I love Dana. She’s the best stylist I’ve ever had! She’s cut my hair and my boyfriend’s as well and it always comes out just the way I want. If I ever have to leave San Diego, I will probably cry.

Dana was available to help me while I was on vacation and had a bad hair dye emergency! She did a great job adding pink and blonde to my hair. Her shop is super cute and clean and friendly, and Dana has the perfect sense of when to chat and when to just get down to hair business. If I were ever in the area again, I would definitely go back! Dana is the best!

I had my first haircut and color with Dana this week and I am sold. She listened to what I wanted and my hair was above and beyond!
The salon is adorable. There are vintage touches everywhere including old travel suitcases at everyone’s station to hold hair products.
I have already recommended her to other people and will continue to do so.

I’ve been going to Dana for about 3 years and she’s wonderful. I followed her to Orange Blossom from Detour Salon and I was happy for the change.
She is excellent with color and cutting. I always trust her judgement and she has yet to lead me wrong. She is very a able and doing what you want, but within the parameters of your hair; I’m very glad she talked me out of going red!
She also did the hair for my wedding last year and it was great. Her up do was exactly what I wanted and completed the bridal ensemble perfectly. I also took my husband and father in to get cuts for the wedding and my father was so impressed he has gone back since; and this from a man who thinks $ 15 is a lot for a haircut!
Dana will treat you well, and now that I’ve moved away I wish I could fly her out every 6 weeks for a cut and color.

When I moved to San Diego from Chicago, it was very hard for me to find a colorist to give me what I was looking for. After trying about 6 different salons and stylists, I ended my search with Dana!
She does an AMAZING job with blonde highlights and always listens to exactly what I am looking for and executes perfectly.
I have been to so many stylists who tend to do what THEY feel like, and she really nails it when you ask her for something. Every time I get my hair cut at other places, they almost always cut it WAY shorter than I want… leaving me feeling sick to my stomach when I leave. With Dana, she always cuts enough to get the dead ends off and keep it healthy, but leaves it feeling long like I ask for!
I have been going to Dana for 3 years now and have never had a bad experience! She is also so much fun to talk to and is very down to earth! Majorly recommend!!!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Dana for the past year (about twice a month). Dana is the best! She’s styled my hair to everything from a modern «spiked» haircut and a faux hawk, to a long cut similar to a combover. She is one of those stylists that’s very «detail» oriented — making sure to make everything even, cut calics properly, and give you exactly what you want.
I would recommend Dana to any male looking for a good stylist in North County that wants a good cut and friendly conversation.

I started going to Dana years ago. She does phenomanol color. Her cuts are awesome too. My husband also gets his hair done by Dana, and he’s picky, she totally listens to what he wants. Super hip and creative and she’s hilarious too. 5 star for sure, would never stray.

Dropped in when I visited SD and had Dana do a color and a cut. I loved it so much. She fixed the mess someone else made of my hair. She was really professionally and I felt like she took her time. I also thought she was reasonably priced for what I had done.

I had the same experience as sophie. Dana cuts fast and my front layers weren’t blended at all. When I told her «this doesn’t look good». She offered to make the other side equally uneven so they would match. I declined and was charged $ 160 to walk out unhappy (and she knew it).
Won’t be back.

I moved to California from Omaha, Nebraska three years ago and hadn’t been able to find a great hair stylist until I went to Dana. I’ve been to her three times now and am about to head in again for a cut and color this weekend.
My hair is naturally brown with some red in it but I love to get it as dark as possible. I also love Redken color products, which Dana uses, because they make my hair look so rich and even with the semi-​permanent color, they seem to make my color last forever and never fade. That richness in color though has sooo much to do with how it’s applied and Dana did a great job easing me back into the nearly black, brown color I love but hadn’t been able to keep up since moving. Great all over color, which is no small feat considering how much hair I have to color too… two color bottles worth!
She also does a seriously great cut. I have naturally very wavy hair and wear it such 70% of the time, mostly because I have a massive amount of thick hair and am often too lazy to dry it, but when I do get the energy to do so I end up straightening it as well. My hair is longer and I wanted to keep it that way and get a very layered cut that would satisfy both the wavy curls and the straightened do. I explained this to Dana and she totally got it. I’ve gone to other stylists who just don’t get this though and my hair ended up looking either too shaggy and all over the place when left curly or too chopped up when I straighten it. Fell in love with my layered cut after the first time Dana got her hands on my hair and all I have to do now is ask her to trim it up a bit when I go in for a cut and she gets it back to the length and shape it was the five to six weeks before when I was last there! This consistency is something I absolutely love because the worst thing is getting a great hair cut once from a stylist and going back and having them butcher it.
All in all, I’m soooo glad I found Dana and don’t ever have to go in search of a great stylist again. :)
Also, Orange Blossom is pretty unique and fun. I love that it’s a home that they turned into a salon. Everyone there is laid back and genuinely friendly, unlike how a lot of the salons in the area seem, namely downtown, where they charge a crazy amount and can come across kind of snooty. Maybe I’m more aware of it coming from out of state, but I’ve never gotten that vibe from anyone at Orange Blossom, which I love.
My parents are moving to the area next month and I’ve already recommended Dana to both my mom and dad. If you’re looking for someone who you can trust with your hair, knows their stuff about cuts and colors and is genuinely friendly, definitely go to Dana! She’s the best!

I just moved back to the San Diego area after being away for over 10 years. On the search for a new hair stylist, I came across the Unilocal reviews for Orange Blossom the Salon. I called to make an appointment and requested a colorist specializing in THICK hair. I have had some horrible experiences in the past that have left me tramatized. I was immediately recommended to Dana. I am naturally dark black brown, but was honey brown for a year and as of last week red. I moved here in February 2012 and have seen Dana about 4 times because of my high maintenance color choices. She always is very careful with keeping my hair healthy (in applying various treatments in between) and conservative in both coloring and cutting to ensure I get exactly what I want. I have a very hectic schedule and she has also gone out of her way to accommodate me in every way she can. Having healthy hair (as much as possible) while I try out different looks is important to me and Dana makes that happen. I have no regrets and I am happy I found her. On top of everything else, she is real funny, down to earth and makes a banging cup of coffee :)

I just moved up the street of this location in December and happened upon Dana while looking at previous reviews for Orange Blossum. Dana has been everything I have looked for in a stylist. I’m the type of guy who dreaded getting my haircut because I didnt know what I want, didnt know when I need one, and most of all didn’t know where to go.
No longer do I have to worry about uneven cuts like I would get at places like Supercuts. Dana has made things so much easier for me because I can just sit down and trust that she will cut my hair right every time. Dana is very easy to get a hold of and it seems like she really tries to make herself available for her clients. I really think the investment in a good haircut is well worth the cost and pays immediate benefits that lasts for weeks. Dana is definetly well worth every dollar and I can see myself going back for haircuts until all my hair falls out but hopefully that doesn’t happen anytime soon.

I love going to Dana. I searched for several years in San Diego for someone who not only really listens but has great ideas on style/​color. She really understands what I want and always has good advice. Dana has a great personality and makes getting your hair cut/​colored an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend her!!!

Dana does an excellent job. I would recommend her to anyone including my wife.
She does a nice job with washing and rinsing my hair and she cuts to percision.
She also has a nice window view.

The best stylist I’ve ever had. I found Dana by chance and have been going back for three years. Every time (no joke) I leave the salon I get asked, «Who does your hair?» Dana is fantastic with short cuts, long cuts, and is amazing with all those in-​between stages. I’ve been going to Dana for several years and she’s by far the best stylists I’ve ever been to — I refer all of my friends to her. She always cuts my hair exactly the way I want. As great as she is at cutting hair, her personality is even better. I look forward to seeing her every month. I would never go anywhere else. Dana cut & colored my hair for the first time today and she is amazing! This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a hairstyle that I truly LOVED when I walked away from the salon. She is really great at what she does and I really enjoyed the experience. Finally, after years of never feeling like I found «The One» I think I finally have! I definitely plan on using her from here on out — I have never felt so good about my hair in my life!
