We never eat in because its always too crowded and noisy. But we get carry outs of the fried and grilled cod — king size, which is enough for two. Great food.

Food was great. Prices what you would expect. My suggestion for this business, take your cook staff, recipes, and move. Place is tiny and in dire need of a good cleaning. Tables are set on a slanted floor that was apparently some sort of ramp originally. Serving staff was slow. I don’t feel they were understaffed, just very slow. Waited for the bill for at least 10 mins. With at least 20 people waiting for a table, they could easily do more business with an energetic serving staff. I’ll definitely go back, but for carry out only.

Enjoyed the grouper sandwich. Everyone loved their meals ordered the clam strip appetizers but we’re a tad dark which we are blaming on the late time of our arrival. Will be back.

If you don’t take the time to try this place it will be your loss. This place has great food at reasonable prices. I love their grouper sandwich or plate. The only negative I find is you can have a drink out on their patio but you cannot order food.

Great place — it’s casual! Great fish & chips, the burger is as big as they say and only lacking craft beers to make this a five star review. Small place inside, but it turns over pretty quickly and if the weathers nice there’s a patio /​tiki bar attached

The staff here is friendly and it’s a very pleasant atmosphere. It’s casual and clean. To say the the portions are large is a massive understatement. I could only eat about 25% of my burger… it had to weigh at least a pound. See our pics! And ohhhh, the fish platters are HUGE! The food is very high quality and the prices are amazing. This is our new favorite place to grab a quick meal and particularly to get fish. Since moving to Florida we’ve been looking for a good place to find seafood, and I guarantee you this is it. I love this place!

We went speaking this place based on their Unilocal rating. When we pulled up and saw the outside, we almost didn’t go in. What a hole in the wall. But we decided to give it a try anyway. Boy are we glad we did. I had the fried fish and shrimp lunch special. Absolutely perfect. The fish was flakey and delicious. My wife got a cheeseburger. Holy smokes. It was huge and fantastic. The prices are great and the service super. We will definitely be going back.

Their burgers are HUGE, juicy & unforgettable. I think they’ll comp your meal if you order the double cheeseburger & finish the whole thing in one sitting. I’ve never seen anyone do it.

That’s the best advice I can give.
A real hole in the wall so don’t expect anything fancy.
The fried fish and shrimp are dome perfect. Extra large portions on all the dishes.

This place has great food and great prices. It’s such an enormous amount of food. I usually get the burger and fries. I eat the fries and take the burger home. Enough for two meals! So casual you can stop in on the way home from the beach. Would recommend!

Ate there this evening. Very good fish and chips. Our server, Kay, was extreme friendly and helpful. The only thing I was disappointed about, is that they don’t have margaritas. They only have a license for beer and wine. Will go back!

Wow! The BEST & Freshest seafood and burgers. When you’ve had the BEST– why try the rest? LOVE the clam strip basket with cole slaw and fries. A bang for your buck with HUGE portions! Something for everybody on the menu whether it be fresh or fried.
Every time we try a different place on the Gulf Beaches, Venice, Sarasota, Port Charlotte, etc. We REGRET not coming to Café 776.
Love they do take out. Glad they opened a sister restaurant on Placida Road!

Visited friends in Englewood and they suggested this café for a good local place. It was good and it was local. Big portions, I had Shrimp and Chips, the breading was light and the shrimp were huge.

Very casual. Bare bones local eatery with great seafood. (…don’t tell the tourists)
