We loved this place. I had a delicious pasta dish with mushrooms and sausage in a tomato based sauce; my partner had carbonara and our friend had lasagna and Caesar salad. The only thingI didnt like was the taste of my friend’s lasagna, it had nutmeg in it and I thought that dominated the flavor, not a good mix for my taste. Otherwise, great, cozy space, generous portions, very friendly atmosphere and great service.

So… WOW! These previous reviews are why my wife and I decided to try it. I called ahead and was told«no reservation needed»,(not we don’t take them). I explained we were celebrating our anniversary and had good reviews on Unilocal. The 1st person on the phone was of little help, so he put me on hold for a more knowledgeable person. While on the phone we inquired about wine and parking and was told of a selection, only to find out after ordering they had run out of it.(would’ve been nice to know before we drove out there). They also missed the mark on parking. So the food was pretty good. A little overpriced, but had the service been at least OK, it would not be a deal breaker. Waiting to get a table, we noticed these awards on the wall for best food, best Italian restaurant and most romantic. ROMANTIC? Hardly. Our table was TINY at best. We were crowded in with quite a few large parties making a lot of noise.(not so romantic) Our server took our order, delivered our food and NEVER checked on us. He finally gave us our check and apologized for what I can only guess is never checking on us. He never came to get payment. Fortunately another waitress took our bill. Over 5 minutes later our original waiter returned with our credit card and another insincere apology. I noted on the check our concerns, and left my phone #, but no call back. A simple call would have avoided this negative review.

Great bread. Good service. Great food. Had the caprese salad, garlic with Cambozola cheese and AGLIO E OLIO — Garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and a pinch of red pepper. Wow. We had reservations for 9 people Fathers Day night and were seated pretty quickly. Our table was off on its own which was nice. Afterward we had a nice stroll around u of o. Unfortunately we didn’t save room for dessert!

Pretty darn good for around the Eugene area. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was great, the food was overall pretty good. Delicious bread. Lamb was a little more bland than expected and definitely not medium but still tasty! The bishop hats were amazing! Will come back for sure.

Easily the best restaurant in Eugene. I recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE! I have traveled to Europe and haven’t had food this good. If you choose to go anywhere in the Eugene area, go here!

Seafood Ravioli with dungeness crab! Special dish for sure. The Caesar salad was a generous portion and always love starting with bread, olive oil and balsamic. The Hazelnut Cake and Ricotta Cheesecake with raspberry topping was the perfect finish to the meal. We had a great waitress and couldn’t have had a better experience! I did find a tiny little piece of a plastic bag corner in one of the desserts, but this just confirms it’s homemade. :) The cute little Glitterati candies were fun too!

I think 3 stars is a bit generous. We are assaulted with noise as soon as we stepped inside. It is a converted house with inside and outside dining. We were given a table about 24″ square which had to hold condiments, bread basket, salad plates, wine glasses, etc. It was awkward. We were very close to other diners and could not hear ourselves speak. The bread had a way too crispy crust and a very soft, semi-tasteless center. We struggled to pull the pieces apart as did diners at other tables. Simply cutting through the bread slices would have been a little mercy for the diners. We were served generous portions of a good Caesar salad that they split for us. We ordered chianti to accompany our choices. We had pappardelle con carne and lasagna. The beef in the pappardelle was tasty. The lasagna came out overbaked with the top layer blackened in parts. it was okay. The best lasagna I have had in recent years was at Giorgio’s in Portland with kale, besciamella sauce and rabbit. It was not burned on top. It was baked to order and was sublime. That’s my basis for comparison. I’ve ordered lasagna by the pound from Fred Meyer’s deli and it was much better than Beppe’s. I suspect we are outliers in our reviews. The noise makes conversation challenging and the food is passable. I would rave about this place if the prices were a lot lower. But they are not. So, it’s meh.

Tried to get into this place during the weekend of the Eugene Marathon, but it was too packed. Was able to get in during the Prefontaine Classic and boy was it was worth the wait!!! This place is incredible! I ordered the CAPELLI D’ ANGELOALLAMEDITERRANEA and it was spectacular, three very distinct flavors, depending on if you ate a shrimp or a scallop or just a forkful of pasta. My girlfriend ordered the CAPPELLIDIVESCOVO(Bishop Hats) and this was even better! Homemade pasta, very unique flavors, tasted like nothing I have ever had before! The service was great, the staff was very friendly. We sat outside on the deck.

Delicious food and good service. It was a very nice little romantic dinner for my husband and I. It was a bit loud in here, and the wait was long, but the food was worth it.

So my wife and I went here for Appetizers and wine this evening. Have to say we really enjoyed the atmosphere and what we ordered was great. I know that we will plan on going for dinner sometime soon but earlier. It was quite full for a Thursday at 8pm, but was had no problem with getting table in the bar area. Every one was very friendly and it’s alway a good sign when the owner is mingling throughout the establishment. For what we order the portions where large and my wife and I where satisfied afterward. In the soon to come warmer nights of the summer I know my wife and I will take advantage of the outside seating for out date nights. Suggestions: Take advantage of the Bar area, it’s first come first serve but there was two tables open and we jumped in-front of several groups since we did that. Now I don’t like cutting but still for appetizers and drinks it worked Perfectly. Ordered: BRUSCHETTA ROASTEDGARLICWITHCAMBOZOLACHEESE

Visiting from out of town, we ended our night with a great meal. We started with the arugula salad. Light flavorful dressing and sliced cheese made it a great start. I had the eggplant and it was cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of breaded eggplant and cheese baked to a light golden brown. My husband had the Ragu with the freshly made fettuccine. The portions aren’t to large but we had no room to try there deserts. The setting is perfect for this great meal. With Attentive professional staff it was a great conclusion to out visit to Eugene.

Lives up to its great reviews. Service was really great. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Wines are VERY reasonable! Would love to live close enough to Eugene to eat my way through the entire menu! Everything on it is a winner. Save room for dessert!

Came here for a romantic dinner and had a lovely time. The service and atmosphere are 5 stars, I just wish the food was more flavorfull for the price. Started with the caprese salad and it was just exquisite, the best I have ever had. To drink i had a bellini, also great. The main course I ordered were the bishop hats, which honestly are overrated on Unilocal. They are OK but not for the $ 20+ price tag. They lacked a distinct flavor in my opinion. More just like buttery and somewhat cheesy pasta. Eh. My date has the steak and veggies. Also, the dish lacked in flavor but would have been fine had the price been more reflective of the quality. The ricotta cheesecake was unique and delicious, definitely try it if you like ricotta cheese! For Eugene this place is worth a date night, although count on spending $ 25 more than you feel like you should have. If you are used to top quality Italian food you will probably be disappointed, so don’t let the Unilocal reviews get your hopes too high. As a side note, the servers are incredibly nice and you feel bad for not loving the food because it is clear they truly want you to like it.

The wait was over an hour, but… The food and service were pretty darn good. Apparently they only do a lobster ravioli dish four times a year. None of us wanted that for an entrée, so we got it as an appetizer and all shared. Yummy! The lamb ragu on fettuccine was terrific! Two of our party had the«bishop’s hats» pasta. Delicious! I had the halibut special. Moist and flavorful! Desserts: oh… my… gawwwwdddd!!! The chocolate mousse was really good. The winner was the budino(a baked chocolate pudding with caramel sauce with sea salt) crushed it! The best!!! Though busy, they were attentive and wait staff smiled a lot. What a difference that makes in the overall experience!

A strong 4 stars. Most recently went there for Christmas ravioli(lobster & Crab), which have become a family holiday tradition for us. Beppe’s is a long-time Eugene institution with great energy, very good to outstanding food, a fine well priced wine list and over the top cakes and desserts. Beppe himself is often there and is a fine and amiable host. I have not once had a disappointing time there.

Excellent bruschetta trio appetizer especially the olive tapenade and the burrata with olive oil. I tried the carbonara pasta this time which was a huge portion size, but not as good as the bishops hats! Service was good and we were easily seated arriving before 6 on a weekday.

Wow. My husband and I just had an amazing dinner here for our anniversary! The place is small and very busy, but we had a great experience. Our server was SO nice– I forgot her name. I really liked the bruschetta appetizer and the Caesar salad tastes so fresh. I ordered the ravioli and the special was a cheese ravioli with mushrooms in a pesto sauce… It was possibly the best pasta I’ve ever had! It was so fresh and delicious. And then to top it off I had«death by chocolate» for dessert which is a three layer chocolate cake. We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary although just know this place can get noisy. It isn’t really ideal for an «intimate» dinner– I felt like we had to talk very loudly to hear each other. But the food and service were both so good that I don’t mind one bit. I will definitely want to come back here to try some other dishes(although not too often because it is a bit pricey).

Yum yum YUM! I came here the evening of my graduation. Even though it’s only a couple blocks from campus, I somehow never realized Beppe & Gianni’s was even there! It’s in a large, converted house, so it does blend in with other homes on the block. When we came in, the place was absolutely packed. Since we were just getting food to-go, we decided it would probably be best if we just snagged a spot in the bar. Even that was a feat. We had our first round of drinks standing near the bar in the lobby before something finally opened up. If you’re coming on a Friday or Saturday, expect a LONG wait. For drinks, we ordered some wine and bellinis. The sweet bellini here(made with moscato) is by far the best I’ve ever had. It’s so light, fresh, and slightly bubbly, with just the right amount of sweetness. You can’t go wrong ordering one. For food, we ordered the Lasagna Della Casa, Carbonara, and Pappardelle con Carne. The consensus was the lasagna was pretty good, though nothing extraordinary(it was mainly sauce and noodles, with little other filling), and the carbonara was a little disappointing for the same reason. However, I am a sucker for handmade pappardelle, and mine was perfect. The beef was braised in Chianti which gave it a wonderful flavor, and it was so unbelievably tender. It ranked up there with one of my favorite Italian dishes of all time. I highly recommend this dish! Overall, while I think we enjoyed Noli a little more, this is definitely one Italian place you’ll want to try in Eugene!

Who’s a jerk? I’m a jerk. Why am I a jerk? I found another 5 star review I haven’t wrote yet. Shame on me. My wife and I have struggled with finding a solid Italian restaurant while living in Eugene. Our first attempt was Mazzi’s…Uggghhhh. Just don’t. Our first night here was a great experience. We showed up to a 20 minute wait. After getting on the list, we had a seat in the bar area and enjoyed a few glasses of red wine while chatting. I would say 10 minutes into our wait we had a table open up. Nice! They like to start you off with some bread and Extra Virgin Olive Oil along with Balsamic Vinegar. That’s my favorite was to start an Italian Dinner. Our waitress(Shavaun) was a pleasure. She was attentive, explained some of the more complex dishes to further our understanding of the food, and overall helped us enjoy our time that much more. Thank you! She recommended the Capelli D’ Angelo Mediterranea. It was heaven(see pictures). This may seem crazy, but the fact that the pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly made this dish that much more amazing. It’s a tomato based dish, however it’s not overpowering at all. It’s very mellow. It’s loaded with shrimp, scallops, and fresh basil. NOM! It paired really with a bottle Cabernet Sauvignon. From here on out, when we want some Italian, this is where we will be heading.
