Hub On Campus

I have been living here since mid August and have probably not received a full night of sleep since. The side of the building I live on is right next to the train tracks and I just can’t get used sleeping with the sound of the train going by. When I first moved in, my room door could not shut. The door was hanging off its hinges. My bike cannot even go on the «in unit bike storage» still because it’s a «heavy» mountain bike. To this day, our microwave buttons still do not work, only the 30seconds button which is all we need but it would be more convenient to have all the buttons actually working. We have put in multiple work orders for it to be done as well. My bathroom door also had to be fixed because it would not lock. It is true about the windows molding as well. It’s quite unpleasant to actually clean that every 3 days. Also the off site parking gate is sketch. One time the gate would not open and after a long day at school and work, that was the last thing I wanted to deal with. But I called in and it was open within a couple hours. The location of off-​site parking is really scary to me. The lighting at night is not enough, especially for us young college women walking alone home at night. I shouldn’t have to feel the absolute need to have my boyfriend with me every time I need to park there at night, but I do. There’s too many creeps I walk by in front of the motel, the mcDonalds, the goodwill, and the Pizza Hut to get to my place. And by creeps, I do mean people whistling at me as I walk by or staring straight at me for a long period of time or verbally saying sexual slurs. I would park my car underneath the hub, even if it is a $ 100 extra on rent, but they did not build enough spots underneath the hub to even let that be an option. The reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because I do have a really nice view and the staff is pretty chill. There are some issues I have with the lease agreement as well because we pay for water not through EWEB. They use a 3^rd party out of Florida to measure electronically the water use. We all pay an equal amount of water in the Hub which is ridiculous because that means we’re all paying for the people who have hot tub’s water also. We also cannot see the dollars/​gallon that we pay for on the bill. I will not be living here next year due to all the reasons stated above.
*UPDATE*
After I posted this review, hub staff came in immediately to accommodate our in unit needs! Our microwave works, there is less mold growth because they trimmed the shades, and re-​checked the doors. They also fixed a light that was at the off campus parking lot so that made the walk from the lot a bit brighter! This was all greatly appreciated by me and my roommates. :)
