It’s a book store with a coffe counter. Not a bad place except the wifi can be torturously slow. Couple that with the elevator music and the overpriced books… So why do I come here? I like books but usually find them cheaper on amazon. Good place to come for a coffee and to browse books.

This Barnes & Nobel was definitely one of the nicer ones I have been to. My friend and I decided to make an evening stop this past weekend and were both pleasantly surprised with how immaculate and impeccably organized the store was. Like most Barnes & Noble’s the store is spacious. There weren’t too many places to sit while browsing the shelves which was disappointing so we opted to sit in the aisles. Since it was later in the evening and close to closing(10:00 pm?) there were hardly any other customers. I have attended this particular store in the afternoons and it definitely gets busier. Late afternoons/evenings seem to be less crowded and quieter. I appreciated the fact that not only were the employees friendly and attentive but they also didn’t hustle us out the door. It was definitely nice being able to take our time. I didn’t browse the entire store, and instead chose to look through the poetry section, I was pleased overall with the merchandise they had on display. Parking here is also usually great. Since the store is a part of the Valley River Mall area, there is a huge parking lot that is rarely ever full. Personally, I am always partial to browsing bookstores that are not packed with people as well as ones that stay open in the evening. So, props Barnes & Noble for the late night hours of operation!

Although a smaller Barnes than some, is well appointed and has the café. Put’s Borders to shame and the staff are always very willing to help.

Went here while we were in town for the Eugene Marathon. Found the(brand) new Guy Gavriel Kay book and was very pleased they had a copy. They have the full on B&N Café, which is pretty decent. I got a coffee cake and a(Cheesecake Factory) slice of cheesecake. The staff was helpful and friendly when I couldn’t find the book I was looking for. Plus, I got 5% off because my brother(who was with me) is a B&N club member. Sweet!
