Best chicken soup in town! In college this was two blocks away from my apartment and I was ALWAYS here. Especially when I had a cold. Their soup got me through finals every year. Parking is a bit of a hassle, super narrow behind the building, but it’s worth the hassle. I’ve also had their burritos and their carne asada chips and they were sublime.

This place is absolutely wonderful! They can definitely get busy, but its just because the food is so good. Their chicken soup is the BEST. Lourdes is definitely a go-to. If you haven’t been here, you should! I usually call in my order and they always have my order ready and the staff is always nice.

This is one of those secret hole in the wall eateries. They are well known to the locals for their chicken soup«Pozole». Their taquitos are different. Parking in the back.

Had their chicken soup for the first time and it was fantastic! A mixture of flavor with the options to spice it up. Came with a homemade tortilla. I’ll definitely get this again.

I found out about this place from co-workers at my job. Everyone was coming down with something and the way to cure it was the amazing chicken soup from here.(I usually go eat phở when I am feeling under the weather) I recommend ordering ahead of time to avoid waiting.

With the great reviews, I figured I would be happy with my food. I made it simple and got a bean, cheese, rice and sour cream burrito. When the woman said, «$ 7.90» I nearly walked out on principle, but I was starving, so I paid. Nearly $ 8 for a taco shop, meatless burrito??? Are you kidding me??? I was hoping that the burrito would be unbelievable, but I was disappointed. The beans were just ok and the rice was awful. It tasted like pain white rice with a tinge of orange coloring. I will never go back to this place.

There isn’t another place we call when we are in need of that homestyle chicken soup! We use anyone not feeling well as an excuse to all get soup! lol we all love it! I would definitely suggest calling in your order ahead and giving them time to get it ready, especially on rainy days! they get a line out the door and if you call it in, there’s a separate pick up line for that so no waiting! I love bringing my out of towners here because everyone should know about the BESTCHICKENSOUPEVER!

I’ve heard a lot about Lourdes, and I assumed it was going to be the best Mexican restaurant… but I was ehh. kinda wrong. I had their Mexican burrito and their famous chicken soup, and their Cali burrito was probably a 4⁄10. I felt like it didn’t have much in the burrito. I felt like it didn’t satisfy me because it didn’t have enough food or it wasn’t full and thick like other burritos. The soup was good, but I’ve had better. At least I got to try this place for the first time!

My girlfriend loves this place! She loves the chicken soup! I however find my self being more of a realist due to the fact that she told me that this place had the best«authentic» chicken soup! I was expecting to eat a chicken soup that i know as authentic… Which this was not! Soup was ok but what really got me was that the chicken was shredded! So a bit disappointed because I was expecting bone in chicken… Salsa is kinda weak as well.

Lived in Escondido my whole life. This place is one of those go to when you are here places, but I do have to say the food quality has dropped in the time they have been open. It is still good but not something that pops in my mind right away when I want Mexican food. Their famous soup is good and their tortillas are amazing!!! Other than that it’s typical mexican for me. Service is definitely better than fast food mexican food places so that’s a plus. In all I’m let down by the quality but it is still a decent place to go.

Fast service for call-ahead orders! It only takes 10 – 15 mins for our food to be ready for pick up. Their food portions are very well sized(aka a good amount of food) and it’s really good!

Went there for lunch and the line was long, I was waiting for my turn patiently… then their Amigo showed up. It does not matter who’s there first, their Amigo gets the 1st service. Unfortunately for me, I am not their Amigo… so I will not going back there or recommend this place to my Amigos.

Chicken Soup !! that’s all I come here for and that is what they are famous for. I usually don’t get sick but when I do I come here for some good old fashion chicken soup. It always makes me feel better. I have never been here when I wasn’t sick … Hmmmm maybe I will have to try other things on the menu when I am feeling normal.

I love this place. Its really good. I love their fish tacos and mole burrito. Their prices are nice too. Its close to work so weekly i get myself some fish tacos. Their enchiladas were pretty good too. The workers are very friendly and since we speak the same language it seems very homesy. Try their fish tacos! I like that they use real plates. Except to go. Im actually craving some fish tacos right now. But i hate restaurants that use fake plates its pretty nasty. But if they had good fish tacos loke lourdes they would make up for it. A little ghetto but to me that makes it that much cooler. Ghetto fish tacos in esconghetto!!! You betcha!

The one and only thing that is truly great here is the chicken soup. Yes, it is the BEST in town and actually the best I have ever had. The rest of the food is more expensive than any other Mexican take out in town with smaller portions and inferior taste. Last week my kids were sick so we ordered the chicken soup, which I have a already mentioned is the best on the planet, and, while I was there, a few other items including carnitas burrito, shrimp cocktail and 2 bean and cheese burritos. Plain and simple, do not order anything but the chicken soup. there is a reason the chicken soup swag and brags are posted all over the building. I have been here many times and tried many different menu items. All are way sub par with exception of the soup.

I only order chicken soup here… with that being said they have the best chicken soup in town maybe even in california. I have yet to try a better chicken soup than this spot. This place is popping when it rains, try calling ahead to place an order or wait 10 minutes in line to dine in. Definitely a must when recovering from a cold or need some mexican comfort food.

«Best chicken soup in town!» So glad I finally got to try this chicken soup that’s apparently the talk of the town. 32 oz chicken soup is just under $ 8. It seems pretty costly for soup, but I was able to feel full with the chicken soup alone. Between the avocado slices, rice, onion, and huge chicken chunks, the soup is certainly substantial. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, tacos are $ 1.99(excluding fish and shrimp). Naturally, I ordered a carne asada taco, which I ate the day after since I was full from the chicken soup. I consumed the whole taco and it was decently good, particularly the generous guac. Not the best taco ever(see my reviews on Oscar’s for more info). All in all, Lourdes knows what they are doing with their chicken soup. The flavor is not too strong, but you can spice it up with pickled jalapeños at the condiment bar. Good comfort food :). FYI, card transactions must be $ 5+ but that’s easily doable.

I wouldn’t consider Lourdes very high on my list for Mexican food. I know it’s been said by everyone else, but chicken soup is the only thing I’d recommend here. The rest of the food has been less than stellar. In general, I would call it bland. When you see a sign that says«Credit Machine out of order, cash only», but it’s printed and laminated, you can tell it’s that way to stay. Quit trying to be cute or deceptive about it. The service is really nothing special(maybe less than average? They rarely come by your table if you’re dining in).
