DANG these places hooking me with good service a couple of times and then absolutely demolishing it the next. So here is the deal the food is still good. The SMASH Burger is still AMAZING(see previous review)… We got the fried mushrooms again — but this time they had a FOUL taste to them. Like something was seriously wrong with them. We tried to get the FRICKLES again but they were OUT… I cannot believe they were out of pickles but they were… oh well. We tried the Fried Green Beans instead and they were outstanding too. So if they have them get Frickles and Fried Green Beans if you want apps. The service was by one of the bartenders who I later found out was a manager. She was busy because she was working the bar and the dining room. Here is the deal(and she should know this as the manager)… don’t be a freaking brat to your customers. I really don’t CARE if you are having a bad day and staff called out and now you are having to work it(we were trying to come up with reasons why she may be a snot)… THATISYOURJOB it is called customer service. She was just short of attention at first and was keeping an eye on the bar while taking our order and was not at all patient in the process. I kinda get that if the table isn’t fully ready to order. BUT then when we needed refills I had to walk to the bar to get it, when we needed napkins no one was to be found unless we walked to the bar. On top of that — I got a groupon — it is a FANTASTIC deal her. It says Doc’s Pad for food at the top. I use GROUPON all of the time to try places and save some money. When we came two other times it also covered NON alcoholic beverages like they do EVERYWHERE else. This time she charged us $ 6 for some sodas and so our groupon wasn’t even maxed out. I walked up there thinking there was a mistake and she said — uh no it says for food at the top. I said well it doesn’t say food only. It says for food. Obviously we were not expecting to get alcohol with this(although a note about getting business other bars do just so you know Docs management)… but non-alcoholic and food should be covered. We were very careful in what we were ordering to get the right price to max out the groupon. This screwed everything up. 1) you didn’t tell us that we didn’t max it out — TERRIBLE customer service and 2) you charged us for cokes when it doesn’t say anything NOTINTHEFINEPRINTORANYWHEREELSEONTHESITEFORGROUPON that it won’t cover drinks. Not to get all high and mighty on you — but I have a legal background and technically I could have held you to that since it isn’t written anywhere on it. Her interpretation of it saying come to «Doc’s for food» was that nothing else was covered. Not exactly legal. I didn’t want to argue all night with this brat though so just paid and left. Not a great way to build a customer base unless you only want the homeless looking people that come to the bar here yelling out a bunch of crap. We loved you. We told people about how it was a hidden gem… The food was good. The kitchen staff are SIMPLY fantastic — but the face of your company(the servers) SUCK… so get it right. Go to a class or something. Don’t rip people off trying to be a contract writer when you don’t understand terms of contracts clearly. Guess I will be correcting my recommendations to people.

On Halloween we walked in waited patiently in line to reach the bar and the bartender was absolutely rude and had the audacity to tip himself… for someone who lives to go to bars to have a good time I would not recommend

Absolutely appalling. Worst bar to visit on Halloween. I’d rather stand in the lines around the block somewhere else. Bar tender was disgustingly rude, snappy and then felt the need to tip himself.

If you haven’t eaten at Doc’s lately(or ever) you should definitely check it out. They are updating their menu and other changes in the kitchen have not gone unnoticed! Haveing eaten here on and off over the years, I feel the quality of food has much improved and I really like what they are turning out these days. Their tacos on Taco Tuesday are amazing! I had the fish tacos and was blown away; very flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. The burgers are also awesome and service is prompt and friendly even when the bar is busy.

Got ignored as the bartender served a group that walked in after us and ruined the chance of playing pool. Good times ruined

Went here for lunch and they told us the fryer(I think) was broken and so they couldn’t make any burgers and handed us a minuscule menu of what they could make. I had wanted a club sandwich anyway so I wasn’t too upset. Something strange to me, however was that my friend ordered something with scam led eggs and I wondered briefly how they could have the equipment to scramble eggs and fry bacon but not cook a burger. I don’t know how, but I also don’t care. Anywho, my sandwich was good, but the beer-cheese soup was inedible. Like actually inedible. I think it’d be a much better place when the whole menu is available.

Pretty awful. I will admit I’ve only been here once, but neither pool table had a full set of balls, the basketball machine wouldn’t take my quarters, and the pinball machine ate them. Beers were overpriced and the vibe was kind of trashy. Maybe I need to come here more but I’m not tempted to as my first experience was not a pleasurable one.

Loved this place. Burger was AMAZING, as were the pot stickers. Nice small selection of arcade games and a pinball machine and 2 pool tables. Barman Kyle was great. Diverse crowd, it was very nice to see some racial diversity in this town.

This place is amazing! I find myself completely smitten by the«Ultimate Hangover Sandwich». Amazing customer service and generally a great atmosphere! I would definitely recommend Doc’s Pad to the young adult(18 – 31) range of people in Eugene!

Great beer selection! Amazing amount of TVs. Good pub food. There always seems to be events coming up and the staff is great about letting us know: Pray for Snow, Timber’s Viewing Parties, UFC, Ducks Football, Hult Center events, etc. This bar has the PERFECT location to be a hub for all of downtown Eugene! I hope they keep improving.

My experience at this place was terrible, not sure how it’s so popular. Someone ought to figure out what people like about this place, then open their own bar downtown, only with good service. To start with, they are charging a $ 5 cover tonight for people to sit outside to watch the UFC fights. Not a bad thing at first glance, it’s covered, they’ve got a TV and tables, and most importantly, they have heaters. So we pay our cover, get our table, but can’t get the heaters turned on. We go in to ask them to turn them on, and we are told they are out of propane and can’t turn them on. Are you kidding me? This is one of the biggest UFC fights of the year, and they aren’t ready for it.(Find out later from a regular that’s been going here«for years» that she’s never seen them work.) So, apparently this place doesn’t have wait staff, you must fight, and I MEAN fight, your way to the bar to place any orders for food or drinks. So after wrestling my way to the bar, I order some food for my wife and I. I’m given a number to put on my table, and return there to wait for my food. After 50 minutes without seeing my food I go to the bar and ask where it is. They tell me they went around yelling out asking for me but couldn’t find me. I asked if they checked with any of the 20+ people outside sitting at the tables there… nope…they didn’t. Then she goes back to the kitchen and brings me out my cold food… yes…MYCOLDFOOD! I tell her I’m not taking it. She asks if I want my money back or have it remade. I tell her I’d like to eat. She says they’ll remake it, then has the gall To ask me to stand at the bar and wait for them to cook it. I tell her no, I’m going to sit at my table with my wife. I’m sitting for less than 4 minutes, and a very dark version of the cold food I just saw is brought out to me… they freakin’ dropped my food back into a deep fryer for a couple minutes and brought it back out to me. I tried to take the food back, but could never fight my way back to the bar with two plates of food So we tried to eat this fried/chilled/fried food, choking down about half of it, but not because it tasted good, but only because we were starving. Should’ve just waited and gone somewhere else to eat as we spent the rest of the night trying to spit the nasty taste out of our mouth left over from this twice fried food. One thing I can say for sure that came out of this visit… I will go out of my way to avoid this place in the future. I’m also considering going into the bar business in downtown Eugene… if this is what people tolerate, I could make a killing.

Their club sandwich used to best in the world, with turkey, ham, bacon, and canadian bacon – thick with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. But last time I was there, they removed it from the menu. It was still a decent sandwich, but nothing like the previous version.

Stopped in at 5:30 on a Saturday. I’d say there were around 20 people there, some playing pool, some at the bar, couple of groups at tables. Not busy by any means given the size of the place. Stood by the door for a minute, didn’t see anyone working aside from the lone bartender, so we just grabbed a table by a smaller tv. We were trying to find a place to watch a college football game on ESPN2, and since this place had a ton of tv’s and few people inside, we thought it would work well. Our game wasn’t on any of the tv’s, but I assumed our server would be more than happy to change one of them for us. But a server never came. We sat for 10 minutes(I was checking my phone often to get updates on the game) without ever even being acknowledged. The only person I ever saw working was the bartender, and she was only concerned with the guys sitting at the bar. So we left. Admittedly, I could have walked up to the bar to initiate the whole process, and maybe 10 minutes isn’t completely unreasonable, but we were missing our game and I didn’t want to find out just how long it would take. And honestly, it shouldn’t be that way at 5:30 on a Saturday in a downtown restaurant. Especially considering there was a home Ducks game that afternoon and there were a lot of people in town. I don’t know if I would go back. There was another sports bar directly across the street, and although it was a little divey, they were happy to change the channel for us and gave us great service.

Saturday. Passed through, while at Eugene Celebration. We were thirsty and wanted to people watch. It was right in the center of all the commotion, so great to pop in here. Lots of good draft beer options. Oakshire, New Belgium, Angry Orchard Cider, 10 Barrel ! Bartender seemed real busy — but there weren’t that many folks in there. She waited on us in order and was great. $ 11.50 total for three craft pints. Nice. Sat outside. Although by the inside, looked like a great place to watch sports. A random staff member wiped our table down, even though I was willing to grab a cloth from the bar and do it myself.

Standard bar, with no real novelty or personality. The drinks are average in price with decent pours. The food is typical bar fare with burgers galore and deep fried goodness. My quesadilla was fine and so were my tatertots. I enjoyed the outside seating except for the only hockey enthusiast in town who couldn’t help but squeal like a stuck pig at every play in the game. By stuck pig I mean high pitched child like noises that made me want to kick him in the man parts. Luckily my second $ 6 jamesons on the rocks took the edge off, so we down graded my annoyance to dirty looks and snarky comments. Lastly, the nice gal who brought us food and booze was awesome. Not just cause she got me happy n shnockered but she genuinely enjoyed her job. P.s. Lots of dumba$$ thug types start filling this place up around 9ish. That’s when we walked our happy selves outa there.

I have been to Doc’s several times now. I first went when it was Jogger’s. Same place just different name. Despite the dive bar feel and look the food here is pretty decent, especially the fries and other typical bar foods. The portions on some dishes are big. The beer selection is good and plenty. It has hard liquor as well. The service is generally on the good side, but I have had a few bad and or slow service. This place is a good place to go if you want to catch the big game of the day/night. Be ware though, the juke box is connected to the speakers so if someone wants to hear a song or two or twenty that’s what you’ll be listening!

I have had the pleasure of being on Jury Duty this week and have spent 3 days eating lunch at Doc’s. What a nice surprise. I did not expect such a large menu(with breakfast served all day) at what I thought was more of a pub. Tuesday I had the grilled cheese with ham and tomatoes and beer cheese soup. All amazing. Wednesday I had the cob salad. It was huge and great and they even tossed the dressing into the salad for me. Thursday I brought some fellow Jurors with me and they enjoyed it too. i had a cheese burger that was HUGE. Friday we tried another resturant and it took so long to get the food we had to put our food in boxes and race back and my meal wasn’t as good as at Doc’s either! I really appreciated that they serve the food quickly at lunch time. Great waitress Sarah served me every day and brighted up the day! So glad I had the chance to try so many different menu items. Looking forward to trying more!

I stopped in the other day prospecting customers due to my new job i just started. upon entering there was nobody in there(it was earlier in the day) and couldn’t help but noticing they had about 15TV’s. That’ll be great come football season. What really surprised me was the food. I had the special which was a chicken, rice and veggies type dish. It had a teriyaki glaze, orange glaze and some sweet chili sauce. I was actually impressed with the taste of this food. Not your average bar food for sure. They completely re did the menu from when it was Joggers. If your out having drinks hitting up bars and want a bite to eat, i would totally give this place a shot. It’s really not too bad!
