Long story short, being pregnant has made me realize that we need a new mattress. Badly. We’ve been sleeping on my husbands 4 year old Kingsdown from when he was a bachelor — it’s an extra soft, pillow top. VERY comfy for one person, but when 2 people with a combined weight of almost 500 lbs at the end of my pregnancy — it was a nightmare to sleep on. I’ve been begging and begging for a new bed for months and this weekend, my dream finally came true. We walked in, there was only one guy working. His name was Hank. What a sweetheart. He was patient with us, especially me since I’m the most indecisive person in the world and can’t make up my mind for shit. He went out of his way to accommodate us and gave us a great deal on our mattresses. He also put up with my husband’s nonsense. My parents bought a mattress from the Green Acres Sleepy’s location over the summer and didn’t get as good as a deal as we got here. I also had a bad experience with a creepy salesman at the Oceanside Rockaway Bedding in 2007 who tried to actually scam me out of money(true story, he took my deposit and then never returned to work again… offered to personally deliver the mattress to my Long Beach apartment with his own truck! creep!) Working with Hank was such a pleasure. He was cool and kept it professional. So the moral of the story is this… need a mattress? Hank is your man. Go here.
