Never been disappointed and the staff is always so accommodating!(My husband likes to order every spicy and extra spicy sauce they have on the side…) The Mexican role is my fav sushi role and their tuna poke is always tasty! I consider myself a fish snob and never hesitate to send things back if it’s slightly fishy and I’ve never had an issue here! Oh and their Chinese chicken noodle soup is seriously amazing!

Pretty good. I’d go back again. I had a simple chicken fried rice. Huge portion. I ate the other half of it for dinner the next day. My husband had some sort of spicy dish with chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms and rice(sorry! forgot the name!) and he liked it a lot. We also had dumplings as an appetizer and they were yummy. Fast service. All was good here.

Decent food… Calamari was good, plain ketchup as a dipping sauce was a new one for me. Usually get cocktail sauce or marinara. Nevertheless, it was not such a turn off I would send it back. The 5 Mai was a soy sauce based noodle dish with peapods, chopped scallions and I think some julienned carrots. I asked for it extra spicy and they really don’t understand what spicy is here but that’s ok. The dish was ok, a little salty. If I’m debating on where to go for dinner with friends I’m not sure this place would break into the top 10 dinner ideas…

This review will be similar to my review of the St. Charles location since I got the same exact things. I had the chicken lettuce wraps and they were so good! The portion size was huge, this would be a great appetizer for multiple people or a meal with leftovers for one. I also had the chicken pot stickers which were yummy! The other thing I have to rave about is their banana fritters dessert! Its warm fried bananas with cinnamon, caramel, and ice cream! I would highly recommend. The lunch and happy hour specials are fantastic! They even have specials on the weekend! Service was good both times I was at this location.

Been going here every few months for years now, and they still have the same wonderful specials. Love it! Great food, great times — Wok ‘n Fire never disappoints

This review is for carry out. The 2 stars are for taste. We have dined in the actual restaurant many times over the years, and gotten carryout several times too. Tonight we ordered 2 entrees, one order of sushi rolls, and two orders of potstickers for 4 people which has always been enough portion wise. Unfortunately, tonight the portions were about half of what they are in the restaurant. 1 cup of rice and about 1.5 cups of meat/veggies per entrée. For $ 14 an entrée! It barely filled the container. Cannot believe it since we have dined here so many times, the difference in portions. Not going back.

I would love if they had more choice when it comes to noodles… for example add drunken noodles to the menu. This way I’m stuck with ordering Pad Thai every time ;(

Stopped in last night with friends and it was also ½ price speciality Mekhi rolls. I ordered two rolls but only received one roll. Thank goodness was only charged for one. I guess I didn’t pay attention that I only received ½ my order. Oh well I will defiantly go back on girls night again as its a great deal. The one roll I did get was fresh and delicious, much better than the last time I ordered sushi.

Decent prices, decent food, decent servers. Nothing bad — nothing outstanding. The place seemed clean. I was able to substitute brown rice for white in my spicy tuna(with extreme hesitation from the server… But it was accomplished.) I would advise to go light on any«sause» they put on your roll. I have a preference to go light or not at all — I scrapped off most of it. Not a huge deal. Edamame was great — I want to try the garlic next time. Will be back for a sushi fix.

Before going to this place my boyfriend and I looked up the reviews and they had more good than bad… So we thought we would give it a shot… Honestly, the food wasn’t that bad. The rice was a little weird, didn’t taste exactly the way sushi rice should taste. A little under cooked… But other than that I don’t have any complaints about the food… The service is was got me! My boyfriend and I are servers… So we are very understanding when it comes to service when we dine out… However, this was something else! Our server didn’t even come to our table until 15 minutes after we had been waiting, when she did she asked for our drink order and didn’t return for another 10 minutes… As we were ordering, I specifically asked for real king crab instead of the crab stick… She told me sure! And when the plate of sushi came out… I could clearly tell there was a crab stick in my Cali roll… When we asked the waitress if it was the crab stick… She lied right to our faces… The only reason I know she was lying is because I am a big seafood girl & I’ve worked at a crab shack… So obviously I can tell what’s real and what’s not… I let it slide since we had more food coming and my boyfriend didn’t seem to mind the roll… However as the rest of our food came out, our server wasn’t anywhere to be seen for at least 20 minutes… We ordered dessert and a we waited we could hear her in the back yelling and being really rude and mean at her food runner! He was only trying to help her and she was the rudest person to him… I couldn’t believe it! I know there were a few more incidents that occurred but these were my BIGGEST complaints. The manager did come visit our table at the middle of our meal, when things were okay… But he doesn’t have costumer service skills at all… To be honest we thought he was really shy and almost looked scared to talk to us! And didn’t seem to really care if we were having a good time or not, just seemed like he was visiting tables because he was being forced to.

Like all Asian fusion restaurants that takes the majority of their entrée cues from Americanized Chinese food, everything was TOOSWEET. It was like trying to eat maple syrup with everything. The weirdest combination? Spicy Shanghai Chicken. Um, everyone knows that Shanghainese food is known for their sugar content. The funny thing was, my Vietnamese friend said that it wasn’t even spicy, and asked for more hot sauce. I nervously ordered the Szechuan tilapia because it seemed to have a lot of vegetables compared to the salmon. The fish was battered and fried, and the tender fish meat was moist, yet lacked flavor. It needed to be chased with the sauce. The spinach was a bit tasteless unless you accidentally ate one of the giant chunks of finely diced garlic. If you were more mindful and ate the spinach with a bit of the garlic, then the garlic spinach would have shone. We wanted to order the Asian Tiramisu, but were told it «ran out last night». We were not impressed with our waitress. She initially seemed nice, but was too abrupt and seemed as if she was in a hurry to leave our table. I am willing to go back, but probably won’t be a place I would happily suggest. I was told the sushi there was good. You can bowl in the back.

We have been a few times since our last review and I have to say we have been disappointed more each time we go. Our food has been flame burned and tasted like a bunson burner. The last time we went was the worst. long wait for our drinks, then we asked twice for our edamame, then the main courses came out burned, and we didn’t see our server for a while. we flagged down the manager to bring us desert menus and when we did see the server, instead of the desert menu, we got the final bill. we left in a hurry and don’t plan on coming back. We loved this place when we moved here, and now its not so great.

Service with a smile is one of the great things about this location! TJ couldn’t have been any more helpful and hospitable than he was. For a chain, this locale feels anything but one. Lots of kitchy style that felt very Bangkok-ish, which is nice. We split the fresh garlic spinach, the 5 spice BBQ ribs entrée and teriyaki chicken. Each came with tasty rice — fried and brown. The ribs had a delicious Asian slaw and onion rings which were yummy, while the chicken came with tasty wok vegetables. There was a generous amount of food, but not a ridiculous amount, which made for tasty leftovers. We also had the machi dessert which were 3 ice creams wrapped in rice, fried(maybe), with a fruit sauce on top, or chocolate. The strawberry was the best, the mango pretty spectacular, while the chocolate was most common, but very tasty nonetheless! An enjoyable meal and experience all around!!!

Visited their downtown Elmhurst location for Happy Hour with a friend. We sat in the high top table near the windows. The staff was extremely friendly, and hospitable. I’ve never experience such exceptional service while having sushi. I cannot get over how engaging the servers were. Kudos Wok’ n Fire! We had several of their ½ priced cocktail martini’s which run on the sweeter end.(mango/apple/cucumber) Sushi was tasty probably 3/5, but I’ve had better. A few of our rolls were falling apart. We sampled the Inky, Dragon and Tiger. Since it’s so close to my work place, I will definitely be coming back soon. Plus, I love the staff :)

A tad pricey, but their Sushi is great! Has a Sushi Sampler, terriyaki chicken, and some edamame Service was good, food was good, just a tad disappointed about the price compared to other joints. That being said, you can park, have dinner, see a movie, and have a drink all in DT Elmhurst, so the convenience is awesome

Not gonna lie Wok ‘n Fire is a guilty pleasure that must be sampled if you’re in or around the western suburbs. I met an old friend at the Elmhurst location for dinner last night and had a really, really pleasant dining experience. We opted to sit in the bar to take advantage of their awesome happy hour specials(½ of appetizers and select sushi rolls). We started out with the Crab Rangoon and Coconut Shrimp. The Crab Rangoon was some of the best I had and I love the sauce that came with the Coconut Shrimp. It’s also worth noting that despite half off appetizers they don’t skimp on the portions and the appetizers are definitely enough to share. For my entrée I went with my ultimate guilty pleasure, the Calamari Caesar. I literally have a problem where I cannot not order this dish if it’s on a menu at a restaurant and I have to say Wok ‘n Fire’s take on this dish was outstanding. The salad is quite large, comes with a ton of calamari and is complemented by a hefty sprinkling of paprika on top, won ton strips, and an Asian inspired take on Caesar dressing. Despite having filled up on appetizers I could not help but go to town on this salad. In addition to a great meal we also had a friendly, funny server who took great care of us and kept us laughing with each of his visits to our table. Definitely the icing on the cake of a great meal — I hope to be back soon.

came for a quick bite during lunch so thank god the service was quick. I thought it was a bit pricey so I settled for the sushi sampler I think it was called. it came with 3 pieces of spicy tuna roll and 3 pieces of California roll. they were both good. as for the nigiri, I loved the salmon nigiri. it melted right in my mouth. the tuna and shrimp Nigiri was not bad but not as good or fresh as the salmon.

These guys are Wok’n On A Thin Line! Not really, but I heard Huey Lewis & The News’ song of a similar name while eating lunch here, and I thought to myself«walkin on a thiiiiin line… wok’n’ on a… ohhhh that’s PERFECT. Gotta use that in my review.» Speaking of perfect, that’s precisely what my lunch was. Fast, flavorful, and a freakishly good deal. $ 7.95 for the sushi roll lunch(4 california, 4 spicy tuna) that came with soup or salad. I opted for the egg drop soup, which was great. The tea here isn’t complimentary, but they offer black or green, and it comes in an adorable cast iron pot. The hot black tea was steeped properly and had an excellent aroma. Service was speedy and polite, and the food came out much quicker than expected. Although the Elmhurst W’n’F isn’t even a fraction as cool as the Burr Ridge locale, lunch was a very pleasant dining experience, and I will certainly return. To sweeten the deal, the receipt offers 10% off your next check – which has to be used on a weekday within the next 7 days – as well as a punchcard for a free lunch entrée after 7 punches. Very happy to see improvements after fellow trusted Elites Osiris V and Brett D totally blasted this Wok’n’Fire some years back. I had no such tribulations on this visit, nor do I foresee any in the future. Keep up the great work!

I would definitely return to Wok n’ Fire. I haven’t been here for close to twenty years, that’s probably when it opened. I guess that’s irrelevant, other than the fact that it’s been here for so many years. That means that someone likes it. I guess I’d consider myself in that category now. I ordered the Szechwan stir fry. Next time I would order it with no, or easy, oil. Also, I think the second ingredient was broccoli. I expected more than two small pieces. But, the flavor was good. The restaurant is very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and they have reading glasses if you forget yours. However, in terms of price, it was bit on the high side. I would give them four stars, but my meal, including one drink and tip, was $ 28. I can feed the whole family from Emperor’s kitchen for less than that. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal
