This is my parents go-to for dinner gatherings. My parents are buddies with management and some of the wait-staff so my review is going to be biased. Eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Came for family members’ birthdays, holiday gatherings and even my son’s 1 month dinner. The salt and pepper pork chops are a crowd pleaser for both Chinese and western palettes. Other dishes I recommend are the peking duck, and shrimp and walnuts w/mayo sauce. Their steamed fish is excellent as well as it comes straight from the tank. This is a restaurant that serves family sized portions so it’s best to come with at least a group of 4 as the dishes are definitely meant for sharing. The one downside of Ping’s is its sub par dim sum. For most people, it may be adequate but I prefer the Flushing dim sum scene. For a group dinner though, this place is legit. Also, if you’re having trouble finding parking they have a lot across the street.

Average dim sum place that is lacking in options, but is a convenient option for people such as myself — who live in the Forest Hills-Rego Park area, who don’t want to travel all the way to Flushing for dim sum. I went again today, after a several years of not having visited the place and even wondered if it was open because from our car, it looked very run down. However, once we saw people go in, so did we. It was OK, but even pre-Chinese New Year(today), it wasn’t so packed.

Pings used to be my where I’d take friends or my parents would have family gatherings, but that was over 10 years ago. Quality and cleanliness has gone downhill quite some time ago, change of management didn’t really seem to help. This would still be the ideal location for my parents’ weekly dim sum with our relatives but they’d rather head over to the ones on broadway. The last time I sampled their food was years ago, when my parents picked up a couple of dishes for a family gathering out of convenience. It was so bland and the portions was so small… I’m glad they’re finally opening some dim sum spots on Broadway since my parents still have dim sum on the weekends with relatives. For me, dim sum is more of a once a year«treat»? though when«Ping’s» used to be good and I lived only a few minutes away, I did eat it more often. Whenever I’m in the area, if I pass by I always take a look through the window and it’s always pretty empty…

This place was O-kay… It is definitely not the best Dim Sum place I’ve been to. The food tend to be on the oily side even though I told them less oil… They don’t listen to you! Kinda pricey compared to those Dim Sum places in Flushing, but I guess its pretty reasonable since it is the only place in the neighborhood. I don’t think I will come back. Place is very crammed and the waitresses are always grilling you if you do takeout. Also the portions of each dish is very small so beware. For 2 people, my boyfriend and I spend a little over $ 60. Not worth the wait or money.

Dim sum was not very good and selection poor. No shrimp dumpling(har gow)? No XLB? Beef chow fun was a bit dry and bland. Understand this may be a convenient option for locals, which is why we came, but I wouldn’t come back.

Came today to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday for dimsum and ordered special dishes. It was supposed to be a happy day! The service was good in the beginning but towards the end of our lunch… Service was bad. The food quality has gone down the hill. The taste of their food is either too oily or has less flavor. I used to come here a lot and enjoy the food. The main reason we were displeased was the service towards the end. We FIRST ordered one dessert dish of fried red bean triangular. When it came, the other table across from us kept chanting to have it. The waiter didn’t know what to do and the manager said to give it to that table. We felt like it was unfair and also just because you guys are friends… That doesn’t mean you treat us differently. When we were done with our food… NOONE came to approach us. We asked one of the waiters to give us take out containers and told us he’ll do it later. We waited for 10 minutes and no response. At least, tell or ask the other workers to help the customers but no! My husband had to ask another waiter. Finally, someone from Ping’s waiter came to help. *** I would not recommend anyone to come here unless you are really good friends with the managers.

If you’re living in along queens blvd there’s pretty limited authentic chinese restaurants. You got this and the other one on Broadway. Pings is pretty overpriced for the food they have… but they won’t mess it up. The most interesting dish I’ve had there was the crispy duck/almond dish.

This places in terms of dim sum has gone downhill. I use to love coming to Ping’s for dim sum. Now I feel like the food quality is not what it use to be. It’s such a shame.

You know when you go to a Chinese Restaurant to get your fix? Well thats what me and two people did. We wanted to dim sum, so we called ahead since it was dinner. They said yes, they have dim sum. We head there, it was menu only dim sum… oook fine. We ordered pan fried noodle, duck, some dim sums and also salt and pepper pork chop. The pork chop was mainly breading, no meat at all. The noodle came late, the gravy wasn’t that good. We left with leftovers but it just didn’t hit the spot. We went to Roosevelt Ave after to get more things to eat. The service was really good. Try at your own risk or go somewhere else.

I went there for the first time last week. The place was crowded but they sat us within 5 min. We sat with a family but that was fine we do the same thing when we go to Chinatown. The place looks very clean. The staff was extremely friendly unlike some other places where if you’re not Asian you have a harder time getting the attention of the staff. The carts come by pretty regularly and have a good verity of dim sum. The dim sum we got was fresh hot and very tasty. I did notice the portions are smaller than Chinatown and cost a little more. If you don’t want to travel to Chinatown and want good dim sum this is your place.

Typical dimsum restaurant with lots of choices. Some might not be on cart but dim sum menu on table with pics. So look at it and order. They can host special events more than 100 ppl. Dim sum prices are resonable and I dont think any pre made frozen involvement. They served full menu all time too. My favourite is deep fried becon scallop wrap. Good go well with any beers. Fish big crabs, prawns, lobster swimming in tank, so we can expect fresh3 seafood. Yes, they have parking lot across the street for more than 30 cars. Pretty good for small event. 1. Try pan fry dumpling 2. Becon scallop wrap 3. Pork n Sticky rice wrap in leave. 4. Shumei 5. Beef veg with black bean sauce. Enjoy.

I have been coming here for dim sum for years and in terms of just the food, the food is good. The service is typical Chinese and they have a ton of large tables so if you go with a small group, sharing a table is very likely. But if you are lucky enough to get a small table on the right, it can be kinda difficult to get the attention of a cart lady. If you sit on the right, don’t mind being a little more aggressive, Chinese people do it, so stand up and flag down a lady if you have to. When you flag a lady you could ask to see what’s good and just point, say thank you and smile. There is also a parking lot across the street that belongs to the restaurant, think you might have to pay a dollar or two. This is an OK option for the Elmhurst area if you wanted to avoid the Flushing headache. The food: Shrimp Rice rolls– I normally love this dish, the crêpe was made well but I wasn’t all that crazy about the texture of the shrimp inside. The shrimp seemed kinda lifeless. Chicken Feet– I thought these were respectable. They had good flavor and they were cooked properly. Fried Crueller Crêpe– I don’t normally like this dish but it was made well. The crueller was still nice, crunchy and hot. Pie Qhat– The spare ribs with fermented black bean were respectable, they were nice and tender and I liked the flavor. Baked Pork Buns– I thought these were pretty good, the dough was nice and the filling was OK. Don Tot– The filling was nice, the flavor was what you would expect out of a don tot but I wish the crust was more flaky. Steamed beef tripe– I wasn’t all that crazy about this dish. The tripe was cooked OK, but the dish didn’t particularly have a lot of flavor.

We came here after being in Flushing all day and wanted to continue our Chinese food tour of Queens. We wanted dim sum, and the place in Flushing that was our first choice didn’t start dim sum until later, and we didn’t want to wait around. This place was a quick bus ride from home, so we did it! We went on a Saturday at dinner time and it was a little crowded but not bad. It got filled up but not crazy as the night went on. The atmosphere was fun — not cheesey or outdated, with live fish tanks that were clean, and the usual emblems and red draping curtains on the walls. I loved it. The dim sum is not on carts, or carried around — it’s actually the first page in their regular menu, and you just tell them what you want, and they bring it out as they make it. It’s actually kind of nice that way, but I will admit it takes away from a traditional«dim sum experience». The food itself was good and cheap, and typical dim sum, and the staff was really nice. Not a huge selection, but it can stop your craving.

The dim sum was OK here. Not sure if it was the timing but service was very slow, I had to ask the ladies for what I wanted in the cart. I am used to them calling out what they have. It was like pulling teeth to get the dishes that I wanted. Sometimes a girl just wants choices! The waiters on the other hand were very nice. Overall pretty good dim sum for Elmhurst.

I only frequent this place for dim sum. It is the closest thing to me without going to Flushing. The dim sum is pretty good, no complaints. Not having any plans with family this CNY cuz it falls in the middle of the week, I went to Ping’s with hubby to get a nice Cantonese meal. We came around 5pm and were literally the only ones there. We ordered clams with black bean sauce, walnut shrimp, Peking pork chops, and yeong chow fried rice. All of my fave stuff. If there were more ppl, we’d order more. The dishes came out pretty quickly. Everything was very good and fresh. Dinner came to about $ 60 so that’s really good. First time having dinner here, and will do so more often.

Out of all the dimsum places in Flushing and the only other establishment in Elmhurst, this is by far my favorite. Their chicken feet are simply marvelous, reminds me of the full flavor of the first chicken feet I’ve ever had in SH. If you are not a fan of feet-looking things, don’t worry. They do really well with all the other traditional dim sum dishes. The variety isn’t the greatest, but they are very generous with portions. The line is never as crazy as the ones in Flushing. at most 10 – 15 min wait on busy weekends. There is also a valet parking lot across the street from the restaurant, which is free with validation.

I really, really, really wanted to like this place. Not even love, just like would be okay with me. I moved out of Flushing some time ago and really wanted to have a closer option for Dim Sum– in Flushing there’s countless places competing with good food, good service, good prices. The first time I came here was such a huge disappointment. It was crowded, the service was terrible(c’mon, it’s dim sum– it’s NOT that hard to provide service: number, seat, tea, check), the dishes were extremely limited(again, dim sum! c’mon!) and half of the food was served luke warm. As I continued to come here, they only continued to disappoint me further. There is always a wait on weekends, regardless of time. The tables are messy, dirty, and the host is always borderline rude. One thing about dim sum– there is little to no service involved, so I am really not sure how you can mess up on this point, but Ping’s managed to. I really hate this place. With a passion. I have given them countless chances but I’ve decided flushing is now than worth the trip and parking. Ping’s has a pathetic variety of dim sum– served by grouchier-than-normal-ladies who zoom by every table without paying any attention to guests who are are starving. They rush around the room, then disappear to the back for thirty minutes while the food sit there to get cold and soggy. I’ve never once had one of these grouch-bots stop to offer me anything in their carts. In fact, when I finally successfully flag one down, they refuse to even show me what’s in their cart! What kind of evil nonsense is this? I’ve even asked for things and they just say, no, and push me a completely unrelated dish. This place infuriates me like you wouldn’t know. I only give them two stars for existing at all, as Elmhurst has a very, very limited selection for dim sum.

Good DIMSUM spot and best of all, they open early everyday! Recommended: — Ha Gow — Siu Mai — Beef Rice Noodle — Shrimp Rice Noodle aka Pai Gwut — Steamed Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce aka Fung Zao — Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce — Steamed Tofu Skin Roll aka Bean Curd Roll aka Fu Pei guen — Zha Leung — Beef Stewed Tripe Not a big restuaraunt but they do have BIG tables, definitely good for large parties. Reasonable prices compared to some dim sum reastaurants in Flushing! TIP: Go EARLY! Private parking lot for customers available!
