My company has had the annual Christmas party here. The food was not impressive and the decorum was very plain. The atmosphere was dark and dirty. One dish I really love is the broccoli and crab stuff chicken.

My husband and I live nearby and really like Jads food. We usually go with soups and sandwiches, fries etc. and usually our order is carryout. The past 2 times our order has been missing items, that we dont know are missing till we get home because the lady at the carryout desk says she has checked the bag so we trusted her, and the last time they lost our order completely. We really like the food but are having a hard time with carryout.

I really love the food but tonight the service sucked. We waited 40 before I complained that we had not got our soups after the people who knew the waitress got served before us. Our main meals came before the soups. My meal was cold. We were told there would be an adjustment to our check. There wasn’t. I went and asked about the adjustment and was told the meal came out at a reasonable amount of time. The other girl said but his food was cold. Let me check with«Diane». They gave me 10% off. Well that want not acceptable to me. I’ve been in customer service my whole life. And that is not customer service. We got no sorry this happened. Only thing I heard was we are really busy tonight. Is that my fault?

Well if you go by some of the other reviews you will get the impression the serves is bad, not at all the case but they are very busy and don’t stop by a lot. But they do pay attention to you when in your area and they all wait on each others tables, for what I can tell. The chip beef is well rated on here. As chip beef is one of my all time favorites to eat anytime of day or night I personally would give it an above average rating for the Baltimore area. As for being the best its not, for what I have had, but it is homemade and not out of a can as so many restaurants have gone to and therefore its really good. I wish they had Home made bread for the toast but that just my preference. I could see where they could use a bus boy to keep tables clean so the wait staff could do there job of waiting on customers. Very clean and friendly staff I’ll be making this a regular stop while I’m here.

Horrible place!!! Believe me I know for a fact there employees do not wash their hands, they keep their food in outside freezers which is against health codes, they slow underage drinking, and the rags they clean tables with they hand outside on a fence to dry!!! They also have RATS. Save your gut don’t eat here!!!

I go here at least three times a month maybe more, the breakfast is cheap, and on point. The morning drink menu is out of this world! After all, the best way to fight a hangover is to consume more booze! The steak specials are always a good choice, paired with a bottle of bud and a keno ticket!

Slow kitchen, ribs were tasty but dry, colossal crab cake had tiny lumps rather than even regular lumps of crab, tasted ok but certainly no wow factor, they forgot one of our sides, the bench at the booth was so crooked/unlevel and sticky from not being cleaned well that we moved to another table. A lady in the restroom told me to sit carefully on the toilet because I could fall off since the toilet was wobbly. They brought us the check w/out offering dessert. I wouldn’t go there again.

This place is the best mom & pop restaurant in all of Maryland. The deals are too good to be true. Bartenders are quick, friendly and attentive. Daily specials are like WHOA. that’s the price. I just finished a $ 21 popcorn shrimp &10NY strip… with two sides. Off the hook. Bring your family, friends.

When someone asks for a great place to eat in the area, I say JAD’s. Some would say, pizza johns. Not me. I don’t like frozen food and greasy pizza made from«family» recipe. Nope! JAD’s is home cooking. Service doesn’t have to be good. Atmosphere doesn’t have to be good. Why? Cus the food is excellent. Close your eyes, scroll your finger across the menu and order whatever you land on. You won’t be disappointed. Drinks are priced to be affordable and they have nice rooms to use for showers, birthdays or whatever else you need. DJ on Friday and Saturday nights are good. Bar maids make strong tasty cocktails. What else? I don’t know, go try it!

Whenever we visit the in laws in Middle River we always make it a point to stop at Jads. I have had the chicken chesapeake which was awesome, HUGE lumps of crab on top and good crab not fluff. The double crab cakes are massive and delicious as well. The crab soups are always good… can you see a trend here? Yes I guess I have only sampled the crab options but they are all so delish I dont mix it up. I usually get a beer and they have a nice selection and pricing is fair. They are usually jam packed and they also show fights at the bar side which is a plus. From the outside you might not want to go in but DO as it will be worth your while! I have only been to Jads for dinner so my review is based on their dinner menu.

I come here for one thing, cream of crab soup. The crab cakes are okay but everything else is not great. Service could use a little work but it doesn’t bother me. You’ll feel like you’re eating in a senior center most of the time but at least it’s quiet.

Jad’s is one of those places where you get treated like part of the family. The crab and shrimp scampi special is maybe the best thing I have ever eaten. I have never had anything bad. Some highlights: cream of crab soup, the breakfast crab omelette, the crab cakes and the fries. Battered fries that are crunchy and seasoned just right. Cheap drinks and a fun bar staff. It’s not a fancy restaurant but if you get past the sort of rundown looking(but always clean) inside you will get some of the best food you’ve ever had!

I’ve been coming to Jads Caddy Shack for years! It has such a home atmosphere and a I love the home cooking. I love their chicken Caesar salad! The dressing is so good and creamy! The cream of crab soup is amazing! We’ve tried the crab pretzel that was okay I guess. My husband loves the open roast beef sandwich with their sweet potatoes. My children love coming here! They know it as the restaurant with the rocking horse! I do have to say the service is slow so if your in a rush you might not want to try but we enjoy ourselves every time we go! So if you’re looking for a place with that home cooked meal go here!

Jad’s is our go-to local spot. Casual atmosphere with two sides… a lounge/bar and a regular restaurant. Menu is huge and staff is wonderful. We have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner, sometimes all in the same day! The Crab Omelette is amazing. The Fried chicken is the best in the area. Crab cakes are good, but not the best I have had in the area. Good homestyle, country cooking with large portions for the prices.

Went here this evening for a wedding celebration. Eh. Service was ok. The food, not so much. I ordered a crab cake, fried shrimp, fries and broccoli. I LOVE crab cakes! But I didn’t finish my food. That should tell you something…

I got the Shrimp salad Sandwich tonight. It was awesome. Huge shrimp piled high on crispy toast, enough mayo to hold it together, but not enough to feel arteries clog, and a lot of seasoning to give it a great flavor. Served with crispy fries that were still soft enough in the center to not feel like you’re eating chips. I also got the Vegetable Beef Soup to start. There were a lot of large chunks of beef in a flavorful broth with loads of vegetables. It was impressive. I didn’t even want crackers in it. On most visits here, I usually get the ½ pound cheeseburger, which I am never disappointed with. It’s huge, juicy, and full of flavor. I also play pool here a lot. They have 3 tables that are $.50 a game before 6 pm, then it goes down to $.25 after that. All in all, it’s a good choice in Essex.

This place is for elderly people and families. Very polite and traditional/old fashion atmosphere, but it’s like the hot spot in town for elderly people. I really enjoyed the portion sizes and the overall food, it gives me a sense of home cooked meals.

I go to Jad’s strictly for breakfast, so I cannot attest to the quality of other meals. I would find it VERY hard to believe it is the WORSTFOODONTHEPLANET, as mentioned by another reviewer! Their breakfast menu is massive, and they have a bunch of combos, which is always a big plus in my book. Their breakfast food is solid, unspectacular, standard fare that’s pretty much done right just about every time. The food usually comes out quickly, though the wait staff is consistently inconsistent. On occasion you’ll get the clearly«having a bad day» waitress who is not at all concerned with hiding the fact that she’s unhappy or pissy! Gotta love my neck o’ the woods here in the eastern ‘burbs of Bawlmer! Some standouts include the cream chipped beef and the sausage patties. I’d recommend avoiding the coffee. Not good… not at all. The prices are OK overall, though you can get some pretty massive bargains on weekday mornings, when they have some nice, cheap specials.

I like this place. It is definitely a local/casual spot and it’s not very modern. I feel comfortable here but don’t expect elegance. It’s a family restaurant. I really enjoy«THEBEAST»(breakfast), «turkey club sandwich»(lunch) and their«chicken pot pie»(dinner). They are my sure shot meals. It’s worth checking out if you want decent food, and decent service.
