like there are only 2 people working the entire store. Lines are always ridiculously long and the place is never organized. This is the worst gap I’ve ever been in. Do yourself a favor and just order online.

Well organized, friendly employees, but really messy fitting rooms. The fitting rooms had leftover hangers and clothing, there were clothing racks in front of the larger mirrors right outside the room to help you look at the full outfit, and the lighting was off. That is a big turn off when I am deciding if I will buy clothes or not. Not a fan of this Gap location.

I went looking for something specific. Perhaps what I was looking for was out of season. In any case, the store did not seem to have much merchandise. Much of the floor seemed empty in the way that fancier stores often try to look — with lots of exposed floor space and few racks. The store was clean and orderly, but for me, it was a wasted trip.
