This is completely tucked away off the main road… and truly a hidden gem. I had a coupon for ‘free family admission’ so we decided to check it out. Something different for the kids… It’s tiny(you’ll be done in about an hour) but has tons of information and fun kids activities. If you’re in the area, stop by.

Came in on the way back from wine tasting in Julian ca. Just to check out the place and stretch my legs. There was a super cute dog named Baxter to came out to greet me and my mom right away as well as a nice girl with dark brown hair who worked there who was also really nice and smart. A large room with plenty of interesting displays that tell a story of the early settlers in the area and their way of life.

I read about the SD archaeology center in the San Diego U-T. So I decided that for $ 2/person or $ 5/family, this place was worth a look-see. It seems like it’s so far away, it’s 1.5 miles down the road from the Wild Animal Park; and it is quite small. But there really is 10,000 years of San Diego history packed into this little building! There are neat little displays about how humans and the tools they used evolved throughout time and there are really great child activity centers sprinkled throughout the building. There are decent used history/map books for sale and you definitely will learn something here. Overall, it was neat.
