Staff was great and very attentive, the food on the other hand was very disappointing. Unfortunately we showed up on graduation night and the menu was limited, started with a shrimp ceviche that was more akin to salsa poured over some shrimp with a extra helping of cumin that totally dominated the flavor. Entrées were the lamb turmeric that is a regular menu item and a squash and Gorgonzola ravioli, The sauce on the lamb was amazing but unfortunately the lamb was overcooked terribly and there were large pieces of gristle mixed in with the meat. The ravioli was good but the sauce was cloyingly sweet, at first taste I thought it might’ve been a dessert item. Both entrées came with some sautéed vegetables that were really good and made a nice palate cleanser for the terrible pasta sauce.

Best restaurant in Eugene. The Steak Diane is one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. Steak Diane is supposed to be cooked rare, so when I asked for it medium well the chef warned me he could not guarantee it would come out right. He made it perfectly! Every time! Love this place.

Café Soriah never disappoints. The calamari is the best I’ve ever had and the Steak Dianne is so soft you can cut it with a fork. Chef Ib is a friendly host who makes the rounds greetings diners, and assures that every meal is made with attentive care. Café Soriah is a must go location for any celebration or just to treat yourself to a nice night out

I was disappointed with my experience. We had a reservation at 630, got sat, ordered drinks, the drinks took 20 – 30 minutes to get(every time) and the food was mediocre at best.

Beautiful outdoor patio seating, some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten, and extremely attentive and polite staff! The head chef is amazing and he goes out of his way to introduce himself to you, which is something you don’t experience very often. It was quite a lovely experience! The only disappointing thing was that I came to try the lamb(I’ve never had lamb before) and they were all out. I settled for the Souvlaki instead, but it was so delicious that I really didn’t mind at all.

The Lamb was delicious. Although it was a Spicy curry it wasn’t too hot. Great with a lager. #Dave Lister

Great environment and even better staff. Lauren is always a great server and Jason the bartender does a great job no mater what drink you order. People make a business so keep up with the great staff. And almost always their calamari is on point

Service was good. Bread was good. Ordered the steak Diane. It was good too. Nothing I would probably go back for. The ambience is nice. Good for a romantic dinner

The first was awesome, the wait staff was spot on, the food service was slow and the atmosphere is serene. It is expensive but worth it as a nice treat once in a while.

We very much enjoyed our first time at café soriah! We sat on the patio– the service was great although a little slow. We made reservations for 8 but were never asked, it was fine though I wasn’t in a hurry and they were obviously busy so I’m not one to complain lol the drinks were the bomb! I had a margarita and a «through the trees». I’m really picky about margaritas so once I knew it was made fresh I had to have one and it was delicious!!! Very very good. The through the trees was even more delicious!!! I want to make it at home!!! Yummmmmmm! My fiancé had the Italian 45 I think it was called and that also was seriously delicious!!! We had the calamari for dinner, really really good the best I’ve had! It’s got capers and jalapeños on it for a good salty spicy edge. My fiancé had the steak Diane and I had the prawns naheem I think it’s called(those drinks got to me lol) and both were excellent. I cleaned my plate. My fiancé finished his steak– which was great– the potatoes okay, and the vegetables were awesome. I really though our waitress was amazing and I’ll definitely be back :) I really like when the owner takes pride in his business and is welcoming and greeting customers. Really rubbed me the right way!!!

This was my first time at Café Soriah, I was greeted promptly and as I waited for my party to show up I sat at the bar and got a drink(it took a while to get, but it’s worth the wait, since everything is hand juiced and delicious). Once my party showed up we were seated out back and the atmosphere was wonderful and their patio was so cute. We had a large party so it took probably an hour for everyone to show up but we all had drinks and appetizers in the meantime. The food took forever to show up, but again the flavor a were worth it. After the rest of my party had shown up we all ordered our entrees and more drinks, the entrees took upwords of an hour to show up, but again the flavor a are worth it. Why only three stars if the food is amazing? After the meal when the check came, there was an auto gratuity(makes sense) but some of us had to split it up and when it came time for me to sign me receipt I genuinely thought part of the 18% tip was added to my bill, so I didn’t fill out the tip line, but the waiter had the nerve to not so nicely inform me that I didn’t fill out the tip and that the gratuity was not in fact included on my bill and handed me back my book so I could readjust it. Mind you, I’m a waitress so I understand busting butt for a large party and being disappointed in a tip. But I would never in a million years hand a book back to a guest so they could readjust their tip. Long story short, don’t come here unless you have a lot of time to kill, and be aware of waiters who might not be so nice.

Had the most wonderful experience last night at this place. The shrimp Naseem was on point. As well as the salmon, calamari, ceased salad and best of all the steak diane. And now I hear they have a lunch menu. We are most definitely coming back for that.

Service: A little inattentive(we ordered a bottle of wine and they brought out a glass of wine, for example), but more importantly SLOW. After we ordered, a table of four entered, sat, ordered and ate a main course and desserts, paid and left before we got our appetizers. We got there at 5:45 on a Saturday evening, and it wasn’t busy when we arrived. I think they’re struggling a little with their recent expansion. Food: The Sambosik was excellent, and my wife reports that her seafood special(a mixed grill) was as well. The risotto du jour was just meh and one of our dining companions said the same of the cajun chicken fettuccini.

This place is my favorite restaurant in he planet. I have had the opportunity to travel the world and I love coming back to this little hole in the wall café. This time around I had the Steak Diane that you could cut with a for oh and did I mention it was cooked table side. I also got the calamari appetizer which the do amazingly well. For dessert I finished off with table side bananas foster. This place is the best and I love it

Middle Eastern is always fun. The dining room is no frills & adorable. They need to clean the bar better. It has an awful odor. The menu is vast with many fun options including the Steak Diane & Cherries Jubilee done table side. The glass pour of white wine was excellent. The pricing is very fair. You can tell the operation is run by a chef/owner. Every educated thought & experienced movement is done from the heart and customer focused«which has become rare in these parts.» Please get a serious deep clean at the bar. It’s really off putting. We were considering walking out while the host had us wait there for 5 minutes. Glad we didn’t.

Friends brought me here for my 40th birthday dinner. Steak Diane was simply amazing, hand delivered by the chef. A quaint little place with great service and high quality food. Looking forward to going back.

My boyfriend and I came here last night for dinner for our 4 year anniversary. I’ve lived in Eugene my whole life and while I’ve heard great things about this place, I had never tried it myself! I don’t even know where to start?! This place was AMAZING. There was a duck game on so when we got there it wasn’t too busy. Our server’s name was Zeb and he was awesome. They had a ton of different specials last night which made it 10x harder to figure out what I was going to order because everything sounded delicious! To start we both ordered cocktails. A gimlet and margarita. Both blew us away… Zeb told us that each drink has fresh squeezed juice right then and there instead of ahead of time. Oh boy, you can tell! Some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Eugene. For an appetizer we ordered a special they were doing… Beef tenderloin marinated in chipotle, lime juice, and tequila for 24 hours. It was amazing. Perfect amount of spice! We wanted to try the calamari as well but we were told that it’s available all the time and our server suggested we get something that we couldn’t order next time we came in. It was a great suggestion. The beef was extremely tender and could be cut with a butter knife. For dinner, my boyfriend ordered the steak diane. We had to see how it was since so many people say that it’s the best part about Café Soriah and the best steak in Eugene. I can’t say that was a lie. I almost wanted to eat my boyfriends whole dinner. The steak was amazing and cooked perfectly. The sauce was to die for. I ordered a special they had for dinner, ground beef tenderloin with fettuccini noodles in a vodka sauce. Also just as amazing as everything else! The best part of dinner were the shrimp we ordered. They’re typically an appetizer but my boyfriend ordered them to eat with his steak. Holy cow. The best shrimp I’ve ever had… In my whole life. The sauce was insane. We couldn’t help but get dessert either. They have a tray they bring around to show you. Seeing visuals makes it hard to say no! We got their cherry cheesecake… And, yes, also amazing. This restaurant is going to be thrown into our group of favorites and we will definitely be here frequently! I can’t believe I had never been here before last night!

I’ve eaten at Café Soriah twice, the most recent time being two nights ago. My date and I came here for her birthday dinner. I had called ahead and made a reservation, although it wasn’t necessary. I also mentioned that it was her birthday, but nothing ensued from that either. Our server seemed inexperienced, nervous, and a bit rough around the edges, although he was earnest enough. To me, for a restaurant that’s «one of the better ones» in Eugene, that’s not understandable. He could not offer any insight into the wine list, for example. This is a hiring/training issue. My date had the steak diane, which was delicious and prepared perfectly to her liking(medium/pink). The«burgundy brown sauce» had a strong flavor of browned butter which was tasty but just short of overpowering. I’m not familiar with the preparation, but looking up a few recipes I didn’t see anything that suggested browning the butter, so I’ll just guess this is their chef’s creation. We would both order the recipe again although I did find the sauce a bit strong. I had the lamb Beirut dish– cubes of lamb served over couscous with vegetables. I was thinking there would be more of a sauce, but there wasn’t, so it was a bit dry. Good flavors though and most of the meat was tender. We ordered a bottle of red wine and both really enjoyed it– it was the Red Rhone blend– Château de Brague, 2010 Superieur(FR). We enjoyed that enough($ 28) to see if we can get a bottle from our wine shop. Overall, this was a pleasant meal. The service was intermittent(not busy that night) and the server not of the caliber I would expect in this place. Three stars because it did not represent a good value to us although the food was good. I would likely return, but primarily because the alternatives are so few and far between– not because we were wowed.

We went to Café Soriah for an early birthday dinner. My wife and I both opted for one of Ib’s Selections, which rotate every other week. I had the Lamb Turmeric and my wife had the Chicken Fastook. Both were incredible. Well-presented, VERY flavorful. We both cleaned our plates. Service was also excellent. We had reservations and were seated immediately on arrival. Ib suggested the large outdoor patio(which also has heaters); very comfortable and romantic. Food and drinks arrived in a timely manner, but we didn’t feel rushed. Ib’s Selections give you bread, a large dinner salad, the main course and a glass of wine for just $ 29 each. We will be back!

I’ve heard talks about Café Soriah for quite some time now. We finally made it here for dinner about 2 weeks ago. Generally when you hear«Café Soriah» you also hear about the«Steak Diane». This was the reason I wanted to come here. We made reservations for 8:30 and had a nice corner table for 2. The place is intimate, and has a nice feel to it. Our waiter was spot on, he was kind and attentive. It’s always nice to have a waiter that enjoys their job and wants to make sure you have a good time. The Steak Diane was very good. It almost reminded me of a super tender pot roast. The portion was plenty, the gravy and mushrooms that topped it was savory, and the mashed taters were perfect. I really had no complaints at all about dinner. My wife wanted the Steak Diane also, however they gave her the Smoked Ribeye on accident. She wasn’t very thrilled that they gave her the wrong steak, however it was very good also. I’ve never had a «smoked steak», so to taste the smoky flavor on my favorite cut, I was pretty impressed. I truly feel that I would prefer it grilled over coals as normal, but this was new and interesting. We ordered a nice bottle of Cabernet which pared perfectly with our carnivorous meals. We truly enjoyed Café Soriah, and we will be coming back again
