Went down to Eugene this weekend to see the Jersey Boys. We got in town a few hours early and had enough time to check out the Eugene dining scene. Sure, it’s not Portland, but Eugene has a good handful of pretty good restaurants to check out. The Vintage I would put on that list, though it does have its drawbacks. The restaurant has terrific ambiance and atmosphere. Set in a converted former house, the restaurant feels cozy and welcoming. They have a lot of art all over the walls, which adds to the bohemian vibe that surrounds this college town. The servers, while slow, are friendly and helpful. The food selections vary from burgers to salads, fish and chips to paninis. I got the Vintage burger with bacon. They get their buns and bread fresh from a local bakery and I could tell the high quality with every bite I took in my burger. The burger was delicious, not too messy, and the portion size was perfect. I polished off the burger and fries and didn’t feel too full. I also had one of the locally brewed beers and thought it had a nice, refreshing taste. As I said, there are drawbacks. The prices are expensive, likely because they do use lots of locally sourced ingredients, plus the fact that they get so many people they can get away with charging a little more. Also, the servers, while friendly, are slow. It’ll take some time to be seated, take some time to get your order taken, take some time to get your food, take some time to pay your bill, etc. Go elsewhere if you’re in a hurry. However, if you aren’t, I do recommend you check out The Vintage. Delicious food in a cozy setting make it worth the wait.

I love this place! The food is amazing. The veggie crêpe is divine. The tempeh pepper jack sandwich is incredible. Had those at lunch last time with a few bellinis(«sparkling Saturday» special) and couldn’t have been happier. Have had several vegetarian meals here and several of their cocktails and it’s all been wonderful. This is a small restaurant that doesn’t take reservations, so they can get some longer wait times when they get busy, and there’s no indoor place to wait. But totally worth it when you get a table. We’ll be back many times!!!

One of the gems of Eugene. I can’t afford to go there often; altho I hear the Happy Hour menu is decent. It’s just so quaint and the food is decadent. It’s a place to take Mum for Mothers’ Day or for a romantic night out, or to take anyone you want to impress!

The absolute BEST fettuccini and clams I’ve EVER had. I will be back again BUT … The absolute worst and most expensive, tasteless fondue I’ve EVER had in my life! I had French Onion Soup and that was also horrible, watery and tasteless, Tabasco didn’t even help it! Service however was fast, friendly and efficient and everything else we had was awesome so I’m overlooking the horrible fondue and French Onion however I wasn’t charged for the French Onion for some reason(server error) hence why I didn’t make an issue about the fondue that we didn’t wind up eating most of. I talked to several friends who have eaten here as well and EVERYSINGLEONE of them said«yea, don’t order the fondue»! This is disappointing that this is classified as a fondue restaurant(I was assuming and hoping for something like The Melting Pot) and yet their fondue is frankly not fondue due to the tasteless cheese or recipe they use and I even ordered the beer cheese lol NO beer taste at all! I would love to give them 5 stars but I have to ding them 1.5 stars for the horrible, outrageously priced fondue and .5 for the water and onion soup!

Sunday brunch: excellent mimosas(not too heavy on the OJ!) and reasonable prices. Eggs Benedict was perfect with a lovely side of crispy potatoes. My partner had the Spanish crêpe– also delicious & spicy. Excellent service as well! 2MINOR items– the eggs were a tad undercooked for my taste, which I would ask them to correct when ordering next time. Also the place was quite cold, but to be fair it was early & below freezing outside. A great brunch experience– we will be back!

Awesome food… small portions and expensive though. Nice environment though, set in an old house. The staff was very nice, though they could have been slightly more attentive… especially since we were the only ones in there at the time. I do have to say the quality of food was awesome though. Everything taste wise was fantastic.

Eversince moving back to Eugene I had been looking forward to eating at the Vintage. I arrived there this morning with a friend of mine that had never been there before. We stood in the entry way waiting to be seated. We were stared at by 3 employees behind the bar without any acknowledgement for what felt like 3 minutes. There were tables available. It felt unwelcoming and rude. We decided to walk to Off the Waffle where we are treated with respect. I assure you I will not be returning.

I absolutely loved this place. It had excellent ambience and fantastic service. The food was amazing as well. I highly recommend any of the signature drinks. I’m not a tequila can but the habinero pashionfruit margarita was ganyastic and the lava rocks martini was delicious and unconvintonal. We had the fondu and it was on point!

Amazing food and drink. I love this place. It’s across the street from me(practically). What more could a girl ask for? Yum!!! The staff was nice. The ambience was nice. This was an all-around good experience. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth spending more for because it’s that good :-)

Last night myself and a friend went to check out The Vintage. We ordered 2 different fondues(Swiss, Beer Cheddar). We also had their version of nachos, the Fondachos. And we had just their basic salad. All of the food was wonderful. The Fondachos were very impressive and had great taste. Since you can’t make reservations we knew there would be a wait. We were 4th or 5th on the list and told 15 – 20 mins. It was more like 35 waiting. The restaurant is very noisy, however, it did appear that maybe there is upstairs seating. Where we were sat, over by bar, we had a hard time at a two person table hearing each other. Service also wasn’t «great». Our waitress seemed distracted a little and so my normal 20% went down to 15%. Mostly because we probably waited 20 – 25 mins after we were finished eating for her to check up on us. Then it took another 5 – 8 to get a box for our leftovers. I would definitely recommend checking this out. The menu has something for everyone from the fondue, painini, burgers, etc. I’m guessing the weekend breakfast menu also would be excellent. Our meal which we drank water with was $ 51.00

Excruciating slow service! Food on low scale, one of our orders was not fully cooked! Nice outdoor seating atmosphere.

We actually walked out last night after waiting over an hour before we even had our order taken! It took 50 minutes too get a table(they told us it would take 30 minutes and then it took 50 :/.) once we got our table we sat for another 35 minutes and had no service! Before we finally decided to just go somewhere else, yes they were busy but not that busy… I won’t be going back…

I actually quite like this place, although that’s hard to defend. The patio area is sweet and comfortable. The interior is darkened and subdued; great date space. Very often a wait. I love their list of cocktails and they have a wide variety of filling foods, some of which are quite healthy. As a vegetarian I appreciate that I have a couple options. The entrées look quite good on the menu. I’ve had a variety of them and also some of the apps(Cajun tater tots, spinach and artichoke dip) and I find that the food is good but not greats. Tastes like something I would make at home. Thing is, the service is ridiculously slow. The prices are too high for what they are. And did I mention their service is ridiculously slow? I was there with friends recently and two plates of appetizers took 45 minutes to deliver. We actually laughed when they arrived because we forgot we were still waiting on them. The drinks also took an average of 20 minutes and this was not even a busy night. Arrivals weren’t coordinated either, so the small group ate and drank at different times. Not ideal(7 of us and we’d called ahead). The Vintage is known for the fondue. I’ve never tried it and I’m sure it’s divine but I think the prices are kind of ridiculous. For example, the small cheese fondue– which is indeed very small– is $ 17. If you actually wanted to get enough to share you might be in for nearly $ 40. Oh, and they’re going to charge you extra if you want to share your fondue. Come on now, that’s just not cool. But a cool throwback food craze to share and if I had the money to spare, I’d definitely try it. There is on street parking and it’s usually pretty accessible. Definitely a place worth going to but if you have plenty of hours to linger… and someone else is paying.

The Vintage is located in a cute little house in downtown Eugene. You can park on the first level of the parking garage next door after 6pm for free or park on the street. You can sit inside or outside in the garden area. The Vintage definitely has its pros and cons. Biggest pro: Tuesday Boozeday. I have been to The Vintage twice for Tuesday Boozeday which means half off their specialty cocktails. All the specialty drinks my group and I tried were tasty each one very different from the next. From the Spicy Passion Fruit Margarita to the Lavender Lemon Drop. I was a big fan of the The Vintage Lemonade although maybe not so much because it was too easy to suck down. Biggest con: The Wait. First you wait for your table. Then you wait for your server to greet you at your table. Then you wait for your beverages. Then you wait to order your food, and then you have to order more drinks because your food has not even come yet. Then your food finally comes and you need to order another drink because you want a drink with your food, but it doesn’t come until 10 minutes after you finish eating. I think the issue is that The Vintage is under staffed. What other reason would we wait an hour to be seated at first available to be brought upstairs and see at least 15 other seats available.

I came on a weekend evening, which I wouldn’t have done personally, but some friends wanted to go out and asked me to join them. We waited for about an hour. The inside was packed, so we were seated out back in an outdoor area, which was nice since it was warm that day. No, I didn’t get the fondue, but I tasted someone else’s who got the chocolate one. It was okay. I recall it being like $ 17 bucks which seemed overpriced for a cup of melted chocolate, marshmallows, rice crispy treats and fruit, but maybe not. I ordered a turkey club sandwich that came with fries. It was okay, nothing I’d go back for. I’ve heard one day a week they do a pretty legit burger+beer deal, but that wasn’t happening when I went. It was good to try, can’t say I’m dying to go back.

Amazing food. Went here a few years ago and service was slow, but not the case anymore. Service is great, fast, friendly and all around above par. The food is to die for… top 5 of Eugene. They added a lot of seating upstairs. Been here a few times before and every time the food gets better and better. I would check this place out if you have not been lately. Tell them Bob sent you!

Great service, Mone and Sara were lovely and on top of all of our requests and needs(and my allergies). Drinks appeared practically out of thin air upon ordering them! Super speedy! Food was delish and exactly how we ordered it! The fondue was fun and whimsical! We really enjoyed our evening, The Vintage is the perfect date night! We highly recommend the Green Eugene Pasta and The Lava Rock is a ‘Must Try’ cocktail! Even if there is a wait, it’s always worth it! Bön appatite!
