I went here after moving back to the area, because my parents have gone here and seemed pleased with the services. Unfortunately Im not very happy. the main reason i went was to get the eye chart test for my rx, so i could get my new glasses. right away, after waiting about 30 mins, I was taken into a room by a tech and before i knew what was happening she had put the dilate drops in my eyes. once that happens, no vision test can be done that day. she didn’t ask, just went ahead and did it. the eye exam went ok, dr. gellar is very nice. but of course i was told i had to come back for the vision test, that means more out of pocket money for me, I was un insured at the time, as well as a wait to get my glasses. when i did go back for the vision test, after waiting about 30 mins again, the same tech did that. i was really surprised, because my previous doctors all did the test themselves. I don’t want anyone other then the doctor doing the test, it feels less professional and I’m not able to talk with the doctor about any concerns while he does the test. My mom said she’s pretty sure the dr did the vision test for her, so I figure he must have hired a tech to do that now so he can see more patients. Some people may not care but personally i like to have the dr do that test. Upon calling back to explain this and ask if it would be possible to have the doctor do the exam for me, i was told id get a call back after checking with the doctor. i never got a call. so, I’m out a few hundred dollars and I’m not comfortable with the prescription i was given, so i ll prob have to have the exam elsewhere again. Im very upset that i didn’t at least get a call back even if they wouldn’t do what i asked. If you don’t mind having the tech do that test, and waiting a bit for your appt, then id say give this place a try, the dr is very nice and has good qualifications.
