Hard Core Yoga

I love HCY! I only have positive things to say. I have taken a variety of classes at HYC and have enjoyed every one. The studio is bright, clean and well designed. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and hands-​on without being too hands-​on. The price is a little more than you will pay at some other places around Eugene but I do feel like you get what you pay for at HYC.

Hard Core Yoga is wonderful! Hands down the greatest yoga studio in Eugene. My favorite instructors are Megan and Arielle who offer the perfect mix of a peaceful yet ass-​kicking class. The studio here is gorgeous and there’s a great friendly and inspiring community that pushes you to keep coming back to your mat. I hate to not give 5 stars but i wish wish wish the instructors here would do adjustments! I’m beyond confident that I’m getting a great workout but would love a little more guidance to deepen my yoga practice.
Nevertheless– amazing!

Been coming to Hard Core Yoga for about 6 months now, it’s definitely my little haven after a stressful day at work. My 2 favorite instructors are Megan and Ariel, they’re both warm and inviting. They made an effort to remember my name and always greet me when I’m there. Why the 4 stars? Well, in past yoga studios I’d been, instructors would come around and do some hands on assist and correct your post if you’re having trouble with the poses; or they would assist you in achieving a deeper stretch. For the most hard, Hard Core Yoga doesn’t do that and I wish they do. But I would still recommend them nonetheless if you’re looking for a good combination of workout and relaxation.

Love this studio! Chelsea is inspiring and the workout is amazing. My body has been transformed.

I tried a few places around town and this studio is by far the best! All the instructors are amazing (Chelsea, Megan, Arielle) take your pick. It’s a perfect balance of physical exercise, stretching and peacefulness. Not for the light of heart however, you get your work in so bring a towel and water. It’s a little expensive which concerned me initially but now that I’m addicted I feel it’s the best money spent each month. I’ve done yoga before but this is the first place that’s changed my life ;)

Placed in a beautiful and completely zen studio — and led by the owner and teacher Chelsea (who is GI Jane meets the Dalai Lama meets Elle Macpherson) — the class I went to was the ideal hybrid of relaxing and ass whooping. Everybody in the class seemed to be regulars and knew exactly what they were doing, but Chelsea offered modifications along the way (which yes, I needed). Though I’m just a beginner, I’m cocky — and I appreciate this class for showing me what I have to look forward to.
My abs were insanely next-​day-​sore, and if I weren’t just visiting from out of town, I’d most definitely snatch up whatever unlimited packages HCY had to offer.
Huge fan, will be back next time I’m in town.

The routine is always the same. 15 minutes in, I feel feminine, strong and alive. I am invincible, and I stretch into downward facing dog like a boss goddess. Around the 30 minute mark, I know I’m going to die. I can feel it in my quivering, firing body. At 45 I’m too tired to care about dying or living– I just hope the practice will be over soon. And then I’m lying in shavasana, and my heart is slowing down and my mind is at peace and the adrenaline rush curves into a slow smile on my sweaty, beet-​red face.
Sometimes, I may or may not fall asleep in shavasana (shhh). In any case, it’s the perfect workout– calming, reinvigorating and tiring all at once!

I had moved from Northern CA from a yoga studio which specialized in Baron Baptiste method yoga (read: hot, sweaty, cardio style workouts!). I was desperate to find a studio that didn’t have me falling asleep mid-​warrior pose. Personally, I want to feel the burn after doing a series of poses, and that is just how I left after attending 2 classes over 2 days at Hard Core Yoga.
There are two classes they offer: Yoga for Athletes which is about a 6 on the 1 – 10 Work-​It scale (1 being narcolepsy-​inducing and 10 being «Holy %^&$ I. Need. A. Water. Break!»), my old yoga studio in CA was a 9 intensity level, just to compare. The Athletes class has some heart-​pumping moments, but they are fleeting, and the best part of the class is the S-​T-​R-​E-​T-​C-​H! Wonderful for those, say, who are… athletes. Also, great warm-​up class to their signature «Hard Core» session. This class was a solid 8 – 8.5 on my scale– I loved it! The studio was nice and warm (did I mention BEAUTIFUL? Bamboo flooring and a few candles were lit, very serene!) and the poses were held but then changed rather quickly, so it was what I was looking for. One of the instructors had even studied the Baptiste Method! I left wanting more, but confident that I could eat a brownie after class and not even bat an eye.
Chelsea and Mary are incredibly nice (there are other ladies, I just haven’t met them yet) and very supportive of whatever your practice level may be. You feel welcome and ready to go when you walk in the door. The 3-​day pass for $ 30 is what sold me! Fun, laid back atmosphere, but you still get to sweatin’! Can’t wait to go tonight! Check it out! PS: Guys, there were about 4 of you in my last class, so don’t think it’s ladies-​only! Check this place out!

I went to «Yoga for Athletes» last Sunday and was really impressed. I’m excited to check out Chelsea’s Hard Core Yoga class. Yoga for Athletes was the perfect amount of hip opening, challenging poses and relaxation. I also loved the studio space — very calming, clean and relaxing. Feels like you’re in another city. I bought the 3 classes for $ 30 pass. Otherwise, drop in is $ 15 a class.

I went to Hard Core Yoga, a few times during their opening week, (mainly because it was free and I was broke), but it was seriously awesome! It was so relaxing and physical! It makes you sweat and gets your heart going! The owner is also sweet and does not pressure you to do more than you can.
I would go back!
