After nearly 20 years as a DirecTV Customer, they can kiss my lily-white butt! For a brief interlude, we had another SATELLITE service, but came back to them. At the time we signed up again, they offered a 3 month subscription«free of charge!» for HBO, Starz and Cinemax. I told them no, we wouldn’t use it, are not interested in the least, forget it. I didn’t give it another thought, believing that they had done what I had clearly asked them to do.(Or NOT to do.) Fast forward 11 months. My husband opened a bill from them this morning. To my shock and horror, we have been charged $ 50.99 per month for the last 8 months! Now granted, I should have been looking at the bills, but quite frankly, I trusted them. The bill is paid automatically as well, so I didn’t even consider that anything was awry. I spoke with a supervisor today, and the best they could do is credit us the days we had the premium channels on our package and one month’s credit for the $ 50.99. That was it. Never mind they did what I specifically told them not to do(for this very reason)! Whether we got one month’s credit or credit for the whole 8 months, DirecTV has betrayed our trust and they can never get that back, and we are looking at other options going forward. Netflix and Hulu Plus are looking pretty good.

Worst customer service ever. They want me to pay $ 380 to cancel service because where I am moving to does not allow satellite dishes. I asked the guy how they can continue my service without a dish and he told me to find a family member to take over the account. Why would I pay for a service they cannot provide, or for a cancellation because they cannot provide it? What terrible service. I will never use them again.
