Active Ride Shop

Went in last night and bought my boyfriend a pair of Vans for Christmas. Unfortunately I got them a size too big. I expressed to the gentleman at the register at the time of purchase that I wasn’t quite sure about the shoes and requested a gift receipt just in case. We went back in tonight and not only did they not have the right size, any of the other shoes he liked were also not available in his size so we decided to return the shoes. Well guess what? This place does not do returns, said the very same gentleman who helped me the night before. Only exchanges or store credit. Well you would think any store that has such an out of the ordinary and incredibly inconvenient «return» policy would clarify at the time of purchase or at least ask if I was familiar with their «exchange only» policy. They had nothing in the correct size I needed, no offer to order the correct size, simply «We can’t do anything else for you. Store credit or an exchange are your only options.» Honestly I would understand if they only had a 7 day return policy or something similar but it has been less than 24 hours since my purchase. We found a shirt that my boyfriend was reasonably satisfied with but I was extremely annoyed that I was forced to keep my business with such a deceptive company. I will never shop at this store again. Especially during the holiday season, how can a company force someone to keep a gift that is the wrong size or color or keep their money and force them to pick out something that isn’t the perfect Christmas gift for them? In this day and age, customer service and satisfaction is important and word of mouth keeps you in business. I hope this review, is viewed by enough people that this poorly mismanaged company is forced to change their ridiculous and inconvenient policy, or at least forces their salespeople to have to inform their customers that they have limited options and that they should make sure their purchase is right the first the first time. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Unilocal doesn’t allow zero stars or I would have chosen that option.
I should also note that getting an employee to notice me standing next to him, holding a shoe that my boyfriend wanted to try on, was nearly impossible. The conversations that most employees were having amongst each other seemed to clearly be more important than helping customers. Once again, I will never give this store my hard earned money.

Stopped by Active today with a friend who was shopping for some clothes. I, on the other hand, had no intention on buying anything. We proceeded to the shoe area and was approached by a lovely associate named Kelli. I had my eye on a certain pair of shoes and she immediately asked me if I needed any assistance. She was extremely helpful and courteous with finding me the correct size. I had a wonderful experience and ended up picking up the pair of shoes. Would definitely recommend and shop here again.

Called in today asking for a simple question. I got a good answer and she was helpful by the way her name was Lexi! I was a happy customer, but I ended the phone call with saying «I have a wonderful day Lexi.» And she hung up.

Haven’t been here in a while so I decided to check it out again.
First off I can’t tell who works here and who doesn’t. They should have associates wear a lanyard or something .
The associates were decent not to friendly but not rude. Just OK
The clothing is expensive but hey nobody is forcing you to shop there.
I like their shoe selecting and they always have a sale or clearance section.

I will return for shoes but not for the clothing its to rich for my blood.

This store is Located off of Auto Parkway Across the Street from Del Dios Middle School and in the shopping Center on the far south end near Toys R Us.
Always a good time filled with good talks, good vibes and good threads.
This store is always fully stocked with great items.
Every Wednesday they host a ‘What Up Wednesday Sale’
And this is a great place for clothes, sunglasses, watches, shoes and skateboards that fit anyone’s style or need! All the workers are knowledgeable in their product and will help you find what you want/​need and if they don’t hold any stock of it in their store, they will call other stores to even get it shipped to the store for you.
ACTIVE SOCKS ARE A GREAT GIFT.

If your are into skateboarding, surf and beach culture in general, this is your shop. It wasn’t really for me, but since I went to Ross and was just across from it, I decided to stop by. I would not have expect a huge store dedicated to active wear and accessories in Escondido. Looks to me they can do better in Pacific Beach, for example. Probably is my impression as there were quite a few customers.
I liked the bikini lines they carry, most famous brands, therefore expensive. Was not that impresses with the girls clothing, I think that store is mostly focused in male clientele which is ok. They can enjoy browsing literally hundreds of cool shirts, fun shocks and especially those colorful skateboards.
I just give 3 stars because I felt a little bit out of place and was mostly browsing, however I had the feeling of being followed and constantly asked if I was finding everything ok. I know is better too much than too little, but was a bit intimidating for me.

Honestly, Active isn’t the best place to get clothes and shoes when it comes to price since there are really cheap online stores to shop at. HOWEVER, the fact that you have to pay for shipping most of the time kills me to go that route. And the thing that kills me even more is not being able to try on my clothes before I buy it.
This location is probably one of the better Active shops I’ve been to. I went in again on a Thursday afternoon and was given one of the best customer service experiences of my shopping life. The guy was so friendly and knowledgeable about shoes. He knew the different makes, models, average lifetime, and smell of each shoe (maybe not the smell). Bottom line is, he made my shopping experience a hundred times better. He ended up suggesting I get a pair of Etnies Scouts. I thank him a million times because those pair of shoes are saving my feet in Europe.
The biggest knock I have against Active now is their return policy. Basically, you can’t return items bought in store for money back. You can only exchange or get store credit. This was the biggest load of bull that I had heard in awhile, but I managed to cope (thank God). Also, prices are a bit steep on clothing, but just come in when they have sales.
The verdict: this is a good store to shop at. Be wary of prices and store policy.

More so within the past handful of visits I’ve had bad experiences. Nobody greets or helps me. Always busy talking amongst each other and tend not to help until ask.

Despite the negative reviews, I’ve never had an issue with anyone who works here. Everyone is always helpful, the store is always clean, and they carry everything you want.

Forget this place. Every single time I come into this shop to see if the employees will ask me if I need help with anything or to even greet me, they don’t. This is the worst Active shop I’ve been too. They hire a bunch of poser-​know-​it-​all jerks that only greet and help the rich kids with cool clothes and money.

Active carries a lot of great products, but the only thing that stops me from going there is the poor level of customer service that I experience every time. In addition, the employees are not very knowledgeable as it relates to snowboarding. Do your own research before you decide to drop $ 500 on a new deck because they”re pretty good at misinforming their customers.

This place sucks! I skate all the time and they act like they know everything. I ask a simple question about some independent wheels and thy act like I shouldn’t touch a board. Its one thing to work in a ride shop. Its nother thing to be stuck up. Just because they hate theire lives doenst meant thye should drive away buisness. My advice: If you skate, go anywhere but here.

I was a regular shopper here when I was in high school. A lot of teens drag their parents here so they can buy the latest and coolest surf apparel and Active has one of the best selections of surfer clothes.
I spent way too much money on a skateboard here that broke, but I recommend checking out the cute Ts that Active has. Active manufactures a number of Ts and they can be bought for as low as $ 10. The Roxy and Hurley stuff can be found anywhere, but the Active Ts are an original and great buy. My very cool 26 year-​old brothers still sports them, so they must be purchase worthy.
