It’s ok pizza. Too light tasting in the flavor department for me but not bad if you prefer a lighter tasting pizza.

Hey, now this is a pretty gosh darn good pizza place! Come to Switchback and you’ll avoid the cheese-blanketed, sugary-sauced pies of Armetta’s. Come to Switchback and you’ll dodge the cheap-o slices served with a hefty side of brusqueness at Joe’s Pizza II. Come to Switchback and you’ll never have to deal with making the harrowing turn out of the Domino’s on Lehigh Street, risking your low auto insurance premiums for something as fetid and regret-inducing as a Memphis BBQ Chicken Pizza. Switchback’s pies come off a wood-fired oven, twirled to a charred and bubbly bliss via a deft hand with a pizza peel. Armetta’s and Joe’s have industrial ovens. Domino’s has an, um, conveyor belt? Switchback’s toppings include local mushrooms, kale, gorgonzola, and humanely raised bacon. Armetta’s has buffalo hot sauce and blue cheese(?). Joe’s has«vodga»(??). Domino’s has … cheeseburger(???). Switchback hosts a comfortable, modern atmosphere that encourages hanging out. Armetta’s, Joe’s, and Domino’s make you feel like you’re just there to help them pay the bills. You might think that the owners at Switchback are hippies or «liberal progressives» or lizard people for making pizza the way pizza should be made. But just go and try a Happy Pig or Veggie Lovers pie. Make sure to check out what’s on special too, as the toppings shift with what’s fresh. If they have the meatball pie, order it. Three additional suggestions: 1) Shake some of the crushed hot peppers on top of your slices – sparingly. 2) BYO Citrus IPA from Funk Brewing Company right down the street. 3) Find out if they have any leftover equipment from when the place used to be a gym. I’m looking for a deal on kettlebells.

I’ve had Switchback a few times now, and never tire of it. It is soooo delicious. Everything is fresh and tasty. My favorite is Blue Moon… cannot get enough of it. I think I might want it every night. Most pizza places have doughy crust that overtakes the pizza, but not at Switchback. Their crust is amazing, soft but chewy and perfect texture. This place knows what they are doing. I highly recommend you try it and become a regular. And by the way, the owners and staff are great and love what they do; and it shows in their food.

I called to place an order 3x and no answer at 6:00 on a Saturday so we went there to order. When I asked server why they didn’t pick up phone she said they were too busy. Hmm only 3 couples at tables. Then pizza maker(owner?)came over to server and told her no more phone orders. How do you turn down business??? I ordered 2 pizzas and told 20 min. While waiting the other owner was making pizza with a baby on her back in some sort of backpack. Oh how cute until the kid wet coughed over her head where she was making pizza. YUCK. I should’ve canceled my order then. Finally 30 min later got my pizzas and paid $ 28 for two personal size pizzas. Hey I’m all for local sourcing but come on pricing could be better. Pizza was ok but not worth coming back for. I don’t mind paying money for food that’s worth it but not here. Also get baby sitter especially for sick child.

Love love love! Just a wonderful experience and the absolute best thin crust wood fired pizza in the Valley. We’ve tasted many true Neapolitan style pizzas and there’s no complaints here. The atmosphere is great. A complete buildout of what was once a train station in the quaint little town of Emmaus, Switchback offers six styles of pizza with a vegan option and daily featured pies as well. They also have salads, desserts, & specialty nonalcoholic drinks. Started as a mobile pizzeria catering to various local farmer markets here in the Lehigh Valley, corporate lunches, and weddings for the past three years, Switchback seems to have taken a strong hold on the niche market they encapsulate. As always, we’ll be back to try more of what they offer but I have no doubt everything they offer is amazing. Happy eats & come on down to Switchback on Jubilee Street in Emmaus.

Wow! Best thin crust wood oven made pizza I’ve had in the Area. If you like real pizza this is the place. The owners know their oven, ingredients, and love what they do. Simple. Tasty. Authentic. Emmaus is lucky to have a place like this.

Best pizza in town! Neapolitan style personal sized pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. The pizzas are made fresh in front you after you order. The dough is thin and formed by hand. The cheeses and toppings are all high end and mostly local. It’s a real treat to have a good fresh mozzarella over the standard shredded stuff. I’ve tried a few salads and desserts as well and it’s all great. The building used to be the old railroad station. Some of the building has been restored and the wood slab countertops are cozy to sit at.

So excited that Switchback Pizza has opened their restaurant. I have followed them from the Easton Farmers Market to Emmaus Farmers Market. Their dough is amazing and, love that they use local ingredients for their toppings and change with the seasons. Salads and dessert can round out your meal now at their restaurant location. BYOB and well worth my drive from Nazareth!

Great new spot in town. Pizza is fresh and hot. Tastes amazing… and to top it off they have desert! Cheese cake or chocolate cake… yummy!

I thought I’d try this new pizza place in Emmaus. From their other Unilocal page it seems this business started as a stand at the Emmaus Farmer’s market. Parking might be an issue at this location when it gets crowded; a lot of their neighbors are parked around this building. I figured for my first visit I’d keep it simple so I ordered their Margherita pizza. It looks like they only make personal size pizzas. Mine was tasty, thought I would have liked a little more basil. I’d say I’d come back to try their other pizzas. I might wait a little while. The ladies were nice but seemed to be overwhelmed.
