The secret to a really great place to eat is the food they prepare within the restaurant is it as good when it’s takeout. First these guys to do a world-class job perfecting some of the best bar food I’ve ever had. Not to mention the fact when you go can you meet in the owner knows who you are maybe not your name but he knows what beer you had when you were last there! And he remembers what you had to order! Now the real answer can I dined at home and enjoy the same quality of food that I do when In? Last night we bought our first takeout from minor! Let me reassure you the quality of food did you get is the same if not better in takeout! Really impressive fries were not greasy they were Crispin good bread on the burgers was not soggy and wet was crisp and fresh everything correct order! My only concern is that this place will him someday not be there and it will not be supported by the local town? That would be a real shame for the town of Erie! We’re going to do our best to support this establishment at least once a month if not twice! It may not be a lot but I think if everybody visited them at least once or twice a month they would be secure and comfortable and that’s really important!

Good little dive bar in downtown Erie. Went for lunch on Sunday and there were only a couple other people. They have an okay TV set up for watching games, and also had shuffle board and a pool table. The food was good, meat tastes healthy and fresh, yet still juicy. Fries are from real potatoes. Fried pickles taste like dessert.

This is a dark, hole-in-the-wall sort of place. But, far from feeling like a place only broke people or bikers might go, it simply feels like a neighborhood watering hole for those who don’t concern themselves with pretense. They have a nice selection of beers on tap. I enjoyed a Peacemaker Pilsner, which was great. They also have some food available. A couple of burgers that came out smelled fantastic(I’m pescetarian, so that wasn’t happening for me) and I enjoyed some fried pickles. I’d skip the French fries, because even when requested crispy, they come out too soft and dense, an issue with them being fresh cut the day before and soaked overnight. We had a good time here, and I’ll definitely be back. It’s comfortable and friendly.

My wife and I visited this local Erie restaurant just less than a month ago and it wasn’t an experience I will repeat. The Good: Customer service despite the restaurant being busy. If not for the Customer Service I would have left this as a solid 1 star review. The Bad: The Food. Why do you go to a restaurant? Mainly the food and partly the customer service and atmosphere. 1. My fries were burned and cooked in old oil. Regular fries that appeared as if they were heavily seasoned sweet potato fries. Fries should be golden, crisp on the outside and tasty. These were dark dark brown(see picture I added to the gallery) and tasted awful. I gave one a try even though I was dubious about the appearance thinking it was some special seasoning — nope, tasted like rancid oil and well beyond burnt. 2. My wife’s veggie burger. It was wrapped like a burrito with a green chile sauce and seemed to be great in concept and flavor until she found roughly 1⁄3 of it to be inedible because it was burnt to a char and we couldn’t even saw through it with the butter knife we were provided, let alone try to chew through this briquette. 3. My burger was listed in the menu as being ½lb. Being a big fan of burgers over the last 40 years I can tell you that they need to consider getting their scale fixed. I’d be very surprised if it was actually more than 1/3lb pre-cooked with how thin(maybe 1/8″ to ¼″ thickness) and small this burger was. A certain«king of burgers» offers a whopper of a hamburger with more meat on it. 4. While the burger condiments and combination were tasty — my burger was served to me sitting on top of my tomatoes and lettuce. Yes, you guessed it — soggy bottom bun, just what I ordered!

Went to this place with my family… Yes they actually have games for the kids. The food was amazing. We are actually coming back here with friends very soon. This place is becoming the talk of the town. #Hunsberger

Miners Tavern is the greatest. Great atmosphere and people. Locals and newcomers are as friendly as can be. The food is excellent(thank you, Jessie) and Lee, the owner, does a magnificent job running his bar. The bartenders are very social but tend to business first. I love this place because it is genuine, not the yuppie bars that cater to specific groups of people.

This is a 100% local establishment. You will be passed over for karaōke Friday in a heartbeat if a local requests to be on center stage. Beer selection is descent but if it’s all you have, then it’s really all you have right.

Good bar food. Only three stars because we had to wait over and hour and the service was slower than the food. It is Erie Town Fair Day but that’s not our fault. On a regular day we would give them another chance, it would have to be better!

A+. I love the dive bar feel with great comfort food. Our waiter was really cool. He encouraged me to try a different beer than I had originally ordered just to support a smaller brewery. I agreed with him and changed my order. Also, the green chili here was amazing with great spice. They were also doing karaōke– great entertainment. We’ll be back.

This place has great burgers being one of only a few restaurants in Erie. They have really good drink specials and a nice atmosphere. It’s a great place to take friends on a Friday night :-)

Had to check out the burgers everyone raves about. Not much to rave about, the burgers are average at best and had a slight flavor of burnt lighter fluid. Fries were also soggy and flavorless. Seems like a good place for a local dive drink, but cannot suggest the food.

I love this place, the staff and food are amazing. Like most places in Old Town Erie, it is very kid and family friendly. The menu is pretty basic tavern food, but let me say that after two years of searching for a Portillo’s burger replacement in CO, I’ve finally found it. Amazing, char-grilled burgers, big enough to split with my husband, and also said to be from a local source right here in Erie. I feel slightly blasphemous, but I might even like these burgers more than Portillo’s, and they come with a massive pile of fries. It’s an old style, kind of beat up bar feel. None of the tables or chairs match, the paint is rubbing off of the concrete floor. Might sound shady but all put together with the atmosphere it makes for a pretty neat, relaxed, home-town feel. It’s always been clean and neat.

I just wanted to update my previous review as we have stopped by here for a burger every time we have a chance and are near Erie. It is great that they have these huge garage doors that they can open during the summer months. We got a chance to meet Lee, the owner, and what a great guy! He was so friendly and makes the best burgers in the Denver Metro! You gotta try the burger. They have a local butcher, and the meat is out of this world good! Right now they have a special on Tuesdays with like an burger and beer for $ 8.95 or something like that, and $ 3 drafts. Nice Colorado tap selection as well.

An Erie institution. Miner’s Burgers are fantastic. BBQ Cheddar is my favorite. The Green Chili Burger is really good as well. Great beer selection.

Two things you need to know. 1. Best hamburgers anywhere! 2. Even better bloody Mary’s. Who could want more? This is true hidden gem.
