Solid selection for how small of a shop it is, and their prices on just about everything I’ve bought from them have been as good or better than what I can find anywhere online… which was pretty surprising to me(mostly just equipment purchases so far, but their ingredient prices seem competitive too). Can be busy at times so I’m not surprised at some of the bad reviews, but I’ve never seen more than one employee working so you shouldn’t be upset that you might have to wait a bit for help… patience, people. If they had 5 employees working, then their prices would be twice as high. Go on a weeknight evening, not Saturday afternoon if you’re in a rush.

Went in today to purchase a beer brewing recipe kit. The guy was great… at first… he gathered all of the ingredients for me and brought them all to the counter, quickly threw everything in a bag and we took care of the cash. At a stop light, and most of the way home, I looked in the bag and noticed that one of the bags of hops were blown up like a balloon. Why would you even think about giving that to a customer who is paying for it??? So I called him back and told him about it and like an ass he told me it would be find and just to put it in the fridge. In other words, he knew exactly what he did. This was the second time purchasing a brewing kit from them… and the last. The first experience wasn’t that great either… their customer service is REALLY lacking. My question to him…“would you use this in your homebrew?”…no answer.

Went to purchase a Beer Brewing kit today. Couldn’t get any help. An employee started to help us and then walked off. We waited about 10 more minutes and walked out. Employee was on his phone and just blew us off. We decided to go elsewhere to spend our money. If I were the owner I would manage this store and make sure all customers are helped.

This review is for the homebrew supply side of Falling Sky and not the restaurant/pub side(though both kick ass). I live in the SF/Oakland area and thought I had it pretty good as far as homebrew supply shops go, but when I came up to Eugene to visit family, a friend recommended that I check this place out, and boy, am I glad I did! Falling Sky is a fantastically well-stocked homebrew supply store. Much more comprehensive and cleaner than my usual one in California. This place has everything I could have asked for, and the prices are a hell of a lot cheaper than what I’ve gotten used to(also, hey! No sales tax!). I came in and spent about an hour or so getting a few supplies and choosing some beer recipe kits to take home with me. The guy in the store even showed me where I could park for free! was even a place for me to park on the side! For around $ 80 I picked up 3 glass growlers, 2 recipe kits(a porter and a red ale), some extra ale yeast for a cider I plan to make, and couple other doodads. The only area for improvement would be doing a better job labeling the price on things and making things more visible. I felt like kind of a dick having to ask the price of something every 5 mins, and the glass growlers were hidden in a box in the corner instead of out on a shelf. That’s being extremely nitpicky though; this place is a solid HBS, and I’d love to have one like it in the Bay Area. I still can’t believe how nice y’all homebrewers have it here in Eugene! This place is a one stop shop whether you’re bottling, kegging, making wine, mead or cider. Falling Sky must be one of the reasons people have started calling this town Brewgene! Keep up the good work, fellas. I know I’ll be back!

When I started brewing I went in to the shop and they set me up. They hooked me up with a great book and some useful information. Thank you for the help.

Every time I enter this shop, no one is at the counter or in the store and it’s a struggle to find an employee. Once you do, they start to assume you know all the jargin that they do and it can be a bit uncomfortable getting supplies. Sometimes they are helpful, but it’s a toss-up.

I haven’t been brewing long, but these guys are really helpful and willing to spend time with each customer. Even if you just have a quick question, stop by and ask on your way to their Brewhouse. If they’re busy, just let them know which kit you would like to pick up, etc and grab a brew in the Brewhouse while you wait. Point being that brewing beer is fun, drinking beer is fun, and the two together are even better!
