We have looked high and low for a new breakfast spot since we moved here 7 months ago. I am happy to say that we have finally found it! This place is cute and clean. But more importantly, the service was excellent and the food was great! I had the avocado omelet. This was one of the best omelets I have ever had. And… they have delicious fresh baked gluten free rolls! :)

I have yet to eat in the restaurant, but I have taken advantage of the takeout meal specials. I have to say the sweet potato, sausage, and kale dish was super delicious. I hope that one stays in regular rotation. I’m limited on what I can do due to a back injury, and the meals are a godsend. Thank you!

I had high hopes for this place. I had breakfast here on Sunday. The restaurant is small and tight. There is almost no waiting area. After we were seated, we waited until two other tables seated after us to get their beverages, we finally brought it to the attention of the host. We ordered drinks and food together. My wife ordered eggs and sausage with home fries and I ordered Greek omelette with home fries and a bagel. When the food came, my wife’s sausage was«cooked» raw. The patty was cold in the middle. After we spoke to one of the three waiters serving us, she came back and tried to tell us that the sausage wasn’t raw and that is was just cold from sitting to long. We both had a faces of confusion because that was a stupid response. I refuse to eat until all the food is back on the table because I didn’t go out breakfast so I can eat alone. That’s stupid. Not a good first impression. Not sure if I would go back. I rather make breakfast at home then go here again. The food is nothing special.

The food is O.K., but don’t look too closely at the walls or up high where someone may have to reach or raise an arm to dust or something. This place is a hole in the wall. So much of what makes Eugene, well«unique?.» What people have settled for is just sad. Imagine what the kitchen looks like.

The food is bomb, and it’s way less busy than the campus location. I just had a delicious omelette, sausage and an English muffin for $ 10.50. And I’m way too full.

We were looking for an early dinner with kids so we heard about Glenwood. Service was good, restaurant was clean, people were very friendly. The waiter gave the kids crayons and paper to keep themselves busy as our food was being prepared. The server even was kind enough to bring another coloring sheet when requested. The kids ordered Mac and cheese, and the portion was generous. Six ounces of their favorite Mac served hot with melted cheddar cheese and one side. Can’t go wrong there. One child chose applesauce and the other French fries and were delighted. My hubby and I ordered the grilled tempeh panini served on focaccia with lettuce and tomato and a dinner salad. Sandwich was alright, although a bit bland for my taste. I’d recommend this restaurant, it’s family style, welcoming and for the cost, portions are a good size.

I have loved every breakfast dish I’ve ever ordered here, but did have a very bad experience with a chicken pita. Hostesses are always very friendly and servers are alright. Try the Eggs Benedict, it’s my personal favorite and the kids love the French Toast.

Several years ago, we ate at Glenwood every week, but poorly prepared food(half-cooked mushy chicken strips, watered down dressings, over cooked meat) and bad service caused us to swear off the place. Occasionally, we’d give it another try, but again swear off. Since I recently was invited to lunch there, and had an excellent omelette, my family decided to give it a try again. My husband had the Yakisoba. It was okay, but tasted like it was prepared with plain white flour spaghetti pasta noodles instead of Yakisoba noodles, making the overall dish far less tasty than it might have been. Daughters’ chicken strips were crisp and well-cooked. I had Chicken Marsala, which was tender with a very nice sauce. The salad was fresh and crispy, but the watery blue cheese dressing tasted like it had been cut with something to make it stretch, and watered down so much it had no real flavor outside of the few bits of blue cheese. I’d rather have a teaspoon of real thick blue cheese dressing than a tablespoon of this. If I’m wrong and this is their homemade blue cheese or is straight from the package, they really need to switch it up. Service was prompt and friendly, but the servers need better training. They’ve obviously been told to ask how things are going, but not trained in how to respond. When we were asked about our meals(not by our server, so a manager?), my husband said that he suspected the Yakisoba was made of plain white spaghetti, so thought it tasted odd, and the response was«I really don’t know what they make it out of in the kitchen, but I’m sorry you don’t like it.» First, employees should know basic facts like that. Second, the kitchen is literally steps away, so you can find out and report back. Maybe it is a Yakisoba noodle, but a flavorless one, so we’d both learn something. There was no attempt to do so, just a friendly shrug like«guess we’ll never know!» which seemed odd, like the food had been trucked in from Mars. Lastly, if you train your staff to ask how the food is, train them how to respond. Saying you don’t know what the kitchen puts in the food is not an adequate response. As I said, very prompt and friendly, but in need of more training. So, improved from last time we attended, but not enough for us to put it back on our regular schedule. I think if you find a few menu items from them you like and can rely on for repeat ordering, you will have a pleasant meal.

I order only a few items here, and they have always been great! Their Tomato soup is excellent! I like the ambiance of the campus location, but the Willamette location is quieter and is usually less hectic.

Good, attentive service. Typical breakfast/lunch food, great bacon and French toast. All over a nice experience, will definitely be going back.

I love the Glenwood. I have never had a dish there that I didn’t care for. The staff are wonderful and the desserts are amazing. I recommend any salad(my favorite is the chef salad with balsalmic vinaigrette). Actually I don’t believe there is anything I wouldn’t recommend. Their breakfasts are hearty and well prepared with quality ingredients as well.

My daughter and I came here for brunch. She had the pancake combo with bran pancakes that were about 1 ½ inches thick. They offer free range eggs and delicious pan fried red potatoes. I had the hazelnut and banana French toast and it was deeeelish! I will be back.

We have since been back and both had burgers… after trying many local burgers I would have to say they have the BEST burger in town.

I rarely eat breakfast out, but when I do. The place I go is Glenwood. Very casual, with a variety of folks enjoying good food. Service is fast and friendly. Food is reasonably priced. I always get the whole wheat toast, which is from The bakery located a few doors down. I try to resist the home fries, but I am rarely successful. Delicious! I prefer this location to the campus location. Don’t get me wrong, both get busy at times, but I feel the weight is a bit less at the Willamette location.

The Glenwood is one of those places that has been a local favorite for so long, the quality of the food gets overlooked, as stated by my friend during our visit here this weekend. I came with a party of 4 looking for a hearty, satisfying weekend brunch and instead left disappointed, and a little bit hungry. I ordered the Adobe omelette with a side of fruit and bacon, which seemed a simple enough order. The omelette itself was cold and rubbery, so I ate the filling instead which was equally dissatisfying. The chicken was dry and chewy, the olives were burnt, and there were strange bits of food that did not belong on my plate. The«fruit» was a piece of pineapple with strange white flecks on it(perhaps cheese?) and a slightly brown half peeled banana. I’ve had some okay experiences at the Glenwood, but it’s become so hit-or-miss that I will be passing on dining here in the future.

I have to say the years of eating at this restaurant has not diminished my opinion one bit. The atmosphere is casual, homey, and warm. I love the location on Willamette street the best. My family and I have eaten many a meal here, dragged many a friend, and family here as well. I think what stands out to me most is their consistency over the years. The quality of the food and service hasn’t gone done at all! Breakfast has to be my favorite meal here, though. I mean their pancakes, waffles, scrambles. bacon! You just can’t go wrong here. The coffee and hot chocolate are on point, and you’ll never have to ask for a refill. There usually isn’t much of a wait. Sometimes on game weekends you’ll see a crowd, but they get people through pretty quickly. I love this restaurant, and hope they always stay in business!

First, let me start on a positive note, the food is super tasty. My favorite dish is the Durango scramble. I always get it with the home fries and fresh fruit. It’s always amazing… well, usually. The home fries were soft and somewhat mushy, not at all seasoned and hardly crispy. I ordered a drink from the menu, called London Fog. Now, you would think that since its on the menu, the staff would know how to make it… nope. I heard the waitress ask another one on what was in it, neither of them knew and had to go back into the kitchen to ask someone in there. The worst part about this experience, the wait staff. Every single one of them seemed like they had something better to be doing while taking orders or assisting customers. At one point I watched one of the waiters take an order and literally look off and grunt instead of actually acknowledging the customer. I am pretty sure I won’t be going back with such horrible attitudes of the employees.

All of my friends and family in Eugene love the Glenwood. Whenever I’m in town visiting that insist we go here for breakfast/brunch, which of course is fine with me. There is always a super long wait, so plan to wait 30 – 45 minutes on a weekend(if you want to read the paper, I strongly suggest bringing your own!) I’ve never had bad food here. Everything is delicious. But the espresso is definitely hit-or-miss, depending upon who makes it. The Mediterranean omelette is one of my favorites.

DLW and I don’t go out for breakfast that often, but found that the Glenwood offers pretty okay options. we tried it recently for dinner when DLW had a burger jones, and it was hit and miss. First we should have requested medium or medium rare, assuming they would even cook it that way. Our burgers were cooked through, and while mine still had a good amount of juice left in it, hers was dry as the Kalahari. Toppings were pretty generous and flavorful, which helped a bit. Onion rings looked homemade and were nicely crisp. I really wanted the sweet potato fries, but they were out, so I settled for regular fries, which were at least decent. Portions were generous without being ridiculous. They are understaffed, as most Eugene restaurants are, but service was okay. The location on Willamette isn’t as cozy as the one by campus, but you don’t have to wait for a table most of the time, and won’t encounter drunken college kids either. A decent option for diner food.

I love the Glenwood. My husband and I like the Willamette location simply because of the parking and service. The Alder location has a better atmosphere but it’s always packed and hard to find parking near campus. The winning dish is always their tomato basil soup. Simply fantastic and I am not a fan of tomato soup in general. While this place is mostly known for breakfast/brunch, dinners are outstanding. Glenwood is also a great place for a large group. It’s our first choice when we have family in from out of town.
