The restaurant is small, cozy and tastefully decorated. The menu is fairly straight forward as one would expect from an Italian restaurant. I shared the burrata, tomato and roasted pepper app which was divine. The burrata was fresh as can be. I ordered the pork chop served over Arugula which had small pieces of mozzarella, red onions and tomato. It was seasoned nicely(not an over abundance of vinegar). My only negative is the waiter between courses kept coming over and asking if we wanted to order more food. I understand business but if we decline on dessert, we don’t want a dessert menu and certainly don’t want to hear why we should be ordering the fabulous tiramisu or cappuccino etc. I will definitely return as this is not a huge negative but my preference is a wait staff that’s more low key and not overly aggressive on running up my tab! Oh it’s BYOB!

Great Restaurant and delicious food — Shrimp Risotto, pork a la garden, but avoid weekend, because Restaurant is small, limited table, because it’s getting very popular

Two stars would probably be moved up to a 4 if I hadn’t gone on a Saturday night. I know small places have tight seating, but I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Literally 6 inches between tables! They have to move the table completely out in order for you to get in your seat. Then of course, everyone can hear your conversation. The couple that came in after us remarked it was like a family Easter dinner! We had a larger party so it was better for us, but if I were seated in a table for 2, I would have left. Food presentation is simply awful. Food was great-tuna tartar was excellent. Portions are small-probably the amount a person SHOULD eat lol. Desserts were only tiramisu, tartufo and chocolate mousse cake-Balthazar is right there! Why not serve one of their cakes?! Think the place is a bit pricey-probably because they have at least 8 – 10 people working the floor(almost awkward how much«help» there was). Worst part was the blonde hostess(owner?).saw her give a really condescending look and gesture to one of the young busboys(?). Turned me off completely. No one wants to see that-Especially to a young kid who is actually working on a Saturday night! Edited to add-word has it that the truffle pasta is $ 58! Watch out for specials-very expensive!

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I happened to be in Englewood and before heading back to the City, we decided to try Trattoria Carpaccio. The restaurant is really small, with way too many tables squeezed close to one another. There is not enough space to even approach your table, without bumping to other people sitting at their tables. Which also makes impossible to have any sort of private conversation, without having others listening to it! As for our food, we ordered so praised grilled octopus, which happened to be too rubbery. This is definitely not a Spanish octopus, and the olive oil used is not Sicilian. I’ve been to Sicily many times, and have tasted and bought their oil. The oil used at this restaurant is most probably from Goya! For our entrée I chose black truffle pasta, while my husband had pesto gnocchi. Let me start with gnocchi and my spaghetti, which was not freshly made as they claim, but rather bought frozen from some cheap wholesale place. My famous black truffle pasta was only smelling of the truffle oil, however the shaved mushrooms, had no taste or aroma of beautiful Italian truffles, which we had so many times before. Both my husband and I thought, that they must be imported from China. Nevertheless, the prices are way too much for the quality of the food that one gets, and for this kind of small restaurants. For the same price one can eat in the best restaurants in NYC! Needless to say we will never go back.

Food is good but they gave away my reservation after they did not get in touch with me the day after I made it. I had a babysitter all set and people in from out of town and ended up with nowhere to go. That really screwed me. When I called they said they were very busy and didn’t need me as a customer. I was shocked.

What a great cozy spot here in town. I loved everything about this place. The décor, the mood, the staff, the prices. All great. It’s a BYO which I happen to enjoy. I had heard about someone named Elvis but he wasn’t there when we were, but knowing we will be back, I’m sure I’ll get to meet this local celeb in the near future. The food was fabulous and the portions were generous but not over the top which was nice to see. For appetizers, I had the grilled artichoke which was prepared well, but I don’t think the artichoke itself was the greatest. Not a lot of meat on the leaves, but it was cooked so perfectly that I was still happy. I can only imagine how delicious it would be if it was a bigger, juicier artichoke. My son had the carpaccio which was unbelievable. I want my own next time, not just a taste. My husband had the spicy mussels which he said were incredible I don’t like mussels so you’ll have to take his word. My son had pesto gnocchi as his entrée that was probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. My husband had the carbonara which was very tasty. I had the tuna special which was great. I didn’t partake in the chocolate mousse cake but my son and husband loved it all. We can’t wait to go back. I want to become a regular here. It feels special to me.

Cozy and conducive. Excellent service from start to finish from coat check to attentive staff. However, in terms of taste, presentation, quantity, and price of their food, I’d settle for elsewhere. We started with the calamari(excellent) followed by a simple rigatoni sausage and broccoli rabe pasta(salty and watery) and lamb chops(overlooked/burnt) served with soggy French fries and two large Rosemary stems(awkward presentation). In all fairness, the place was BYOB and a flat screen tv by the bathroom playing Sunday night football.

We love it here! Elvis and his staff are wonderful, food is always delicious and fresh. We especially enjoy the veal and the bronzino. The lights remind me of 1930’s décor, which is simple, beautiful and warm. You feel like family here and your grandma from Italy is in the kitchen. We have never been disappointed here and will always come here for a fantastic meal and enjoyable evening.

Definally not a place that I would have in mind to visit or recommend to others… I went there with my husband for our wedding anniversary and it wasn’t what I was expecting from the restaurant. to begin with, they star fixing something under our table one minute after we arrive, and we waited for 10 to 15 minute, for that process to end, even when there were more tables for they to offer to us… and the waiter touch the caps after touching to floor when he was fixing the table… the presentation of the food was not the best, I order a strawberry for dessert and some of the fruits had some black spots on it.

As a self-declared foodie, I’m so happy to proclaim that this is a much needed, cozy, delicious addition to Englewood and the reason why I love being a local. We finally managed to get a reservation for a Saturday night and while we noticed a party arrive after us, get greeted by the owner and the get seated first, I couldn’t complain. I hope to soon become a regular local here to get the extra treatment(we got seated very soon afterwards). The owners seemed to know everyone who walked in; that’s the type of experience I strive for as a regular diner! I usually always aim for the seafood specials, but I had a really good feeling that a place like this did simple just right so I went with the thin spaghetti pomodoro with basil and I absolutely loved it! It just completely hit the spot in flavor, quality, and quantity. My husband got the spaghetti carbonara hoping that it would be similar to what he ate in Rome. It didn’t quite hit that level, but it was definitely more authentic than the overly creamy sauce that other restaurants serve. The eggplant rollatini app was cheesy goodness. The vanilla gelato was delicious! And I loved the ByOB option plus the glass of limoncello they served us afterwards. I initially felt really rushed by the server & a level of impatience from him when I couldn’t decide on my order, hence 4 stars instead of 5, but by the end of the night the service was attentive and great. The space is very small so I can understand wanting to take the order and then move out of the way. Can’t wait to go back again and again!

Love the fact that this place is BYOB. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is: 1) the Spanish octopus appetizer was a bit salty. 2) the rigatoni was too al dente. 3) the chicken special was overcooked, hence the dish was dry. Other than that, the hospitality was perfect. The wait staff changed our wine glasses whenever they served a new bottle of wine. The servers were so attentive that our wine glass was never left empty throughout our dinner. The owner and the staff constantly checked up on us and replaced our plates and utensils after every course. Having outdoor seating is a plus. It’s always nice to eat outside on a beautiful night :)

Food is a passion of the owner Elvis. He is on top his game making sure the food is just right. From the quality of the food to its preparation you know whatever you get will be fantastic and plenty of it. Service from Victor was superb always there to fill our wine glasses and water.

We finally made it and I am sure glad we did! This place has a great feel and the food was fantastic! Its a small place but coming from NYC, that doesn’t matter much. Also, it wasn’t quiet. I actually prefer it be a bit louder because I find it to be uncomfortable when I think others can hear my entire conversation. The room was filled with chatter and laughs so that means everyone was having a good time with friends. The service was exceptional. The servers were always nearby. The table was cleaned and the silverware changed after each course. But most notably, the chef and the hostess were overseeing everything. I was given the wrong salad and it was immediately replaced with my correct order. We started with the carpaccio appetizer, obviously, and it was very fresh. It was served with a very light and refreshing dressing on the arugula. I also have to make a note of the bread. it was deliciously fresh and warm. It was served with an oil dip rather than butter. It was very good. Next we had the Caesar Salad and the Trattoria Chopped Salad. I always order the Caesar salad so that I have a baseline to compare. It was fantastic! The lettuce was so fresh and crunchy. And the croutons were made from the amazing bread I mentioned earlier. I plan on returning soon for lunch with friends because this was a nice portion size. The Trattoria salad was very good as well. It reminded me of the house salad served at River Palm of which my husband is very fond of. For dinner my husband ordered the Shrimp & Crab in Red Sauce over Black Pasta. This was the MVP. Its a must try. The chef actually asked us what we planned on having before we even poured our wine and made sure to save one in case he ran out. Im very glad he did. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had. I ordered the Salmon off the menu. It was very good. But after trying that pasta dish, I had some«buyers remorse». Ill know better for next time. Finally, we ordered Chocolate Ice Cream for dessert. Although I am strictly a Nasto’s Ice Cream girl, I gave it a try since my husband really wanted it. It was a nice ending to a fabulous meal. So glad we found a BYOB restaurant that serves wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Can’t wait for our next meal here!

The food here is good but I would stay away from the specials, they weren’t all that special. The wait staff here is an army of men that bombarded our table with great service. The food was well seasoned but the mussels in white wine was very salty as was the double cut veal chop. The pastas here are very good. The sauces all matched their other ingredients beatifully. While dining I was able to taste the carbonara with pancetta, which was salty but that was expected, they were serving a special angel hair with jumbo lump crab in a red sauce that was simple but was quite the satisfying dish with huge lumps of crabs. The gnocchi though was ridiculously good here, it is served in a beautiful creamy basil pesto. The gnocchi just melts in your mouth, it almost feels like sticky ricotta definitely recommend this dish for anyone that’s on the fence. I normally do not order gnocchi, I’m more of a meat and carbs type of guy, but after reading another Unilocalers review I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did.

We have eaten there quite a few times. Food is excellent, service attentive. We had tuna tartare for appetizer, my husband had the barrato cheese salad. Both were delicious and well– prepared. The fish is fresh. The restaurant is pretty and charming, Its BYOB. The owner is there, walks around and is very interested in the customers, service, etc. Highly recommended

Gave it a second try before crossing it off the list. It’s a really nice looking place — dark floors, white walls, nice bench seating and tables, hostess is nice(nicer the 2nd time). What turned us off the first time was the waiter. We went about 5 – 6 weeks ago, i believe within weeks of the opening and the waiter couldn’t have been less enthused. It was actually kind of annoying and I felt badly for the chef/owner, «Elvis,» who came out during the meal and talked to everyone. The pasta carbonara which was reportedly«good» and the pesto gnocchi was just ok. The menu is somewhat limited if you don’t eat meat. The bread was good and we had the pulpo(octopus) appetizer which was pretty good. I personally was not interested in going back after that time but was convinced to give it another try. The second time we ordered the grilled artichoke appetizer — in my head i was picturing baby artichokes — but in any case, it arrived gigantic, cold, sliced in half and it actually looked like a plastic fake artichoke — we literally couldn’t chew any part of it except one spot we managed to find. It was ridiculous and I considered saying something but figured I’d wait to see how the entrees were. I had the penne with broccoli rabe, minus the sausage and upon being served the man at the next table asked me if it was a «half portion.» It wasn’t. In fairness, it was enough to eat but it did appear quite small, i think the choice of bowl could be better. It tasted fine, but there was a lot of watery liquid at the bottom. I realize i «changed» the dish by subtracting the sausage but I do that all the time(same dish at Vechhia Napoli in Edgewater is amazing and when you ask for it without the sausage they ask if you want mushrooms instead and there is no water at the bottom). Our other entrée was a special ½ lobster with clams, calamari, etc. over linguini. At the end of the meal I was still not convinced I’d ever go there again but that uncertainty was wiped away with the arrival of the check — the«special» seafood entrée was like $ 48!!! What? I’m sorry but that is ridiculous. There is nothing about this casual byob that justifies that kind of price. Maybe the chef thinks he is still at Grissini where such a price would be less of a shock but there it is just ridiculous, especially based on the prices elsewhere on the menu. And of course the price was never mentioned during the reading of the specials, not uncommon, but who would expect a place with a pasta dish for less than $ 20 to charge that? And no, it was not worth it. So it is crossed off the list. No reason to return, there are too many other good places in the area. I feel badly for Elvis, other people seemed to like it, but not us.

Came here few days ago with the gf & had a lovely time. Really a cute romantic spot in Englewood you really wouldn’t expect. The Ambiance is really nice & the service is really on point. We got the homemade gnocchi with pesto sauce & the double veal chop special with Tuscan fries. The gnocchi was some of the best I’ve ever had, literally melt in your mouth. Veal chop was good, not great…& overpriced. Parking does kinda suck but that’s to be expected in Englewood. Also BYOB which is great; as they actually chill your bottle by your table side. Really a nice spot & will be returning again.

this newly opened place carpaccio is a great place to try because of its great food and nice surroundings. I would give this place five stars, but the parking is a problem and my friend got spaghetti with clams and they tasted sandy. but overall, this is a great place you should try. for the appetizer, i got the arugula with roasted peppers and it was very good. for the entrée, i got the pasta with sausage with broccoli rabe and it was amazing. carpaccio is a great place to try.
