food is average, service was good on a light Tuesday morning when there were only 2 tables

It was an average breakfast place. The green chili was not the best i ever had but was decent. Staff was friendly. We had the tamale special, eggs and French toast. It was in general under seasoned, and not memorable. The bacon was good.

I was wavering between two and three stars but settled on two. The positives were that we were seated quickly and the staff was friendly. The food is OK but lacking. I was hoping for more of a homemade, locally owned type restaurant and while the Mountain Home Café is locally owned, the food isn’t really homemade. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak breakfast. The chicken fried steak was a pre-frozen chicken patty with gravy that was decent but I would guess it was from a packet or can. I had a breakfast(I can’t remember the name of it) that had hashbrowns, cheese, green chili, and eggs with tortillas on the side. The hashbrowns were crispy and the eggs were cooked well but the green chili didn’t have much flavor. Both of our meals had plenty of food, we did not leave hungry, but the quality of it was meh.

2 stars cuz it was hot. Chai latte was powdered mix. Southwestern omlette had cheese very little chorizo and corn. But was missing peppers onions etc. Green chili was not spectacular, I only had 2 bites. Hash browns were crispy but def not homemade. Scrambled eggs were cold. Waiter was very polite and quick!

Awesome food, and very reasonably priced, but most importantly, great service! Our server Fabio, was so attentive and brought everything we asked for within seconds, even when as the restaurant got busier. The breakfast chile rellenos are sooo good. Will definitely be back!

I was in Estes Park overnight and we picked this place out for breakfast. It sits tucked away in a strip mall but it’s worth the hunt. No froofy brunch food here, just good old fashioned hearty breakfast food. You can tell it’s a favorite for locals. I’m quite certain that my friends and I were the only out of towners in the place. I had a breakfast burrito smothered in chili verde, yum! I asked for only one scrambled egg in my burrito vs the two advertised on the menu(I hate when things are over«eggy»). I’m quite positive that request was missed but it was good nonetheless. I had to ask our server for things a few times in order to get him to follow through, but he was polite all the same. If you’re in Estes Park and want some simple comfort breakfast food, I’d say this place is your best shot.

We loved this place! Service was great, friendly and fast. We had Erik as a server and he was great!!! Omelets here are very good, my boyfriend asked for his huevos rancheros with extra refried beans and got what he asked for with no ridiculous charge. Get the Alaskan Baked Oatmeal, it’s to die for! We will be sure to come back next time we’re in Estes

We ended up here because we could find no parking for the places on Elkhorn. Estes Park is a crazy awful touristy place, too many people, not enough parking. We were happy with our food. We had very low expectations. The trout was okay, a little fishy. It was very small, my son would have tossed it back in the water if he caught that size trout fishing. Nice coleslaw, a good homemade biscuit. The San Francisco burger was good. The potato salad side was fine. It’s not like any place in this town is worthy of ever being noted for good food. So when you find a place that has parking, the service is somewhat decent, the food is edible, you are satisfied. In San Francisco, all the places I give four stars in Estes would get two stars We enjoyed hiking today and were so glad we went early(8 am) because when we left(11am) the line to get into park was over a mile long and there was no parking at the trails, so those people had another hour or two to wait for parking. Go early people!!!

We were in Estes to see the leave colors for fall and needed a quick stop for lunch. It was about 230pm on a Sunday, and we knew this restaurant closed at 3pm. They gladly accepted us and eventhough we were a little late they said it was fine. I ordered a BLT and my friend had the burrito. Both were delicious, definitely a quick stop with delicious food!

We stopped for lunch after a morning in the park. We each had a BLT. DH had a bowl of barley soup too. The soup was good. Our BLTs were good too, but a bit over toasted. If you have a toasted preference be sure to let them know.

Last time I was in Estes Park, CO there were two places to have breakfast, the bagel shop and the Egg & I. This place has been sorely needed in the area for a long time, and I am happy during this mini-vacation to have found it. It is a small quaint strip mall restaurant that offers good food, at a good price. The menu has enough of a variance that most anyone can find anything they want. Colorado tradition holds up for scrambles, they also offer Tex-Mex with Migas. The food was good, portions were good and the staff was friendly. So why didn’t I give it 5 stars? The waiting area for a table is tiny, and while during the summer/fall months you can be outside, during the winter it would be a major issue. Something to think about for those that are reading this and it is snowing out.

Sunday is a prime day, so the place was packed for brunch. We put our names in both here and at Notchtop, and went with whoever had a table first. On this day, it was Mountain Home. Lucky enough to get a table on the outdoor patio. Nice atmosphere. Service was rather slow, but they were jam-packed. Interesting menu choices. Went with an egg scramble, which I enjoyed. It was very filling. Coffee was good and I would definitely go here again. The breakfast places(here and Notchtop) had the best food in Estes Park.

We came here on a rebound after waiting at Top Notch and being completely ignored. Upon arrival the atmosphere was calm, and a hostess was ready to help. However, I received hassle for my service dog despite his service tags and leash. «We don’t take pets»… After my insistence, we were sat. Our service was quick, respectful and attentive. I ordered the Arizona Hash which was eggs, hash, and roasted peppers. I’d give the food 3.5 stars for it’s price range. The kids menu was a bit… lacking, to say the least. It was pretty awkward waiting in line for the bathroom. They have chairs in front of the doors, so if you don’t sit while in line, you’re basically in everyone’s way. Overall, we’d come back but it won’t be a first choice. The end.

We chose this location due to it being close by, and the great reviews here. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. The service was greatly lacking. We sat with empty cups for quite a while numerous times, and had to continuously flag someone down. The food took at least an hour to get to the table, and the server never stopped by and let us know it was coming soon. Once we finally got our breakfast, we were disappointed. Eggs were crusty and only warm. The omelet was flavorless, despite the great toppings. The best we can say is the French toast was as good as it is anywhere, and the hashbrowns were good with ketchup. There were only three in our party, and the restaurant was fairly busy, but it’s summertime in Estes Park, so it’s likely just as busy every morning.

I loved this place. This cute little restaurant is located in the same strip shopping center as Topnotch, which I recently reviewed. The food is so much better though. I had hueovos rancheros and my boyfriend had the traditional egg, sausage, potato and toast breakfast. Everything was delicious. The patio view isn’t as great as the patio at Notchtop, but the food is much better.

While waiting for our tour at the Stanley, we found this place on Unilocal!Short walk or drive to this nice location with some outdoor seating, great service, and a wide variety on the menu of food done well. We left very satisfied.

A fine alternative to its neighbor Notch Top, which is currently closed for renovations. This café does include an outdoor patio, but much of the view of the mountains is obscured by the brick wall of the shop next door. The service on a Saturday morning was decent, my group of six was seated relatively quickly however the wait time before and after ordering was longer than it should have been for the moderate level of business. The belgian waffle combo was good, I added pecans and was pleased to find them cooked into the waffle instead of as a topping. The eggs and bacon however were something I could have made at home(and were forgotten until I mentioned them.) This restaurant is very average. I would go again, not my first choice, but not my last resort either.

Basic breakfast place doing everything right. Good coffee, attentive staff, efficient kitchen. We dropped by when the place was packed, but didn’t have much of a wait for the food to get to the table. Good spot to bring the kids, very kid-friendly.

Yummy! Another great breakfast place in Estes emerges. Yay! This was my first visit to Mountain Home and I knew I was going to be pleased: It was loaded with locals and the special was tamales! Two specials, please! While we had to wait a bit for our food, we paused to notice the place was slammed! Off season and all! The tamales came as ordered and we ate like prison wards– they were that good! Glad to have this spot in my back pocket!

We visited Estes Park from Castle Rock and when we arrived this morning, we Unilocaled good breakfast places and this one had good reviews. Breakfast here was alright. We all got something different. The menu options were a little overwhelming though, they should really narrow it down some. My breakfast and my moms breakfast came with chorizo, and we both felt they slacked. Non exaggeration: it was crumbles and couldn’t even taste it. The speed of service was nice and the place looked clean.

I’m not sure why this place has such great reviews, unless it’s service related. Our waitress was kind, friendly and very helpful. The food, however, was lackluster. My corned beef hash had a tang that I couldn’t quite place, and was hoping wasn’t a sign of bacteria. Fingers crossed, so far so good. My husband’s eggs Benedict was… awful. Literally not good. He ended up picking it apart and eating the ham. It tasted really… packaged and fake. Maybe we ordered the wrong things – the French toast someone else ordered looked better? I wouldn’t say we’ll be giving this another chance, but it appears as though it was edible, hence the two stars.

Super yummy. They have gluten free options and I subbed in the egg whites on my skillet. Really hearty food that’s very flavorful. The servers were nice and attentive the food came out fast. The coffee was really gross. Skip that. Lol
