Kim Chee Pork? I ordered the kim chee pork– basically it was a jar of kim chee with a tablespoon of unrecognizable meat. Yuck. My husband had the bowl thing– it was ok– but it was too much money for a huge hot bowl of rice. I was really hoping for something good.

Really great lunch for the price. Had some kind of vegetarian rice bowl. Delicious. I had no idea what to order, but the man at the counter pointed me in the right direction. Will go back.

Yes, the other reviews are correct! Absolutely delicious. Healthy, warming comfort food, an excellent value, and the proprietors are very kind. This is a must-try restaurant! We will be back on our next visit to Eugene.

We ventured out of our comfort zone to try out a Korean food place and I’m happy we did. The food was great, the price was optimal, and the service was good– nice and personal. We had their Chicken Yakisoba and the Stonebowl Bibimbap today(SO good), and we plan to come back and try much more– particularly the various awesome sounding burgers. I was definitely touched by the kindness of Mike, the owner, as well as his journey. He cooks from the heart with passed-down recipes, and the tasty delights definitely merit return trips. TLDR: I would highly recommend trying it out!

This place is just down the street from me and was glad to see it was open tonight for dinner. I just finished their«British Burger»(Beef patty with a fried egg, bacon, ham, and cheddar cheese on top serviced with waffle cut fries, always a bonus in my opinion) and it was absolutely delicious. The egg really enhanced a standard burger. The menu has a solid variety and I look forward to trying something from the Chinese/Korean side next time. Price is reasonable in the $ 7-$ 15 dollar range. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend giving them a shot.

Ate here for the first time today. I am picky about quantity and quality. Nothing but positive things to say. Likely one of the best Korean foods that I have tasted and that includes food from Seattle and San Francisco. Has to be the best Korean restaurant in the 60 mile radius Worth a try, and disregard posts of those that said the place looks scary, as they likely have not been to a big city(not saying that Eugene is big)

This is the best Korean restaurant in Eugene area. I love their sizzling hot Bibimbob in the stone bowl. Spicy seafood soup is also my fave. Korean menu is amazingly various and delicious. They use locally grown vegetables and serve home-made style Korean food. I tried almost half of them, and all have worked well so far. Most importantly, the service is very friendly. I love this place!

I was visiting Eugene for work and all I can say is: 1. SO delicious! 2. WHY wasn’t this place PACKED? Not that I’m complaining about that last point, the food I ordered came out super fast and served by the nicest couple. I had the Jap-Chae glass noodles and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. both the best I’ve had since living in Portland for 9 years and trying various other Korean joints. oh! pro-tip, they have the best home-made kimchi. thankfully upon request they sell it in two sizes(in a glass mason jar!), which I immediately purchased. I’ll be back next time I’m in Eugene! :)

After driving past Chingu(probably a million times) the curiosity finally got the best of me and I searched for it on Unilocal only to see great reviews! Risking my own reputation and the possibility of never eating Korean food again I took my non-adventurous mother there and told her what to get. We both ordered the Bipimbap(2 of them) and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was! We both made it home and fell into a beautiful food coma on the couch. The food was great and the staff was very friendly! I should note that the area outside doesn’t look to nice(in part because the construction) and inside is more of a café seating style but it was all very clean. I base my stars on the food and service as it couldn’t have been better: D Thank you for the great meal!

YUM. This was great. If I lived in Eugene, this would be a regular spot for me for SURE. But as I was just visiting, my friends advised me to read the letters from the owner. I did and was so pleased. What a sweet story and the food was heavenly. The egg rolls were delightful! I’m craving it so hard right now. Wish I could try the hamburgers, but the korean fare was just calling my name too loudly for me to ignore.

Don’t judge a book by its cover! This place looks shady and scary from the outside and is easy to miss because the sign and building are all the same color, but boy is this a hidden GEM! My boyfriend and I were going to try the Chinese Resturant that is now in the previous Ring of Fire building until we saw the raw meat photo in the hallway on Unilocal and decided we should look elsewhere. I am glad we did because we ended up finding this place based on all the great reviews. It didn’t disappoint. When we first got there, we were greeted right away by the very friendly gentleman behind the counter who was all smiles. The food was fresh and excellent. The shop was super clean inside and is completely different from the outside. The food was just amazing. Definitely going to be on our Top 10 list of all time favorite restaurants in Oregon!

Not easy to access right now due to construction, so support these kind people. Our food was amazing authentic Korean with just the right amount of heat. Excellent prices and service.

This is my 3rd time here and I have never been disappointed by anything I’ve had here. The milkshakes are some of the best in town and their burgers are delicious! My girlfriend loves the Korean food and we both agree that the staff, especially the owner, is awesome and friendly. The place itself isn’t the nicest building ever, but it’s pretty clean and it works, just don’t come here for an important, fancy date night. This place is a must-try for everyone in town. A total diamond in the ruff.

This place seems to be run by the owner himself and it definitely shows. The service here is very attentive, the restaurant is extremely clean, and the food is fairly priced. I would definitely come here again.

I had the spicy tofu stew thing with rice. It was great: the rice, unlike other Asian restaurants, is springy not firm + the flavor of tofu stew is great with seafood, veggie, and tofu. I would recommend this place becuz of the reasonable price, nice services, and great flavor!

Great spot. Burgers, Korean Cuisine & otherwise, Chingu offers delicious food for affordable prices, but it’s the exceptional service that brings us back repeatedly. No other spot we frequent has the owner working everyday, preparing food, and personally checking on us during our meal. We often hit this spot, and highly recommend it to others.

We had the spicy tofu yakisoba, the pork bulgogi, beef yakisoba, and the stone pot bibimbap… Delish Kimchi! All of the dishes were spot on! The owner is super sweet and friendly. The food was suuuuper fresh and tasty, such a hidden gem! The only drawback is the tiny amount of parking, but I hear there is a parking lot behind them.
