I love Grangetto’s and hope they expand more into retail garden type wares… I’ll keep checking back…

Very helpful, they carry lots of irrigation parts and know how they work. The prices were better than Home Depot for what I bought.

Great place with a longtime local tradition. You can tell lots of pros go here. Maybe a little pricey on some items, but the service I have received has always been outstanding. They will take the time to answer your questions and provide you suggestions.

If you’re a DIYer for your home and want professional quality outcome then come check this place out. We found the edging(brown, non-rubber) here that we installed ourselves. You’ll find all kinds of better mulch, etc. Keep in mind this is not home depot, but has it’s own specialty and items you won’t find at home depot. The only plants I noticed at the time were vegetables, but they looked quite healthy. The people working there are quite knowledgeable, and helpful as well. You’ll notice that most of their clients are contractors. They offer workshops for the public as well.

I need help from knowledgeable people that have the tools and supplies to do what I want to get done. Hyrdoscapes in Encinitas has smart alecs in it that give you grief and the wrong things. Grangettos has professional chemicals, irrigation hardware and lots of expertise. The prices are absolutely competitive with anyone including Home Depot. The quality though(relative to Home depot) is like most pro supply houses, much better than the big box stores. If you want a cheap 6 zone timer and HD is the only place you think of then you are making a mistake. Spend money on quality and it is much less expensive in the short order. It took a little while to convince me but I have proven it again and again. The guys will back you up when you need help. Grangettos is good!

The first thing you’ll notice outside my local Grangetto’s is a whole lot of landscape trucks. This is where the pros shop. There’s no getting around the fact that these guys sell a lot of chemicals… and yet even this organic guru is loyal like a brother. Back in the early 90’s when people looked at me like I was from another planet when I tried to convince them of a better way to grow stuff w/o poisons and chemical fertilizers. Nearly every retail store in the North County said«take a hike hippy! That nonsense will never amount to anything.» The exception was Grangetto’s. The brothers Ed and Kevin who run the family’s stores in Escondido, Temecula, Fallbrook and Encinitas were different and said«sure why not? We’ll stock that stuff» They were way ahead of the curve and are still the best place to get the things I recommend in my recipes. like cotton seed meal, alfalfa meal, fish meal, bone etc. They also carry some really good premixed organic fertilizers and potions. My new favorite obsession is retrofitting the ranch with low water use sprinkler heads. They have the Hunter MP rotators and will tell you how to hook em up, or my guys can come do it for you. Grangetto’s is the secret a lot of us hippy farmers swear by. On my web site I’ll give it 5 grape leaves or some other cool leaf rating system I have yet to nail down.
