Winchester Bay RV Resort

Liked this park, a little pricey for the region but the views, the landscaping and the excellent Wi-​Fi made up for it. Would liked to have stayed longer but availability was limited during peak summer days and we hadn’t planned ahead. Next time we hope to avail ourselves to some of the resort style amenities.

Stayed for a week in the Coho cabin, which has awesome views. Gloria in the office was really nice, as was camp host Scott. The Coho is a small cabin, and it would be perfect if it had a shower. And unfortunately while we were there, the boiler was out in the shower house closest to the cabins, so we had to drive farther down. It’s nice that they have washers and dryers on the premises though. From what I saw, facilities and grounds were clean too, which is a major plus. I’d definitely stay again.

We’ve stayed here several times over the past 8 years. Always clean with clean restrooms and showers. Will stay here next year of we get a chance.

This is the nicest RV park from Florence to Coos Bay and of course. I’m reluctant to write a review because it’s hard enough to get a reservation at the site we love.
There are so many sites with great views of the water, or the marina. Although it’s in an area popular to ATVs, you can hardly hear them. The resort doesn’t allow you to start your ATVs. You have to push them out. For us, it’s worth the workout and we appreciate the rules.
This park is very clean and they do a wonderful job of landscaping the grounds. They also clean every site within minutes of the guests leaving the site. The bathrooms are clean and the laundry room is also very well maintained. The putting green and the recreation room (Huge 8′ X ‘10′ projection TV) are a nice touch. Unfortunately, the cable was out the 8 days we stayed there, but there’s always too much to do in the area.

We stayed here last year for the 4^th of July, and we know several people who stayed here this year for the 4^th. (And who book years in advance to make sure they get good spots!)
Pros:
–VERY clean… everywhere. Bathrooms, campsites, grass areas, sidewalks, etc.
–Have to use a code to get into the bathrooms and showers. Helps keep the bathrooms nice and clean.
–Spacious.
–Great views. The land juts out so that it there are views of the bay on multiple sides.
–Quiet. Peaceful.
–Near some good beaches.
–Also near some good restaurants and a delicious local ice-​cream place!
–At some of the sites, you can sit in your lawn area, and watch seals in the bay. Pretty cool :)
Cons:
–A LOT of rules. Very strictly enforced. If you are there to ride the dunes, this place makes it a little bit difficult. For example, you aren’t allowed to run your ATVs anywhere in the RV Park… you have to push them out… which gets really tough with paddle tires, especially if you have a campsite near the back!
–A mile or so away from the entrance to the dunes. When you are only allowed to go 5 or 10 mph down the road, that can get frustrating. Especially if you want to ride multiple times in a day.
I gave this place 4 stars, despite the cons, mainly because this is just a really high quality, nice, beautiful RV Resort. And also because the bathrooms and showers are amazing (for an RV Resort).
TIP: If you want to go for a holiday to go duning, book way in advance so that you can get a spot close to an entrance so you don’t have to push your ATV very far.
