Excellent atmosphere and the food is very good. The dress is everything goes. Got to see a young man propose to his girlfriend too. The service was very good, very attentive staff. Definately will come back

I made a reservation for two and requested a quiet table with a view. When we arrived we were greeted and handed menus to peruse while they cleaned up our table. It was right by the window, at sunset. The view outside was gorgeous. To start we had the cheese platter(both cheeses were yummy, and came with olives, meats, dried cranberries and walnuts). I ordered filet mignon(paired with Josh Cellars Cabernet) and my husband had the elk tips. Both were delicious, but the filet was a bit tough, and the veggies could have been cooked and seasoned better. For dessert we shared tiramisu, which was creamy and delightful. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Overall, I would highly recommend Twin Owls if you’re in Estes Park.

I had to make a Unilocal to write this review. That being said this place was just amazing. The food and the atmosphere was just perfect. Me and some of my family came to Colorado to visit my sister. On the last day of our trip we searched restaurants in Estes park and we decided to go with twin owls steakhouse and boy am I glad we did. I got the roasted duck and it was delicious. I heard no complaints around the table. This place exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I’m sure we will be here next time we visit.

Cheesecake was good, elk was good. But overall the food was not the best. The dessert was the best part of the meal. Service was okay.

A fantastic meal with a wonderful view. The filet in the salad was cooked to perfection, so tender and flavorful. The grilled pork chop was also very flavorful, the topping and apricot sauce accented the flavors. The attentive staff and wonderful views rounded out a truly delightful dining experience.

Food was ok and the service was pretty bad. The meal wasn’t times very well and they constantly interrupted to fill water and ask how the food was. The waitress rushed us also bc a big group was coming in soon

I loved the wood cabin look. We were seated in this cozy table near an in-wall book shelf. It was very homey and we got to read up on Estes Park history. The kabobs were very taste, and the duck was fantastic. The amount of duck I was given was impressive. The a sweet potato was also well done. I need to learn how to make sweet potato that good. We had a local winery which was very refreshing since that’s our goal when we travel is try more local things then chains. The service was quick and friendly. Overall we will return.

Absolutely fantastic meal from start to finish. The appetizer sampler for two was delicious. My husband had the elk medallions which he described as «tender and succulent». I had the leg of lamb which was superb. The only minor criticism would be that the vegetables were undercooked. The desserts were also delicious. We had the chocolate mousse cake and the tiramisu. The ambiance was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Estes Park.

We had dinner here last night to celebrate our getting married that morning. The good: — Nice ambiance — We had a very nice private table — Our veggies were perfectly cooked — Wife’s elk medallions were perfectly cooked — They are willing to substitute items — Free glass of champagne due to our celebration — Wife’s rosemary potatoes were great — Service was prompt and friendly The not so good: — My elk was dry and overdone — My mashed potatoes were way too salty — My lobster was overcooked and dry — My part of the desert — the crème brûlée — was just ok Due to the fact that this restaurant must be one of the most expensive in Estes Park, you definitely don’t get what you pay for. If they were in Denver they wouldn’t last very long.

This place is amazing and I highly suggest it. The quality of food is equivalent or better than what you’d get at those expensive al la crate steakhouses — but cheaper. They do a wonderful job with the ambiance and service. The wine was well-priced and delicious. The food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the elk medallions, my grandfather ordered the lamb chops and my grandmother ordered the filet mcgregor. All 3 were absolute perfection. I highly suggest you try this place out.

My fiancé and I both had the filet mignon salad and substituted the elk tips ! Wowww! Delicious. We also had the French onion soup which was very lovely. For dessert we shared the trio; brownie, cremé brûlée, and bread pudding. Yummmmy! The Twin Owls had live music; a guitarist who played quite lovely instrumental melodic light jazz through the evening. We throughly enjoyed our dining experience; our waitress was also very lovely and attentive as well. I highly recommend this restaurant !

Definitely glad we tried this out. They have a lovely restaurant, and responsive and friendly staff. Our water glasses were never empty. The bread and French onion soup were great, even if the latter was lava hot and had to sit for a few minutes. The house filet mignon was good. The toppings and sauce were great, but it was a bit over seared and was more medium well than medium. The parts that were medium were great. The side vegetables and rosemary potatoes were nothing special. I had chocolate mousse cake and my husband had crème brûlée. Both were just ok. Mine seemed like it had sat in the freezer for too long. Several parts of the meal were a solid 4, and some were more of a 3. For the price, this was a little disappointing, but the venue and service made up for it and it was a lovely evening. I also think it was a great choice in the more limited options in Estes Park.

We made reservations for 5:30pm and I am glad we did make reservations and also for an early hour. We were there for a good 2 hours and left the place at 7:30pm. 3 glasses of wine later and with amazing food in my belly. You really get what you pay for! We got a bruschetta for an appetizer. And ordered quite quickly. I believe we waited a good 30 minutes for our appetizer. A little bit long in my opinion. But waiting was worth it. After the bruschetta my husband had a Cesar salat with a very aromatic dressing. I had a creamy chicken jalapeño soup. Delicious! With that afterwards came my husbands 4×4 with potatoes lobster tail and beef steak. The beef was well seasoned and melted in your mouth! We share our dinner a lot so we have a Good variety of flavor. I had the elk medallions with sweet potato. Very delicious and tender. Besides the food it was pretty good service. Cute location as well. Feel like if you not necessarily dress too fancy you might get the vibe of being treated a little differently in my opinion… Our waiter for example didn’t inform us about today’s specials or did not show us the display deserts either. The table next to us did. Keep in mind the gentlemen did not even take his hat off inside. We were dressed clean and casual maybe it’s because we are a younger couple not sure. Will co back here tough and maybe pull out some more makeup and a dress I guess and put my husband in a suit haha :) maybe for my birthday in May!

What made this a five star review was how the manager handled the situation where we were caught by surprise for an extra charge to split the entrée. We mentioned to him before we walked and he quickly pulled money out of his own wallet to compensate us and even thanked us for the feedback about his fill-in holiday waitress. We appreciate that he also took the time to tell us about the history of the establishment too and the possible source of the logs which the building was made of. The food was very tasty, the bread was hot and plenty of vegetarian options. The setting was cozy.

This is a nice spot for casual, elegant dining in Estes Park. I liked the Mountain décor. The food is well-prepared and flavorful. We each started with French onion soup, which paired well warm, fresh bread. For appetizers, my husband and I shared the elk kabob and smoked salmon. The elk was well seasoned and extremely tender. The smoked salmon was served with interest accoutrements – pine nuts, dill cream cheese, capers and raspberry sauce. For entrees, I had Colorado lamb, while my husband enjoyed the elk. This is a great spot to dine when you’re in the Estes Park area.

My fiancée and I decided to try this restaurant as it was highly rated. The place and decoration are really nice — cottage made of logs. The service was very good maybe a little bit slow. We ordered the elk kabobs as appetizers: AMAZING! For entrees we had : — the pork chop: we were expecting a sweet and savory dish as it was prepared with apricot jam. It was not. — the buffalo rib eye: it was not great, the sauce was too bitter. I will give it three stars as we may have not chosen the best dishes and the appetizer was really good.

Very good dinner! Robust portions that would be best shared with another. The music that was played was recorded bluegrass. Overall a nice dinner worth the price. I would recommend this place as a nice more quiet place in the Estes Park area.

We came here for a friend’s birthday last weekend. The ambience is spectacular and has that quintessential mountain feel to it. We were seated promptly and our waiter was at the table immediately. Throughout the night, he was very friendly, very attentive and made us feel well taken care of. The bread and olive oil was fantastic and I ate way too much of it! For an appetizer we settled on the smoked salmon and trout plate. The aioli could have used a little more flavor to it but overall it was a really nicely done appetizer. For my main I settled on the bison rib eye. I asked if I could have a salad instead of veggies on the side and the waiter didn’t think I could do that. I always find that a bit strange but ok. When the bison came out, it was cooked to my medium, however, it was so underwhelming in flavor. I literally salted my steak several times. They totally ruined the meat! The sauce was made with balsamic vinegar and was not made well as the vinegar flavor was still really sharp. The hubs got the special which was the elk osso bucco. The sauce was underwhelming but the meat was well done. The mashed potatoes were amazing and the best part of that dish! My friend got the scallops which were cooked well but the sauce was, as the trend seemed to be, underwhelming in flavor and drowning the scallops. Our other friend got the salmon and seemed to enjoy it. He also ordered wine and a manager? came with the wine. He realized there wasn’t a wine glass, looked confused, set the carafe down and then walked away. We assumed that he would be back with a wine glass but he never came back. Very odd and not fabulous customer service. Our amazing waiter remedied that situation though! The desserts were probably the worst part of the meal. We ordered the trio and a blueberry cheesecake. They all had to have come out of a box. The brownie from the trio was hard and cold, the bread pudding was so-so and the crème brûlée was also decent. The blueberry cheesecake was standard box cheesecake. There is real potential here if they would pay attention to the seasoning, ratio of sauce to meat and salad dressing to salad(our salads were drowning in dressing). The service from our waiter was spectacular and the setting is gorgeous.

This place is absolutely beautiful. My fiancé took me here the day we got engaged(awwwwww) and they seated us up the stairs on a balcony overlooking the restaurant. It was very intimate and had a cozy log cabin feel. Our waitress was very friendly and entertaining. The appetizers were delicious– portobello mushrooms and french onion soup. The lighting was seriously awesome– it made everything look lovely and seem super romantic. Unfortunately, the lamb dish was not my favorite– it was beautiful looking, but quite difficult to get to the actual meat. There was a lot of gristle for the price we had to pay. However, my fiancé enjoyed his rib-eye and his potatoes were super duper creamy, rich, and tasty. Although my dish wasn’t my favorite, the entire experience was wonderful, and I would certainly be back to try it again.
