Small home town café and family business. Breakfast served all day along with soup, salad and sandwiches. Unique options like Jonny Cakes and old time favorites biscuits and gravy. The food and service are excellent. Not the best in way of décor but clean, friendly and a great choice for dining in Enterprise.

Great food, coffee, and service. Definitely worth the drive up from Wallowa Lake for breakfast. Note: they don’t accept credit cards.

Read good reviews and decided to try breakfast here on a recent road trip through Enterprise. Great food and service! I will be sure to stop here again next time!

Great food, fast service. I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice country café feel. The prices were very reasonable, there were three of us, and it was only $ 28. We each had huge helpings, and plenty of coffee.

Good home poked food and fun décor. We had a simple breakfast of eggs bacon toast and hash browns before we hiked up inEagle Cap wilderness. Hash browns were great, toast with blackberry jam was fantastic. Great meal to start a big day. Only disappointment was that I ordered tea and the water was not super hot. I’ve hardly ever had a good c of tea in a restaurant. My wife ordered coffee was excellent.

The other reviewer wasn’t kidding when they said — best pancakes ever! These are THE best pancakes you’d ever eat! Highest quality, amazing find!

One of the best offerings for breakfast in Enterprise. Be sure to order French press coffee, the house coffee is bland & weak.

Stopped at Red Rooster for breakfast after camping at Wallowa Lake. I had the Philly scramble. The steak was tasty as were the eggs and potatoes. Nice and healthy(big) portions. Even the toast with(real) jelly was yummy. Most importantly though, the service was stupendous. The place was busy and only staffed by a single waitress and she didn’t miss a beat as she hurried from table to table, greeting the regulars by name and not leaving a coffee cup empty. She was also as sweet as can be with an absolutely radiant smile that lit up the whole joint.

Love pancakes? Look no further. I’m going to say it– BESTPANCAKESINTHEWORLD! It’s a secret recipe,(I tried to get it, what do they DO?), I can only tell you that they grind their flour fresh. A classic, authentic, charming small town diner, with roomy booths, friendly staff, large windows, an open kitchen, and a vintage feel. It’s a homey, welcoming place, but not cluttered or cutsey, we saw authentic cowboys at the counter – with excellent food, large servings, lots of home made fare. If you are within 100 miles, make the effort. You will be glad you did. Truly, the pancakes alone are worth more miles than that!

Delicious food, appealing to the eye too, and efficient service by a friendly, smiling waitperson. Large portions, perfect if you’re really hungry. Very clean. Adorable décor, but not too much. We plan on going there every time we’re in Enterprise, OR. We’re so pleased to find an excellent place to eat there. Oh yes, the homemade bread — thick and soft, made with a bit of wheat flour, but not too much. Simply great place to enjoy a meal.

Sitting just off the main highway in Enterprise, this diner-restaurant offers some great food in Wallowa County. Friendly servers chat with locals and tourists alike, while, in the winter, the south windows fill the space with refreshing sunshine. The eggs benedict was spectacular, with a great hollandaise sauce on top of quality ingredients. I’d pass on the biscuits and gravy — the consistency was fine, but the gravy had an odd coconut milk-like flavor to it that I wasn’t a fan of. The potatoes were flat-out mushy, but I have a bias in favor of crispy potatoes. A nice place with nice people, and worth a stop.

Friendly service, large portions. There’s no doubt it’s a café in cattle country but there’s definitely a vegan influence with«green» things in the breakfast menu. The johnny cakes are something unique — good for the kids — «this is what the pioneers ate».

Best biscuits & gravy I have ever had. This is not your ordinary small-town café & I can’t wait to try the rest of their unique creations!

This small town café is a hidden jewel, literally hidden off the main highway on the way to Wallowa Lake. Even though they are located on Main St. their location is just off the highway that runs north to the town of Joseph and the lake. Having spent two days at the lake I can say with confidence that Red Rooster is the best café in the Wallowa Lake area, if not all of Northeastern Oregon. The first thing you notice is the clever décor which is retro country café but not overdone. The second thing you notice is the spotless cleanliness of the restaurant, up to and including the restrooms. It is an all female staff which was explained to me to be a family owned operation with most of the women related to one another. It opened in August of 2012 after the women«spent the summer cleaning, painting and decorating.» The breakfast menu is a delight of traditional and unique dishes with two types of eggs Benedict, pancakes, quiche and others. They also feature breakfast specials each day. The service was friendly and efficient but without the chain restaurant feel. Attention to detail was obvious including slicing the fresh strawberries in the excellent presentation of a side dish of fresh fruit. Prices for breakfast run from $ 6 to $ 10 and are a good value. If you’re in the Wallowa Lake region don’t miss this«hidden jewel» on Main St. In Enterprise.

My sister from San Diego and I(Seattle) were in Enterprise visiting our other sister who lives there for a sibling reunion. The three of us went to the Red Rooster Café for breakfast on Sunday(05÷26÷13). It was fabulous! All of our dishes were delicious and the service was wonderful. One sister and I had the two Egg’s Benedict dishes offered and the to other had the Johnny Cakes. We all loved our choices and shared repeatedly. It’s a cheery place with great energy. I’ll go back every time I’m in this gorgeous corner of the world. It was a memorable breakfast experience and I recommend it greatly. I just wish they were in Seattle!

They were slammed when we got here. The waitresses were literally running. Notwithstanding the café’s obvious popularity, the service was attentive and prompt. If only people worked so hard in Portland. Great menu with lots of fresh options. The food was fantastic. Excellent Eggs Benedict without too much lemon. The home fried potatoes hit the spot. Accompanied by a big cup of quality coffee. To top it off, the place was kid friendly with a delightful kids’ menu. Booster seat and coloring crayons for our two year old. Great place. A treat you don’t frequently find in rural Oregon.
