Took a home care client here because he is her PCP. Office staff totally ignored us then 15 minutes later called us into the exam room. Dr. Stephenson not at all prepared for visit, had to read the discharge paperwork from previous hospital admittance. Client was told to go to Scripps hospital in same complex, just wait for the shuttle at the building entrance, «they go by every 30 seconds!». 30 minutes later no shuttle pickup. Called the office and they were clueless, said they had no number to call for the shuttle to pick me up. Called twice more, still no help. Ended up waiting 45 minutes for transport. Dr. Stephenson was supposed to have called over to have a quick admit for my client b/c she was in severe pain due to a UTI/bladder infection. Five and a half hours later client still in pain, no pain meds, still not admitted. Could have used a doctor’s office that communicates with hospital staff to reduce suffering and improve service. Won’t be choosing this guy for me or anybody I know.

Darn good Family Practice doctor. Unusual in that he’s not in a «group» practice. Good service, excellent skills, qualified staff. My 92 year old mother loves him and thinks he looks like CNN’s Anderson Cooper. He listens, which is most important, and his time with you is with you, not somewhere else. Something I value in a health care provider. His main nurse, Ursula, is extremely patient with everyone and is charming as well. No visit to the doctor is without uncomfortable moments, but I’ve always left his office knowing I’ll be back if necessary.
