Stopped in for some reflective numbers, grout, And lightbulbs. Place is a heck of a lot bigger inside than it looks from the front. Everybody was super helpful and nice. I have to say to the comment before about road salt; I’m from Wisconsin and if you were able to get 50 pounds of road salt for $ 20 you’d be doing great.

Wentz’s is an old fashion hardware store with LOTS of stuff(who wants to do the inventory). The employees usually do not seek you out but are very helpful when you find them. You can buy one screw. You can buy propane. You can get great advice on how to solve your problem sometimes at the loss of a sale. These guys are best in this pretty small, old-fashioned hardware store.

Price gouging is a term that refers to a situation in which a merchant/seller prices goods or commodities at a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. We are in the midst of one of the harshest winters on record and there is currently a shortage of Rock Salt. Everyone is sold out. However, Wentz had in order in place, prior to the shortage and now they are the only merchant with stock. I stopped by to pick up a 50 lb. bag, today and was told one per customer, which was fair. Then came the price … $ 10.59 for a 50 lb. bag of Rock Salt! This is more than twice the price that I paid one month ago. I am extremely loyal to small businesses! And, I’m willing to pay a premium price to support them. But, I’m not going to support a Price Gouger. What a shame!
