This is a great little«locals» find in Estes. Vibe of a greasy spoon, menu of a larger restaurant. We were blown away by the number of choices and variety on the menu from types of oatmeal, to pancakes, to French Toast and more! It would easily take 10+ trips to try everything that looked good on the menu. In addition to variety, the service is also excellent. Though we were told there would be a 45 minute wait(11am on Sunday of a holiday weekend), it ended up being more like 15. Our server was friendly, fast and helpful. Everyone we spoke to was kind. The food itself was pretty good. My favorite was the white chocolate pineapple coconut pancake. It was sweet without being overly so and the add ons lent interest to the flavor. Eating the pancake was like taking a brief tropical vacation! Both of the hash scramble dishes were also fresh with high quality ingredients. Both were a touch on the bland side(we wondered if this was because neither of us got eggs) and required a little hot sauce and pepper. Great little placed tucked away in the strip mall near Safeway that’s worth a visit!

My family and I ate here because we had to evacuate a cabin we were renting due to house fire in the early morning hours. We decided to go to breakfast and ended up choosing Notchtop and were all thrilled with the variety of breakfast food and coffee, lattes, etc. The variety wasn’t even the best part… the food and drinks were DELICIOUS! I would drive back up to Estes from Denver just to eat there! The service was also very good and friendly! :)

Maybe they were having a rough day but based on our lunch experience here on a Sunday in October, I would give Notchtop 3 stars. We came here based on the 4-star average rating from Unilocalers. Our dining experience was a bit of a disappointment, to say the least. It seems other Unilocalers were happy with the quality of their food while my husband and i found it so-so. The portions were average. The waitstaff was unexcited to be there and that really set the vibe at the restaurant. It was strangely subdued — I’m used to brunch /lunch being an energetic affair as the best meal to start off the day!

If you are like me, visiting Estes Park and looking for truly great food, please bypass the popular touristy spots and go straight to Notchtop first. Wish we had. According to the info on the menu, everything baked, cooked on premises. Locally sourced ingredients. Non-GMO. My «Santa Fe Hash» and Hubby’s «Cave Man Hash» were excellent. Sad that we only had one meal left while in Estes Park. Would have tried the«Dragons Egg Rock Benedict», «Blueberry Granola Honey Wheat Pancakes», or White Chocolate Coconut & Pineapple Pancakes”… Service was wonderful, pleasant, helpful. And get the green chili, not red, sauce.

As a local this is my go to spot for breakfast. Dragon’s Egg Benedict is something you won’t find anywhere else! Their expansive menu has something for everybody. Being so good and conveniently located if you go on a weekend or anytime in the summer you can expect a wait. but it will be worth it. Judith is great server.

I always love this place and today the food was very good again. Only one complaint. There weren’t many people at all in the restaurant. When the waitress took our order my husband ordered a cup of coffee. It was about 10 minutes before she brought it and when we asked why she said she had been getting waters for all the tables and other drinks. We really thought she should have got that coffee to our table faster. But the food is always good and the service was excellent after we complained about the coffee and the waitress was coming by all the time asking how everything was. I ordered a Reuben and it was delicious and my husband ordered a Polish Dog. It looked very good. We shared sweet potato fries and onion rings, always good!

Great little café in Estes Park. Stopped here with my mom and sister and had a late breakfast before shopping along the main avenue. I had the Santa Fe hash and it was tasty, though my eggs were undercooked I still enjoyed the dish. The menu is huge there is something here for everyone.

We stopped in for breakfast and the menu was extensive. There were so many choices we had to ask for some guidance on what we should order. After a while we decided we would order two things and split them. We got the Santa Fe hash(on the recommendation of our server) and the Longs Peak turkey club. The Santa Fe hash was ok –it came with green chile but not knowing that you wouldn’t be able to tell there was any on there. The club, on the other hand, was amazing! Huge sandwich with robust flavor. Service was mediocre but the food did come out very quickly. I would go back to try one of their other items.

Delicious, delicious food. Epically slow service. Granted, they warn you on the menu that they’re slow as balls, so there’s that. The food and prices were great. I have allergies like you read about in books, and they were able to accommodate me. The food was something I will do my best to replicate at home, and my normal-eating friends commented that it looked good. Note: it was gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, and nightshade-free. Yeah, and still good. Even better, there was not a single piece of melon in the fruit bowl. NOTONE. Miraculous.

In my opinion, it is not easy to find good food in Estes Park. I saw that this one had a 10% off check in offer and that’s what drew us in. I believe it is family owned, so that was a plus. The food here was delicious! Great variety, you can easily satisfy any craving at this establishment! Staff was friendly, bathroom was clean, service was quick. Loved the wooden wall and décor they had as well! We will be back on our next Estes round!

I really enjoyed my pineapple coconut oatmeal. Ive never ordered oatmeal from a restaurant and I’m glad I did. It was very good and I was able to make it to my soupy hearts desire with hot milk and brown sugar. I was turned off by my yogurt being warm but other then that it was very good. My husband enjoyed his cave man hash as well. They probably need a different hostess. If you’re in a primarily English speaking region and you can’t pronounce English names identifiably then hosting a restaurant probably isn’t your thing. However our server was a lovely young women who was fast, efficient and got the job done with a smile.

Great little breakfast joint! We went here twice and loved the atmosphere and the many choices on the menu! Very filling, creative breakfasts. If you can’t find something here you like, better stay at home! Be prepared to wait on a Sunday. During the week it was not a problem to get a table right away. Hash browns are delicious, and a side order is big, so enough to share. The chocolate chip pancakes are more like chocolate lava pancakes.. .with the chips all in one place, oozing chocolatey goodness. Checking into Unilocal from there gets you a 10% discount.

I was pretty hungry and it seems I’m always aiming to try something new. I’m a huge eggs Benedict fan and I typically don’t shy away from any food concoction. I can’t exactly remember the name of what I had but it was eggs Benedict atop pancakes and a black bean mixture. It was awesome and kept me fueled through my ten mile hike! The staff was very sweet and kind! Didn’t get any baked goods, coffee, or smoothies but I was seriously tempted!

Fairly standard breakfast offered at fair prices. A great thing about notchtop is that there is something for everyone. You can easily eat low calorie, low cholesterol meals as well as vegan vegetarian meals if you desire. The meals themselves are mediocre. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and the gravy was a bit starchy and floury and the biscuits were mushy. I ordered a veggie scramble and the veggies were a bit undercooked. However, the fruit side was great. The fruit was ripe and not full of melon like many restaurants I dine at. My mother’s omelette was probably the best meal. She ordered the turkey omelette and they were not skimpy with the turkey bacon. The potato side though was pretty mushy and bland. Also, it came with this sauce– hollandaise or cheese? — whatever it was, it was a bit sour, like vinegar.

The other reviews were right. This is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. We stopped for a late breakfast. The menu offer a lot of options, it took us some time to decide. I had a craving for pancakes, and Northchop delivered with a stack of delicious honey wheat blueberry pancakes. Just writing this makes me hungry. My daughters had sandwiches, all of them were quite good. My wife ordered an omelet which was quite tasty. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is close to downtown and had plenty of parking. We probably will come back next time we visit Estes.

I was so hoping for the Mexican benedict, but it wasn’t on their internet menu. Instead I had the smoked salmon benedict, which came with potatoes. My boyfriend had some traditional style breakfast, which included sausage, eggs and toast. The tea tasted moldy. I took a drink of it and gasped. I ordered some water instead. The potatoes were cooked until they were slightly burned. My benedict was just boring. The English muffin was not like any other english muffin I’ve had. It became soggy and mushy quickly. None of my food seemed to be spiced. My boyfriend thought his food was okay. What I LOVE about this café is the outdoor patio facing the snow topped Rocky’s. The temperature was perfect at 9:00 a. m near the end of June. Our server with the«Amy Winehouse» lined eyes was a great server and she was prettier than Amy Winehouse.

The Boy ordered the French Toast Sandwich — ham, eggs, and cheese between two slices of french toast. I ordered the Dragon’s Egg Rock Benedict — green chile pancakes topped with black beans and salsa, the obligatory poached egg, and a fantastically rich and spicy chipotle hollandaise sauce. We both wolfed down our meals, and The Boy liked my hollandaise so much that he got a side to dip his sandwich into. Now we know where to go in Estes for breakfast!

What an amazing experience, my lover’s Organic Earl Grey tea was served in a tea press. My coffee was very warm and tasty after a cold morning in Rocky Mountain National Park. The menu is wonderful with all sorts of diverse breakfast items! The staff was very friendly and attentive and took great care of us. My love had the Sundance mountain Benedict, she loved the turkey and avacado version of Eggs Benedit. I, being a spicy guy, had the Dragon’s Egg Rock Benedict(I posted a picture of them and the menu listing for the ingredients) and it was great. Brownies and cookies are very low cost. I will come here again for breakfast next time I am in Estes Park and I will tell all my friends about this great place!

Value for money gab es hier! Meine Begleitung hatte ein Oatmeal und war mit Qualität und Menge ebenfalls sehr zufrieden. Fazit: ich kann den Laden zum Frühstücken absolut empfehlen.
