Denny’s

If there was a no star option, that is what this Denny’s would get. We came in on a Friday night for a little dessert and coffee. Clearly they were understaffed. The dining room was about a third full and we never even got a refill on our coffee. If I pay $ 2.50 for a cup of coffee I would at least like to get 1 refill. Our waitress and the manager were more worried about making sure that breaks were taken care of that nobody was taking care of the customers. Several people walked out without even being served. We probably should have followed their lead.

People say «You don’t go to Denny’s. You end up at Denny’s.»
Well, after tonight’s experience we will not end up there again.
My sister and I decided to get some coffee and a dessert after watching a production at the local playhouse. We were seated promptly and received our coffee in a timely manner, but that’s all the good I can mention.
We placed our dessert orders at the same time, but they did not come out together and by then my coffee cup was nearly empty. Our server never returned to the table.
After waiting forever, a different server eventually brought our check and asked if we needed anything, but by this time I just wanted to go home. The ticket said my coffee was $ 2.25. Way overpriced when you never get a refill.
At the pay counter I asked if our server had left and we were informed that her shift ended and yes she was gone but another server was taking care of us. I told them that the other server never came and I never got more coffee. I was told that next time I should wave down the manager and ask for a refill. Still paid full price.
Back when I worked in food service, if my shift ended before my tables were done I made sure to do a round to let them know I was leaving and that another server would be taking my place, even introducing the new server when possible. And when I had to take over tables for someone else, I did rounds immediately to introduce myself and make sure the customers had any refills or other requests to fulfill. I certainly would not wait an hour and then just swing by with a check. Bad form, Denny’s.
There will not be a «next time».

This review is based only on the foul smell of mildew that was once only in the women’s bathroom, but has now taken over the entire restaurant. Went in today and me and another person couldn’t eat it smelled so bad. Please replace your mops and use some bleach! Thanks!

Back when I was in high school, Denny’s was never a first choice after a night out with friends. It was «the place people ended up because everywhere was full». Now it’s come to this; Saturday night late dinner before 11:00 o’clock bedtime! LOL

Your service team here is very friendly quick and organized. I adore that you have a senior menu the old meal was fantastic is there anyway you would consider fresh blueberries because the blueberries were the best — fresh blueberries would’ve given you a 5 star rating. Thank you and your team for a very good experience

Dint even try to eat there. As soon as I walk in it smells like dirty toilet.

Late night cravings for pancakes brought us to Denny’s on national pancake day last week. We got there and it was a 20 minute wait. The place was packed but they weren’t seating people in half the restaurant. Well only 4 people were working at the time which was surprising so I can see why they weren’t using some of the tables.
I don’t remember the waiter’s name but he gave great service and you can see him running around helping customers then to the back helping the chef.
I ordered these blackberry pancake balls and they were amazing. So was their blackberry shake. So good and I wanted more right away. The buttermilk pancakes were delicious. Really hit the spot.
I don’t give Denny’s enough credit. I always think of it as average food since it’s a chain that’s everywhere but my last visit was really great. When I have pancake cravings then I’ll definitely be back.

Went in there yesterday while waiting for order our waitress Rosa stops by table to tell us our food is in the window well 3 minutes later she comes back with just a coke in her hand. Then I begin pondering did she tell me that food is ready so I can pick it up. Because upon her return she just had a coke in her hand she could not carry 2 plates and a coke??? Then I see her talking with another waiter for 4 minutes and then she brings drinks to table next to us. Then 8 minutes goes by then another waiter who got tired of seeing our food in window delivers it and not once did she come by after that to check on us oh that is right she came to refill drink and drop off check when meal was complete. I love the prices here but HATE THE SERVICE

Amanda was great at what she does and is the sweetest thing in the world. She made me the bomb sundae! Thank you Amanda! Youre a sweetheart and deserve a raise.

I had the ultimate omelette and i was very disappointed it was so small and had very little taste. Not to add the the parking sucks! Good luck trying to get a spot on the weekends. You literally have to wait and see if someone is leaving the front door of dennys to hopefully catch them leaving and get their parking spot. Not to add thebloacation is horrible. Its located next to a river bed that smells like sewer and mildew. My waitstress looked as if she had partied all night woke up late and just put her hair in a bun all frizzy! Overall a bad experience. And their cook blows

This location is usually busy but they seem to take care of everybody efficiently. I always get good service there and the food is always good. The waitresses are friendly and late night service is no different. They treat all patrons equally regardless of race.

Ordered the Sriracha burger with a side of fries and a Dr.Pepper. My burger was dry and the bread was over toasted. My French fries where a bit overcooked and my Dr. Pepper was pretty much all ice. The only upside to this dinner was our waitress was very friendly and very fast in getting our order placed. I felt the food sucked because of the cook and it doesn’t reflect on the waitress service at all.

Once we arrived we got seated and the host we received was unattended. When we orders our food I seen it come out and it was under the heat lamp. The waitress saw it was out and walked away and she went back and did the same thing again. So I told the waiter Dan if he could bring us our food he did. The order was wrong but I didn’t want to deal with it, so we just ate our food. I don’t think I’ll be coming to Dennys for awhile.

I like coming to Denny’s with my family and they just recently remodeled this location so I decided to come back to this location because I thought the terrible smell of the restrooms would be gone and it was until a couple of weeks later I came back and as soon as I stepped into the restaurant you could smell it and it was really bad, my wife and me decided to go to the competition and I am sure I won’t be back at this location.

How in this day and age does any place not take a coupon off a phone? Hello? Then to tell me I need to print it out, well I just decided to go there on a whim after looking on my smart phone and finding the coupon duuh. Other than that we were there at an off time so food and service were great. If not it would be one star, really irritated at not being able to use coupon.

We arrived on a Monday morning and when we’re were seated we asked for kids menus for our two young ones. Ten minutest later they brought back one menu stapled to a Manila folder?! The food was sub par for Denny’s. It tasted like there was no seasoning on any of our breakfast. My wife’s French toast had no cinnamon and our eggs seamed under cooked for scrambled eggs. There were also a few flys floating about. Overall very disappointed with the service. I will never go to that Denny’s again

Arrived for breakfast and watched multiple tables of people who arrived after us not only waited on first but also given food before we could even place our order.

Horrible! The waiter was so rude, I don’t think I’ve seen one be like this at this Denny’s ever. Maybe it was just a bad day I guess? I don’t know. First of all she gave attitude. Acted like she didn’t even want to be there. Second, mine and my boyfriends utensils still had food on them. When I called the waiter out on it she just snatched the utensil from us and left all mad. Honestly this is so unacceptable. Once we got our new utensils we were hesitant to even eat our food. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR UTENSILS BEFORE YOU EAT WHEN YOU COME HERE.

You can always count on Denny’s to be A-​OK. this particular location in Escondido was no better or worse than any others. I ordered the French toast slam and it was quite good, but nothing special. The coffee was hot and plentiful. And, the service was excellent. I came in on a Sunday, so it was quite busy but they were fairly efficient in their seating assignments. Because in Southern California, the air-​conditioner is always on. The problem with that is that when it is cold and drizzling outside you’re freezing throughout the whole meal and the food gets cold quicker.
Overall, not a bad choice if you’re in the area and you don’t have time for anything else.

Fast service and very courteous staff! I have been eating breakfast at any Denny’s when me and my family takes a trip. From all the Denny’s I’ve eaten this the place I am very much satisfied with their services. Although the there are a lot of people eating inside, the food was served too fast unexpectedly. Usually on other Denny’s I went to, the main concern was it takes a long wait for your food to be serve. Therefore, I give this place a five stars for the fast service.
