Great bread, and friendly customer service. Worth the 25 mile drive when we feel like a «mini road trip». They have fresh & tasty sourdough items baked each day. Their fresh baked loaves of bread include original & Asiago(my favorites), and jalapeño(my husband’s favorite) as well as a couple of others. They also have some of the best pizza I’ve ever tried with a sourdough crust, that you bake at home with their supplied baking sheet. Their spinach and artichoke quiche is so good, and worth the drive. There are many other tasty items, like shortbread, cinnamon rolls, sourdough bagels, etc. They also have various options for coffee, sandwiches, and pizza by the slice that they heat up for you, among many other menu items. Yup their a little out of the way, but definitely worth stopping by if your in the area. Yum!

One would think that a bakery would excel at bread but we actually liked the Clam Chowder better. The baguette that we purchased was okay but wasn’t crispy enough on the outside and just too soft and somewhat bland inside. We’d give it another go if we were in the area but since we were on a road trip, we’ll have to stick with 3 stars.

I love GOOD sourdough bread and the sourdough here is the best I have ever had in my life! I bought the Greek Olive and the Cheese versions. I live in Reno Nevada and I am willing to drive all the way back just to buy more !!

The sourdough cinnamon roll was amazing! I got it as we drove through Winchester Bay on my birthday and figured it could be my «birthday cake.» I was not a dissapointment. I loved it. The proprietor was very friendly and also sold us a lovely heavy moist loaf of fresh sourdough bread and a bag of delicious saltwater taffy.

We bought A loaf of sourdough bread before we left the area this past weekend. Sorry to say the loaf was not worth the extra time to stop. I don’t know if we got a bad batch of bread or what, but it had no flavor at all. It tastes like dough with no salt at all. Not even a hint of sourdough taste either. If we are in the area again we will stop and ask for a sample before buying. If they are unwilling to give us a taste, then we will know they aren’t selling a good product. Buyers beware!

Such a fun find to run in to along the coast. The sourdough cinnamon roll is large enough to feed a family of 6 easily. Truly a beast if a cinnamon roll can be classified as a beast. But the real winner here is the take and bake sourdough pizza. Not the kinda of pizza that you want to store in the fridge for a couple of days after baking because it does dry out after day one. However it’s worth checking out if you love sourdough. They also have a little food gift section of all the novelty food, jams, cheese, dips ect. If you are on a budget the day old stuff is half off. However, I believe that a carby gluteny splurge should only happen for the freshest carbs you can get.

Unfortunately I can’t give this place a good review. The bread crumbles to dust and the peach jam gave my friend diarrhea. My family and I won’t be back. We will not recommend this establishment to our friends or our associates

Sorry to have to write a bad review but travelers beware. The salad was moldy and they don’t cook their pizzas.

My only complaint about this place is that they are on the coast instead of closer to me in Eugene or Springfield! Perhaps that is a good thing, as I would go broke wanting to eat here every day!(Not that the prices are bad, they are typical.) I love their reuben sandwich. My husband loves the turkey sandwich. My husband will talk about the flavor of the tomatoes on his sandwich for three days after having his turkey sandwich here. :) The bread they use for the sandwiches is wonderful! I love it. They do go a little skimpy on the meat I’ve noticed, but they make up for it with the freshness of the bread and veggies and the sauces they use. It’s a really good sandwich.(I think as typical Americans we are used to having too much meat piled up on our sandwiches.) The clam chowder is also really good. It’s a but thinner than I typically like, but the flavor is so wonderful it makes up for it and I really don’t mind. The lemon bars are the most massive I’ve ever seen. Lots of wonderful breads, treats, goodies. Good selection of cheeses, snacks, chips and drinks. I’ve never tried the pizza, but I am willing to bet it’s delicious. While our sandwiches are being made the shop is fun to browse. There are lots of jams, vinegars, win, beer, interesting malts in mason jars, taffy, Oregon souvenirs, hoodies, hats, even bird bath basins. It’s just a hodgepodge of misc Oregonian and gourmet goodies. The staff are welcoming and friendly. When our food is ready, we sit outside and watch the cars go by on hwy 101. I love this place.

Every time I am in the area this is a must stop, to get some fresh baked sourdough bread! They have many flavors of bread but jalapeño cheddar is my personal favorite. They have many things to offer here and most are locally produced. They make an awesome homade giant cinnamon roll the size of a dinner plate that they sell for $ 5. In addition to the loaves of bread they have bagels, scones, brownies, cookies and other fresh goodies. They also made sandwiches, breakfast bagel sandwiches and biscuits and take and bake pizzas. A regular coffee is .99, and they have a full coffee bar with tummy treats such as a berry crumble latte and a white chocolate macadamia latte. They use Monin syrups. They have a giant selection of locally made jams, cooking oils, sauces and wines. They also have souvenir shirts and unique gifts.

Yum! I got a sourdough bread bowl filled with clam chowder and it’s so delicious I will eat the bowl! The last time I tried one of these was on fisherman’s wharf in San Fransisco and it was no where near this wonderful! Here, the soup is good, the bread is great, the coffee hits the spot and the gift shop has reasonably priced, very buyable items! I can’t wait to come back again!!!

This little spot on the side of the road is lucky enough to have good signage enough before you drive by it to alert you of its presence & space on the street behind it is large enough to stop if in an RV, a definite plus, with easy access from the other street. It’s interior is rather strange in design but separates it’s different stock from great tee’s & sweatshirts to touristy items that are shop &varied, including several lighthouse lamps & really great small coffee table books about lighthouses & all the jams, vinegars & condiments you’d like to purchase; however the great majority of the food items had no price tag, a practice that really irritates me when I’m shopping. We stopped primarily because I wanted a sourdough boule or loaf for dinner that night & thought a frozen day old would be perfect because it would be almost as fresh as the daily bread having been frozen«the day it’s baked» but by the time we arrived at our destination I discovered the boule was not double bagged, a necessity in that kind of freezer; that was not the case. Our loaf was extremely heavy though fully defrosted & gently warmed on a low temp oven; when cut found to be incompletely risen as you can see in the top ½ inch beneath the crust; however it’s flavor far surpasses SF sourdough. The pkg of 4 bagels was a great cost & they were huge. I’m hoping they don’t disappoint me This is a store that carries much more than sourdough, but I would like to see more room devoted to the term ‘bakery’ to find additional bakery items from sourdough. When we drive through again I hope to find even more assortments of the unusual Tillamook cheeses, but PLEASE price them!

Nice local bakery and sandwich shop in Winchester Bay. Some gourmet items and gifts too. We got some nice looking frozen sourdough rolls and a loaf to go with some super-fresh crab we got at the floating fish market dock in Charleston.
