I don’t think I’ve ever had such tender meat at ANY barbeque place. Ever! Since I don’t do sugar, I passed on the sauce(which my husband said was fine) and found the meat wonderfully flavorful. Loved the selection of sides. Loved the cheery, helpful staff! We WILL be back.

Great place! My dad had his wedding reception here. The loaded spuds are the best I’ve had and really nice people too!

Very skimpy beef portion on the sliced BBQ sandwich. Had not been in awhile. Not sure I’ll be back.

AMAZING! I grew up here but have been gone for 20+ years. I’ve had brisket everywhere, it’s my favorite but only if it’s cooked right. Hands down best brisket ever.

Very good! I had the brisket and ribs with 2 sides. Meat was fork tender, fell off the bone. Will define you come back

Get off the freeway and pull over. Great food. Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance. Interior is adorned by large airplanes hanging from ceiling accompanied by s casual down home country feel. It’s a local eatery with mostly locals inside. This place is worth pulling off HWY45 for. Very large assortments of meat cuts. I got the regular sausage and ribs. They also have spicy sausage. Accompanied by freshly cooked onion rings and yellow kernel corn. They offer two type of be sauce — reg. and spicy. Both are great. Ribs were fall off the bone tender. Would have preferred a more spicy rub on them. But they were very good. The regular sausage was spot on perfect. Juicy and flavorful. I also liked the freshly cooked onion rings as well. Out the door for $ 14.00.(2 meats plate w/drink)

Every time I order from here, I ask for extra crispy okra… it’s been done right once. The baked potatoes are $ 4 which is outrageous!

Good BBQ and excellent service. My family enjoyed the food, we all got different things, ribs were great, turkey was also really good. My son had a steak and was good. Great place! I will recommend it.

As I sit here, disappointed by the tasteless sliced beef and the seemingly brined turkey that still taste like salt, i wish i had just went to the gas station and picked up a Slim Jim. The salad was wilted and also a disappointment. I’m done with Bubbas. Just to clarify on the beef, had Inot added the sauce it would not have had any flavor.

This place has decent, unmemorable BBQ. The staff are all very friendly, but the serving setup(described in other reviews) is unnecessary, and it seems to simply be a tip generator. The spicy sausage is good, but the brisket almost tasted like it had been finished in an oven rather than smoked the whole time. The potato salad is good and could have been homemade.

Lunch was great, good ribs, spicy sausage, and sides. Good atmosphere, fair prices and service. The ribs had a high quality smoke ring, moist, and fell off the bones meat. The sides are good… fun customers around lots of locals.

Two maybe 3 stars. Lets start with the sliced beef plate. Had a great smokey flavor but it was cold. Even the sides were cold. The sauce taste like it came from a bottle. It was barely ok, not what is expected. Kids plate was a good portion. The sausage was good but still not even warm. The potato was the only thing that was warm. The chopped meat was not fresh. Had a consistancy of coming out of an container. The food was not really worth the price. Probably wont be back here.

Buyer beware stoped here on way back to Houston at end of Christmas week around 2p. And stopped to eat. The sausage came out cold and green around edges twice the Brisket was cold the sides came out of a can and everything lacked seasoning. Do NOT eat here if hungry go across to Waffle House better food for less money.

Had the bbq beef sandwich w/coleslaw and macoroni. Everything was lacking flavor. Had to load the sandwich with bbq sauce and jalapeños to make it tolerable. Macoroni was watery. On a positive note, the atmosphere and service was good. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for the bbq though.

It’s ok. Beans were not hit and pretty bland. Beef is unremarkable. Spicy sausage was great. Sauce is ok. Décor very cool. Staff very friendly. Been here about a dozen times over the years. Consistently ok. Just not great. Better than fast food though.

The sausage is not made in house but comes from a meat maker in Waco. The sausage was just ok. I would try something else instead. The chopped brisket was very good and I had a couple nice pieces of bark in it. I was pleasantly surprised that pickled beets and onions was available as a side. I love pickled beets. The potato salad was homemade and heavy on the mayo but quite tasty. I have gone to Bubba“s once before and got a steak. The steak was medium rare rather than medium well so I had to send it back to be cooked further but no big deal. Both visits have yielded lots of friendly employees. They even offered me a to go cup for tea without me having to ask. This business is a nice pla e and may not be the best bbq or steak you have ever had but they still have quality food at a decent price and friendly customer service. After a day of frolicking in the bluebonnets and looking at cows this place is a good spot to eat some cow :) moooooo

Bubba’s made the Texas Monthly Top 50 back in 2008, but apparently missed the mark when they issued the current 2013 list. I was curious to find out exactly how far Bubba’s had fallen. I ended up ordering a Two Meat Plate of brisket and ribs. For my two self-serve side dishes, I picked potato salad and green beans. Interestingly, the food is all counter-service, but I was assigned a waitress for the sole purpose of bringing my drink and silverware. I guess I was expected to tip her for all of her hard work? As always, I started things off with my side dishes. The green beans seemed like nothing more than Del Monte canned beans. Conversely, the potato salad was pretty good. It was very sweet, with just a dash of mustard mixed in. My meats were about as disappointing as the green beans had been. The brisket looked pretty terrible from the outset. There wasn’t much of a crust and only a few small patches of smoky redness. The tips of my slices were solid, unrendered fat, and the fat line also ran the full length of each edge. I found a moderate amount of smoke, but it wasn’t enough to fix things. The ribs had more bark than the brisket, and much more visible evidence of smoke. The meat itself was smoky enough, but also fairly dry. Aside from the slight smokiness, there really wasn’t much flavor that I could pinpoint. Even some extra salt and pepper(or, God forbid, a glaze) would have helped tremendously. I took my leftovers to-go just to be polite, but they went straight into the trash. Needless to say, I found no reason for a return trip to Bubba’s.
