If you want delicious food and an unexpected and different environment from your usual Corona – or Queens – restaurants, Sabor Latino is a pretty good place to be. It’s easy to miss since it’s on a hidden street by Roosevelt but once you go, it’s hard to forget. It provides the comfort foods of Ecuadorian cuisine, but also offers other South American dishes like the Bandeja Montañera – or what is known as Bandeja Paisa for Colombians. They also have ribeye steak, baked salmon, a more citric version of chicken francese, as well as salad that you can add pretty much any kind of protein to(and the passion fruit dressing is great). This time I tried El Charro sushi from their new sushi options. The roll itself had kani, cream cheese, and avocado inside, and sat on a generous amount of guacamole and pico de gallo with tortilla chips. The price you pay at Sabor Latino for one of their sushi fusion dishes is less than what you might pay for a less elaborate and less filling sushi roll elsewhere. My friend had the Churrasco Ecuatoriano which was steak with sauteed onions, peppers, and tomatoes accompanied by sunny side up eggs, rice, fries, and salad. The entrees might seem pricey but you’re definitely getting your money’s worth of food in both quantity and quality. For dessert, we had the chocolate passionfruit mousse and the torta de maqueño. The mousse was fluffy and silky, perfectly sweetened, and had marshmallow fluff on top. The torta de maqueño is pretty much the plaintain version of bread pudding with added cheese. It might sound strange but cheese and plantains – whether in a sweet or savory context – is always a happy marriage in Latin treats. This is my favorite dessert here, but they are constantly offering different dessert specials so be on the look out. As for the décor and the service, I give both high marks. The waiters are attentive and if you go on Sundays the whole place is decorated with traditional Ecuadorian patterned table cloths, artisan masks and baskets.(The restaurant also offers a complementary appetizer). The waiters are also dressed in national outfits. It is quite the experience whether you go with an entire family or a friend or a date. Other dishes worth ordering are the Mote Pillo(grilled pork with hominy corn sauteed in a tasty scrambled egg, achiote, onion concoction), the Guatita(tripe in a peanut butter sauce), and the Cazuela(a thick seafood stew made of peanut butter). Definitely worth a visit on your cheat day or any day of the week!

It depends on what your preference is for such a location for dancing. Honestly it suites the wants for just unwinding if going with a date and trying to just dance the night away. So far while I have been here the music keeps going and keeps you on your feet regardless of the the choices of what may be heard or wanted. For a club that keeps playing music just keep at it. The only problem is the drinks for the prices. The prices can be kind of steep haha but then again that is what happens when you go to a club. Another issue is if do not keep ordering drinking they will end up making you give up your table. That issue is somewhat annoying. Also try to get here before 12 am or else the prices get higher and the bottle are around $ 212 a piece

So I went here for a baptism party and looks are deceiving. When you first walk in– to the right side it looks like a tiny restaurant but apparently to the left is a much larger room for parties and what not. I’m not a big fan of the neighborhood– it’s extremely congested as its right off Roosevelt Avenue so be sure to get there earlier to look for parking if you’re driving. I feel like if I would have went here in a small group — my experience would have been better. As I said I was apart of a large party so I’m going to be understanding about the service. I’d have to go back and try it again. I just felt the service was pretty bad. I asked for items several times that took over an hour to get to me– it was frustrating. Multiple people had to ask as well– I felt it was pretty disorganized for a group our size. So maybe try another place if you plan to have a large group. They didn’t seem to know what to do. But I do have to say– the food was very delicious. Again– it was a large group so the food was limited to just three dishes. I ordered the churrasco and it was very delicious. Definitely no complaints about the food!

This place sucks! I dont know who is writing reviews for this place but they seem biased. Food was not worth it. We got the seafood fried rice and chicken and rice and beans with eggs — all of which were served luke warm. Service was terrible! We went on a Thursday and they sat us next to the lounge area I guess. Then they proceeded to rush us out because the lounge opens at 10 with a $ 10 pp charge. It was 9PM! We paid our bill but was finishing up drinks when multiple waitresses approached us to tell us to leave or pay! Wtf! There were other patrons still eating but no one bothered them. We felt discriminated against. Soooo not worth the trip out there.

I have been here twice, once for a birthday dinner and the other because I missed the food here. Everything is delicious(I took the liberty of taking food from my family’s plates). I’ve had the grilled steak with rice and beans and maduros… I didn’t spare a crumb. I’d also like to mention that I am not the biggest fan of flan but the flan here was top-notch. I’d definitely come here again, especially for a celebration. The DJ, who cranks the music high at all hours — feel free to determine if that’s a something you like or not– plays good music, that accompanies the great food.

Amazing! The food is soooo good. Came here for a girls night out. During a late dinner a DJ showed up and a party started happening. It was great! nice place to dance. variety of music, not just latin. Even though I love my bachata, it was a mixture of everything. Will definitely be coming back.

Food is good, nice presentation but you wait forever for the food I don’t know maybe because it was Fathers day and the place was packed but the service wasn’t as impressive we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our order 20 minutes for 2 beers. The food portion was little for the price, if you are a fan of posting good pictures in you Facebook or Instagram then you will be impressed with the presentation. I guess I have to come here on a normal day and check it out. I’ll give 5 stars for food and food presentation and 2 stars for service I might give higher score for service next time I come over

My friends and I had a great time while seated outside. We were served promptly and the server was EXTREMELYRESPONSIVE. Like, whoa. The popcorn is warm and buttery! The tortilla chip with spicy yellow-colored dip was amazing, and I’ll definitely be back for dinner someday. The interior seating area appears a bit more for those who enjoy loud music and flashing lights during a meal/drinks. I strongly prefer sitting outside under the protective«scaffold.» Being able to speak Spanish helped a lot, but the servers spoke English and were friendly nonetheless.

The service was great! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The presentation of the food is as good as that of a professional chef even with the most basic dish like the salchipapas. Great place to bring family, meet with friends or bring a date.

I was here this past weekend for a friends birthday didn’t even know this club /lounge was around & since it doesn’t come up on Unilocal as «SLlounge» I couldn’t check in Lol. This place is a separate restaurant upstairs & a lounge below, The restaurant & lounge have separate entrances & fee’s to get in. For the restaurant the entrance is on the street level the lounge u go around & down the stairs. Came by on a Saturday & the place was pretty packed, not too happy about having to pay to get in but at least it wasn’t bad $ 15 for admission. The party was in the VIP area near the bar, not very big but big enough I guess. Decent size place enough room to dance in the middle with plenty of seating in the surrounding area for tables & bottle service. Aside from the bottle service, I ended up getting a few beers at the bar minimum for credit cards is $ 15 cheap in comparison to a lot of places I had some Modelo on tap $ 7 a glass not bad beer was really cold always a plus. Music wise it was good when it was good, the DJ was all over the place which is pretty annoying on its own but I did like the fact that they played a variety of music from hip hop, Latin of course & even some house music which I’d have to say because of where this place is I wasn’t expecting it. Decent service at the bar probably helps if u speak Spanish since it seemed to me that they didn’t quite speak English. Overall we ended up having a good time this place surprised me it was fun, I’d come back.

Came during the day and the service was friendly. I tried the marisco(shrimp, fish, crab, calamari) in a plaintain/peanut sauce. The creamy sauce reminded me of a indian curry but with different spices and not spicy hot. Waitress then gave us a complimentary shot of a warm Ecuadorian drink, I believe it had rum, cinnamon and lime, great drink for a cold day:)

As Ecuadorean, I admit some dishes are very typical, which is good, been there 3 times, yesterday service was below average… food was ok, my gf had her usual(guatita) I have tried before the Plato bandera, how ever the goat dish is salty both times and, feels microwaved. My gf is from the Philippines but love the, guatita, so I take her there. Ok…location, décor, ambience, service, and food presentation. –the restaurant is conveniently around the corner from the 7train station Junction Blvd. — for the location it look good, –it has a family ambience, wish they can play music that is not for parties… or too loud, it would be great, if they play traditional folk Ecuadorean music. –service is average, and wish they dont include tips I am usually generous. –food presentation… they have good presentation, however! some little things mess it up… such as the fried noodle placed almost in every dish, looks like a baton for a Shepperd… the hen soup is really good but I wish they did not have to bring the broth on a glass as if serving wine. Goat disg twice was salty and tasted microwaved. _but food is good overall I would recommend this place.

It’s was our first time going to sobor Latino my girlfriend and I had a great time there food was amazing, the service was great. The staff made sure that everything was right. There was three waiters they all came up to us at least 2 times during our lunch just to make sure we was well taken care of. This was my first time there and sure not my last time. I recommend this place to anyone.

Ecuadorian restaurant — food is great and served beautifully! Wait staff are extremely friendly and courteous and speak English. I had the ceviche de camaron. Shrimp ceviche which they serve ‘deconstructed’ so you can add in the cilantro, onions, tomatoes, and soup to your own taste. House white was a nice light Chardonnay. They also have a kids menu.

Been here a few times with family and friends but yesterday was a disappointment. First the kids ordered pineapple juice and were served orange juice and when it was brought to the waitress’ attention she brought back something that was neither orange juice or pineapple juice. We ordered a mixed meat picada and a seafood picada. The presentation was great but was not impressive or anything any of us would order again. The fish was good but salty. The chimichurri was pesto. There was more french fries than anything. We had the waitress bring a tres leche for my dad’s birthday and it was great because music came on, a Roman candle looking like a mini 4th of July. We were handed another table’s check which was double ours. Next time we will stick to the ceviche!

The first time I came to this Ecua restaurant/lounge I forgot that I wasn’t at a steakhouse. Everything was perfect – the large portions, the ceviche, caldo de bolas, the drinks – except the churrasco I ordered. Latinos & West indians usually make meats well done. Oh well. Sabor left such a good impression on me though, that I decided I’d bring my people here after we saw Amaluna in Citi Field. After coming here again. My friend and I started thinking that Sabor could possibly be the best Spanish restaurant of them all. Ricardo’s has a Spanish vibe but it isn’t Spanish food. Sofritos, Rincon, Havana, & Flor de Mayo don’t provide the full package that Sabor does. The only place that can compete that I know of is Don Coqui. Sabor offers Ecuadorian food that’s like a mix of the best Colombian & Peruvian food. They have a huge drink menu with a bunch of specialty drinks, beers and a full bar. Their mojitos are really fresh and all of their drinks come a little strong. Hmm… maybe they’re stronger than I think since I drink aguardiente like nothing. There’s not one thing I can say that was underwhelming or bad here. Every appetizer and entrée(we share) was delicious. My sis made a point to eat every little grain of rice that came with her shrimp parrilla lol Service is really good too. Everyone kinda stands off to the side just waiting to bounce over to get you whatever, and both times our server was cool with a good personality. The décor is good too. It’s mostly white inside with some dim lighting, and near the DJ area it seems they have a fog machine. It creates a good effect with the lighting. The music was current salsa and bachata along with some classics, but I was too full to hit the floor. Nope. Instead we decided to leave the massive(and affordable) feast at Sabor and head across the street to Rincon for«dessert.» Yeah, a true bunch of gluttons.

Ordered the fanesca. The soup was delicious. The tomate de árbol juice was okay. A bit on the sour side. The service was a little slow even though the place was kind of empty. No higos con queso :(on Saturday. Will definitely be back to check the other main dishes.
