Spa At Sacred Grounds

Wow! Working in the industry, I don’t have high hopes for massages in resort towns. Technicians are more likely to never see clients again, and therefore tend not to put a lot of intention into services. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by our half hour anniversary massages. I had Jeanie and she had the perfect touch and excellent care. (Also, my husband has never experienced a good massage, and usually passes on the opportunity). This was not the case with Patience;, she was well educated and focused on areas that needed attention. The spa itself was very serene, clean, and relaxing. Thankyou for your amazing service!!! We will definitely be back for a longer service and will add on yoga!

Had a perfect time here on a cold day. Started with a yoga class, then had a service. My masseuse Maia made me feel like a new person… seriously one of the best massages of my life! And I go about once a month in Chicago. Library with the fireplace was extra nice to relax after, drink some tea and read a magazine. Very quiet, indulgent, peaceful morning. To the person who posted below about not being offered a shower: there are a bunch of bathrooms here (I used two of them, one after yoga, another after my service), and both had showers stocked full with towels and bath products… so, like, take a shower! I don’t think you need to ask permission LOL. It’s a spa, not a school. There’s a front desk receptionist, not your mommy or boss :)

Great atmosphere and wonderful massages. Received a great 90min deep tissue massage. Recommended!

I still love Spa at Sacred Grounds. Came back again this year and enjoyed my massage as usual!
One thing I noticed this year and last year: they don’t offer you the opportunity to shower off your oils, etc. I only did this year because I ASKED. I don’t think a client should have to ask for a service like this. Any spa offers their clients the opportunity to shower off the oils and to relax. This is one thing I think they need to work on. My sister and aunt also were not given the opportunity. I felt a bit like I was being rushed out so the next client could come in. Didn’t quite appreciate that.
Will still come next year! Just hope they up their game a little bit!

What a wonderful experience! The entrance to the spa sets a peaceful tone with green and lush plants, and the spa itself is quiet and tranquil. Everyone was smiling and friendly and respectful. I appreciated the library, which is separated from the entrance, as a quiet place to read before my appointment.
I had the Pure Result facial. The products used were kind to my skin (which can be sensitive) and the esthetician (Mary) always made sure I knew what was going to happen next withut disturbing the peaceful experience. I left the spa feeling very pampered and relaxed, and I would definitely return.

My wife and I came here for a couples massage and it was a very nice touch for a weekend getaway.
The ambiance here throughout the entire establishment shouts (or in their case, quietly) nothing but serenity. Very peaceful indeed. The entire staff treats you in the most kind & gentle manner.
As for the massage… it was outstanding. It didn’t take her long to get my muscles relaxed, which is unusual as I tend to be very tense. To my pleasure, she had my entire body very relaxed and malleable in a short period of time. By the end, I was totally relaxed and drifting in and out of consciousness. The session we had was early morning, yet I was able to feel the positive effects of this session all day long.
Guaranteed, we will be checking in here again next time we visit Door County!

One of the worst massages I’ve had.
Masseuse spent more time ‘prepping’ than actually touching my skin.
When we discussed my issues (back pain areas) I guess I expected her to address them… but she barely touched my back at all!
I never know when the most appropriate time is to ask «When is the massage going to start?» and by the time I’m so fed up, she said ‘Your massage is complete’. I was floored.
Also asked me to turn over, which was fine… but then began to lay a warm wet washcloth on my face without asking me!!! It was the middle of the day and I hadn’t expected to ‘re-​do’ my makeup. Wish she was have at least asked before attempting this. I happened to open my eyes (thank goodness) and asked her NOT to do that.
She never asked how the pressure was at all or if I was comfortable.
Her hands were FREEZING as well throughout the entire massage. I thought they might warm up, but no such luck.
Absolutely the lightest pressure was used… which I hate.
So not worth the money for this particular gal. Or I should have been so specific before she started about what I was looking for.
Now my friend also had one at the same time and said her massage was great. We had the same exact type of massage booked.
We also use the same masseuse back home and love her, so I’m guessing it was just who I happened to receive here that was the issue not the spa itself.
All of the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice.
Just wished I could have raved about the service performed.

Nice ambiance for a spa even though it’s on the highway – they have blocked the sound from the road well. Also, they’ve got a fire going and a library full of spirituality and wellness books in the small «waiting room.» The rooms are plain but clean and nice, not cluttered, and the spa music was very lovely. Some of the masseuses can’t do deep pressure – something we should have been told over the phone in case it was desired. The customer service was quite good although one masseuse forgot to say something before ending the massage («There’s some water over here, thanks for coming, take your time getting up») which was a bit confusing for one of our group but not such a big deal. I would definitely go back.

Love this spa the best facial in my life and I’ve been to a lot of spa living in chicago.
