I don’t understand the hype, this place is pretty bad. I’ve been here a couple times and try different things but it’s always the same result. I won’t come back. The staff is rude and the place is dirty. Don’t go here if you want something good.

This is nothing special I am not a resident of eugene or oregon at all as a matter of fact, but i must say without a shadow of a doubt this is the worst«mexican food» joint ive ever been too. I ordered a burrito and a few carne asada tacos. As i was staying at a motel across the street, it dawned to me to take it home and eat it there. Well to my disappointment when i went home, i opened my food and to my surprise the carne asada tacos and carne asada burrito were disgusting looking. If you are making or cooking carne asada, it should be on a grill were u watch it get cooked. These people are dumb enough to boil there carne asada. Dude carne asada is NEVER boiled. Its cooked. Part of the freaking name of the food is ASADA which if you dont know is roasted. So i was heavily disappointed and said to myself, well give this place a try. Not a good idea. The tacos and burrito were terrible. So i went back and told them why the hell did they boil there meat. The employee insisted on saying it was cooked on a grill. Im no fool. Im mexican and part of being mexican is knowing how particular foods are cooked. This meat had no signs of being put on a grill. It looked like they slacked off in cutting the meat and through it in a vat of who knows what. This a terrible place for mexican food. If you are looking for any decent quality mexican food around here. This is NOT your place.

Get off your damn phones and pay attention to your customers. Then maybe, and I say that loosely, just maybe you can get a simple order right. Thanks for waisting my lunch. I’m allergic to onions and said NOFUCKINGONIONS. But the counter girl must have thought I asked for every single damn onion in Oregon because when I opened it up it had about 30 pounds on there. So disappointed.

I have been loving/visiting this place for over 10 years. If it tells you anything, this was my friends’ and my first and last stop of our Eugene trip. I have lived in LA and Guadalajara and Burrito Boy is my favorite burrito of all time. Enjoy!

FOODPOISONINGBEWARE Went here 2 nights ago and ordered the«special» wet burrito that has pork beef and chicken. it was a large burrito and tasted very ok. i wasn’t impressed but the portion size was good. i ate half the burrito that night and saved the other half for the following day. around 3am that morning i wake up with incredible stomach pains. subsequent gas and throwing up ensued. i wasnt 100% sure what caused this midnight agony. the following day i ate the other half of my burrito and sure enough 3 hours later i had the same reaction leading me to believe that, yes, indeed burrito boy poisoned me. i called the main office the following day and one of the managers listened to my story and pretty much discredited my account of what happened. first and last time at burrito boy thats for sure

I’ve spent many a college night stuffing my face with burrito boy after celebrating a football victory but tonight was different. Asked if it would be possible to get their meat supreme nachos with the the chips on the side rather than underneath as normal.(They have massive portions and the chips get soggy if you can’t finish the entire thing). Rude lady said«No that’s not something we would be able to do». So I get not wanting to do it because it’s not how it comes normally, but the fact that you say you can’t do it? You literally make the entire order exactly the same and throw the chips in a bag instead. Not difficult. So ended up not ordering anything at all. 0 stars for your horrible customer interaction. 0 stars for being located on a college campus but not being able to figure out how to subtract a chip from a nacho. 0 stars because I’m sunburnt and now starving. 0 stars for asking me what my order # was after I couldn’t order what I wanted so I ordered nothing but you thought I did??? 1 star because I don’t have to come back again.

If you’re drunk in downtown EUG and it’s late, I’d rate this location 2 stars and might try it again(if nothing else was open, but Sizzle Pie is now until 2 am :) But if you’re sober, this Burrito Boy gets 1 star. The food is so bland I didn’t even finish the soft tacos about a year ago when I was late for work and needed something, anything to eat. The hot sauce was nothing special. There was shredded iceberg lettuce of the terrible variety… is that a strain grown for people in certain states, and/or large cafeteria food chains like Sysco, etc? gross. The location is bad, in a cramped space next to the downtown EmX station and sandwiched next to the McDonald Theater’s back side, with black peeling tin covering its plate glass window. It just feels grimy, which I suppose isn’t in their control, but it does affect the overall experience. The staff were, um, not very interested in customer service. That’s the nicest way I can put it. I’ve also been run off from the empty table outside before, within 1 minute of sitting down exhausted(bus commuter with heavy bags that day), intending to stay for only 2 – 3 minutes. Nope. You need to leave, lady. See the sign? However, at a location on the west side, they had some tasty Horchata that made my morning unexpectedly better. Not all BB locations are the same, fo sho. My friend E swore by the nachos at one of the other locations. Try out some other spots! This is a local favorite and has been around a long time. I will, and might try some breakfast or the namesake dish.

Great place, come as you are and stay for the burrito. I got the Wet Burrito light on the rice and it was great. Put a little green whatever sauce on it and it was even better. Burrito was pretty good size and a deal for the $$.

As advertised. Very patient, friendly staff. This location is open 24 hours … Very nice in a city that tends to close up early!

The Mexican food at Burrito Boy is authentic to the point that you would have to eat it to believe it. It has a nice exterior complete with the typical Hispanic themes. Although pricier than alternatives and with a little of a wait, the quality of the food surprisingly made up for both by a massive margin. The availability of fountain drinks also makes for a nice contrast while waiting with some food carts that only offer cans and bottles, allowing consumers the ability to refill. I walked into the taqueria right before visiting the University of Oregon. The price for a fish burrito was $ 6.95 and with the beverage, came to about $ 8.70. When the burrito came with about seven tortilla chips in seven minutes, I was delighted. The fish was crispy and crunchy while the filling really made it work. Their skill level was at Southern California and Mexico. I also tried a friend’s beans and rice, and that was wonderful too. Burrito Boy is exceptional.

I absolutely love Burrito Boy. I have been coming to this location pretty regularly for the past 4 years and I’ve never had a problem. The food is very consistently good, and comes out quickly. Staff is super friendly. The burritos are large, hot, and super tasty. Easily my favorite burrito place in the city. The fact that they are open 24 hours is a plus, and the quality doesn’t diminish late at night either. There are daily specials, and the perpetual Bean and Cheese Burrito with a Coke. Everything comes with a generous helping of nachos too.

I know Burrito Boy is a Eugene staple… We’ve been to a few of their different locations, some of which we’ve enjoyed just fine. Since we were staying across this particular Burrito Boy, we decided to stop there for a quick burrito-to-go before hitting the freeway. The lack of a drive through at this particular location was a bummer, but the long line even on a Sunday late morning was also disappointing. My husband and I ordered two veggie boy burritos with guacamole added to both. My stepson ordered a cheese enchilada plate with an extra enchilada. The order took nearly 20 minutes. While waiting I watched as three separate customers made complaints about wrong items in their orders. While the food in my order came out correctly, it certainly wasn’t anything spectacular or stunningly delicious. If I were a hungover college student, would this satisfy? Probably. If I were a drunken college student, would the 24/7-open-hours be entirely enticing? Totally. But as a normal, visiting-Eugene-wanting-a-burrito person, I was left wishing we had grabbed a burrito or something else before heading out of town.

Looking for something open late night on a Sunday while passing through Eugene on a road trip. This was perfect! Food was pretty basic(& kind of bland). However, it was cheap & fast(w/o being greasy fast food). I think my wet burrito was $ 6 and came with chips. The sauce tasted like lightly salted tomato broth but oh well. Also, HUGE portions. Lots of vegetarian options! This place has one of the most sketch bathrooms I’ve ever been in.

Burrito Boy has been a Eugene staple for years and for good reason. Will you find super authentic Mexican food here? Probably not, especially if you are coming from the south-west. Does this place hit the spot at a price that’s right and is available 24⁄7? A resounding yes. Having been going here for 20 years now, I’ve had a lot of the menu. I love their enchilada mole sauce, it’s much lighter than traditional mole but it tastes just so damn good. The best item in my opinion is to get a wet burrito, which you can do to any burrito. The fish tacos are also pretty tasty. The thing that really caps everything off is their salsa verde. If you are a college student, you or someone you know probably has a stolen bottle of that in their fridge. That stuff is so great, make sure to ask for extra green sauce when you take an order to go, that way you can throw it on anything and everything at home.

At this point Burrito Boy is so well known in Eugene, it almost feels redundant to profess my love for it online. That said, if you’re not from these parts — this is your stop for a gut bomb burrito in all forms, along with other tasty Mexican edibles. Sure, there are other places that are likely more authentic than this spot, but this BB is open 24 hours a day with a drive thru. Gamechanger. The breakfast burritos here are the pit stop to eternal satisfaction. There are several different combinations, but my go tos are the Machaca(shredded beef, cheese, beans, peppers, tomatoes, and eggs) and the Chorizo(potatoes, chorizo, beans, rice, eggs). At roughly $ 5 each, they are meals on their own. A little sprinkling of any accompanying salsa and you’re on your way. Those not looking to capitalize on the breakfast burrito bandwagon are strongly encouraged to hit up the Chile Relleno Burrito($ 6), or the classic«Bean and Cheese» burrito for our veggie minded friends. They’ll toss in a complimentary helping of tortilla chips, which goes perfectly with the wet versions of either. Highly recommended to go the wet route, even if it is $ 1.50 more. Big eaters need to turn on their El Conquistador mode if they’re to tackle the«Burro Suprimo» a ridiculous stacking of an extra large tortilla with all meats and fixins in it. Some might call it a garbage burrito but I think it would serve well as a precursor for a competitive eater warm up. I’ve never finished one in one try. Service is always courteous and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is worthy of a many returns. It’s not the best BB in Eugene by a long shot, but it’s certainly one of the most convenient.

Swung by Burrito Boy for the first time tonight, despite having lived here for over two years. First off, I really appreciate the hours: finding a place that’s open late, let alone 24 hours, is hard to come by in Eugene! I ordered a couple carne asada soft tacos and a side of rice. I was actually surprised by the portion sizes: for a couple bucks, I was expecting to find minimal meat in the taco. However, the taco was packed full of carne asada and the tacos were very filling. What a deal! The portion of rice was also decent. As for the quality of the food itself, it was pretty much as I expected. The meat was a little on the dry, well-done side, but for the price and type of establishment I had expected as much. The tacos had just the right amount of cilantro and onion(I ordered them without tomato). The rice was also a bit on the dry side and didn’t have a ton of flavor, but wasn’t bad by any means. I also got to try both their green sauce(tomatillo) and red sauce. Their tomatillo sauce was very yummy, and their red sauce sure packed a kick! Overall I’d definitely recommend this place, especially for hungry college/grad students in need of a late night snack!
